JUST CURIOUS: Chicago Serves Ribs & Rubs. Really?
A colleague forwarded me the following video, which is apparently a local ad for “Jones’ Good Ass BBQ & Foot Massage.” Despite the fact that this commercial stars a Black business owner (a definite positive image), I can’t help but feel a little creeped out by the honey mustard being poured over an anonymous chicken-n-foot-massage patron’s feet. Is this for real?!
One word: NARSty.

UPDATE: I called the number in the ad, and it is, indeed, a legitimate business. I couldn’t leave a message since, not surprisingly, the mailbox was full. The shop is apparently located in South Side Chicago (my former home!!) at 119th & Cicero.

Right now we’re performing every week anywhere we can put our grimy mitts on. We just completed a six month run at the Gorilla Tango Theatre called “Boozelegger’s Ball”. We are now working on a new show “Intergalactic Sex Rodeo” at the Lakeshore Theater starting May 29th.
Big Dog Eat Child is the current world record holder for the longest looping sketch performance. We performed our 3 1/2 minutes sketch “Stuck in A Loop” 102 times for 6 hours 2 minutes and 39 seconds at the Chicago Cultural Center on May 2nd, 2008.
We are also the ones responsible for “Jones’ Big Ass Truck Rental & Storage” as well as “Jones’ Good Ass BBQ & Foot Massage” videos starring Robert Hines.”
LMAO!! This can’t be real, and if it is real i hope people are smart enough not to go there. But on the other hand this is getting more publicity than they probably could have ever paid for. creative, nasty, and funny but not racist. let them do what they do.
The commercial was 2 funny, we do need to laugh more and stop being so serious. With every thing that going on in the world to we have to bring everything down?

guys this is a joke! i would hope that everyone would realize this place isnt real. working in a restaurant before i know this is unsanitary and the health department would shut it down. the vid was made for us to laugh at and it did for the most part.
