Lawyer: 170 More Soldiers To Refuse Deployment Because “Obama Is Not Really President”

Last week, a U.S. Army major named Stefan Frederick Cook made news when he refused deployment to Afghanistan on the grounds that President Barack Obama might not be a natural-born citizen and therefore is constitutionally ineligible to give orders as commander in chief. Now Cook’s lawyer says she has 170 more soldiers willing to file similar protests against the president.
Welcome to the world of the “Birthers”—right-wing conspiracy theorists committed to undoing the 2008 presidential election by trying to prove that Barack Obama was not born in the United States. The movement is evidence that Obama Derangement Syndrome is going viral from the far right, proliferating beyond fringe-festival Internet sites. It’s in danger of a quiet mainstreaming along partisan lines—reaching into talk radio, cable news, the armed services, and even the halls of Congress.
The 170 number thrown out by Cook’s lawyer has the feel of Joe McCarthy’s claim that he had a list of 205 communists working in Harry Truman’s State Department—i.e. pseudo-specific, intentionally inflammatory, and ultimately bogus. But what’s not in question is the nine Republican congressmen who have co-sponsored a bill that, in response to this much-debunked conspiracy theory, would require presidential campaigns to provide “a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate.”
Asked whether Obama “is a U.S. citizen,” bill co-sponsor Randy Neugebauer, a Texas Republican, replied: “I don’t know. I’ve never seen him produce documents that would say one way or another.”

Its weak and they are a poor excuse for a soldier.I say this because i am a soldier and im currently deployed.Its so many cowardly people that want to try to get out of deployments, and dont think about there brothers and sisters in the military and do things like this.Its funny how people try to find ways out of things and i say people because i feel like the soldiers who are doing that are not real soldiers they dont fight to keep this country safe they leech off the tax payers money until its time to fight for this country and then they try to run i think all of those 170 soldiers should be thrown in jail for disobeying a direct order.Even though my comander and chief might not be born in america he was still put in the position to give orders and we must obey and im proud to serve my country in any way i can

It’s funny how a black man rise to somewhere, anywhere and white people are intimidated by his presence. Some of them, not all will try anything to put doubt in people’s mind. They use the fact that people don’t know everything and create a “mess”. This is also a common example how people will make fools out of other people. They help them to have wild, not realistic decision about things they know nothing about. They also know that all are not wise, so they use them. Some where along the line you will be held accountable for this. Maybe we should have asked all the Presidents for their birth certificate. Maybe we should have questioned and planted doubt about their nationality. May be we should have talked and exposed all the other Presidents to malicious gossip and untrue statements. Bottom line is that people think a black man could never be President, nor has the intelligence of a white man. People that think this are not only dangerous but evil. They are consumed with this black man. A lot of you have decided that since he is President, you will make his life miserable by rebelling everything he trys to do. I applaud the President and his wife. They are like real people. We are tired of Zombies. We are tired of people who live upbove the real people as if they are in a Chariot riding down the middle of the road. President and Michelle has brought real life to the White House.
Alan Keyes was a 1994 republican presidential candidate. He’s conservative but he is extremely well spoken and very well informed. Oh..and he’s also black. He shoud have been the first black president. Don’t go saying Obama is mixed because now that he’s in office the only time he refers to his “white” half is when it is convenient politically.He refers to himself as black repeatedly so as far as I’m concerned Obama is 100% black and that follows his racist roots right along with his white hating wife(her thesis papers sealed because they were so racist) but Alan Keys was the one to put your money on, and he is truly a U.S. citizen

Thank you for standing up and doing your duty to protect the US citizens from ALL enemies, both foreing and domestic. Obama is destroying our country and we have a few brave soldiers that are putting a face on the newest destroyer of the US. Talk about a trojan horse-destroy it from within. He has spent over a million dollars to keep his birth certificate secret.The media was so star struck they failed to do investigavtive reporting. You know it’s funny to me how white’s feel like they have so much say so, and hate to see black success in America.
