I’m black and was born in the UK and racism is alive and kicking. There are certain places that i would not live because there are no black people and i know id experience blatant racism. The big cities are usually more multicultural and generally black people feel comfortable living there. I think our experiences of racism are very similar to the US. We are in a minority here and i don’t feel we are very united at times. There are no black role models for our kids so it is up to us to teach our children that they can be successful. Black actors on TV are never portrayed in a realistic or positive light unlike in US where there are far more black people and much more is dedicated to providing positive images for young black Children. In my experience of living in a city i don’t feel UK is more racist than USA i think it just depends on where you live in both countries.

I know this for a fact THAT ALL OF EUROPE LOVES BLACK PEOPLE!!!! I don’t care what anybody says. I lived in Germany for 4 years and every where I went there was a smiling face when they look at an American you can get that in no America!! UK racism is on the same level or even more than the US one… It’s just more covert in some areas and overt in other areas… If you don’y believe it, try and watch TV or any shows or try and find any businesses in UK and count the number of black people and minorities you can find… In america you have black politicians, police officers, lawyers, judges, film stars, companies, etc. Good luck trying to find that in the UK… If you watch UK TV you wouldn’t even know black people who are educated or successful exist…

I’m English, or should I say British and filmgoers here (as a whole) aint racist. I’m a Londoner, and am lucky to live in one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world. I don’t know why this article even needed to be written as is it obvious that the poster was firstly not produced by filmgoers but by an American company, and the black people in it are completely unknown in the UK, when I saw the name Faison I thought of the gut from Scrubs, or Bunk from the Wire (with our very own Idris!!) I never usually write on these type of Forums, but thought I should be all patriotic, like u lot are (hand on heart and all that), and defend my nation!

both posters are a perfect examples of the racism that still exists in hollywood. the american version is tacky, where as the uk version is downright unacceptable. the marketing folks that designed these posters knew exactly what they were doing. i have graphic design experience and full well know that every bit of imagery used in that poster was consciously laid out, run through a proofing stage, corrected, and then approved. their apology is laughable and was made for the sake of pc. i’m tired of seeing bs like this. minorities, black people specifically have been getting slapped in the face a lot this year when it comes to movies and advertisement. examples: the transformers 2 mess now this bogus promotional poster. i’m an aspiring screenwriter who is planning to slowly but surely change the game. we the public shouldn’t stand for the continued nonsense like this. enough with the bs…

Is that Movie Promoter[s] are racist, or presumptive to what the foreign movie audience wants to watch. UK movies are among the most racially diverse created, including their TV programs, much, much more so that America, most of the firsts for America were done years before in the UK, cultural diversity, and education of foreign occurrence is the worst in America, simply watch the local, and syndicated news channels, they all show the same, exact thing, however, even watch BBC America and you’ll even their limited coverage of world news events makes American news channels look utterly incompetence fluffy, and utterly childish.

In the “Amerikkka” poster, the Black couple is put waaay in the back. Yet the British poster is more focused in on the main stars. This is just another (albeit slight) example of how hypocritical the American media is. Anyone with two brain cells working knows that race relations in this country is far worst off than most Western countries, yet “we” try to make it seem like we are a melting pot and progressive.

Progressive, my big red a**. America needs to deal with their own racial inadequacies before we go trying to “save” the rest of the world from ignorance.

I actually was looking forward to this movie coming out on video (I rarely do the theater). It looks like it might be hilarious. As for the removal of the black actors, it is curious that the movie is about four couple and only shows three couples.

I worked many years for a European (UK owned and operated) company and found a myriad of attitudes about race – some positive and some not so much. As African Americans, we need accept reality, life is not fair for us in this country and in most others. So let’s focus on elevating each other by educating ourselves and for those of you that are parents, educating your children.

I dont know if british people are racist or whatever… But I never saw any black people on benny hill.. Another thing…

I’ve always been a big fan of Vince Vaughn movies and I realized not too long ago I dont ever remember seeing any black people in his movies until now. The Breakup was some funny s**t. But I did notice he doesnt really have any black people in any of his joints. I dont know too much about the Brits but I definately know Vaughn’s selection of actors and talents are his personal friends and I havent seen much representation from the african american community.
