Mother Charged With Moving & Leaving Son Behind

Precious Walker, 23, of Atlanta is accused of leaving her son behind after moving.

A mother in Georgia is charged with child neglect after moving and leaving her child behind.
Police say 23-year-old Precious Walker packed up her stuff and moved from Smyrna to Norcross on May 4 without her 7-year-old son, adding that she didn’t even have contact with him for more than two weeks, reports CBS Atlanta.
Walker told the TV station that it didn’t happen that way at all, and police are lying. She said that she left her son in Smyrna with a friend so he could finish the school year there.
“I needed that help. I really did need help. My apartment got burned up, and I was trying to find another,” Walker said.

This isn’t as simple as either side is letting on. Wait to find out exactly what happened before condemning the mother.
We used to say ” your mother sent you to the store and when you came back she moved” but i didnt think people actually did it. I see charges being filed.
Look at this woman’s face readers, she is desperate and calling for help. I do believe her story. The so called friend was looking for gains in some way and did not receive, so she let lose. Her day will come.
The first question, where is this “friend?”This story needs more. There is really nothing here. It is basically an introduction leaving the readers with questions and basically not knowing what happened? This article is making the reader now leave this site and to go search another site to find out the information they want. This article should contain everything.
From the look on her face, i don’t think she was leaving her child behind intentionally.Not taking her son out of school and leaving him w/ someone is a logical explanantion..ppl do that all the time not taking kids out of school for some reason. She just had some nosey neighbors and police took it to another level..good luck sista!

i believe her story but sweetheart to cover ur ass you should’ve wrote that s**t down what you ur friend agrreed to and you both sign it so nobody gets in trouble let this be a lesson to ya if ya don’t want them cops in ya business do s**t the right way instead word of mouth cux verbal agreements mean s**t unless recorded
I must say this is very sad and may have happen just as she stated. sometimes the people in who you trust, should not be trusted and this may be the case. i pray all thing work out for her and her son. also we must remember what the devil mean for bad god mean it for good. and another note for those of you with all that stupid talk tis and tat stop it and use proper words.

yeah sketch-of-bmore made me think…there were 3 home alone movies where white people left their kid at home and the world thought it was cute…black people leave a kid with a friend and it is neglect…he said she said…she should have gave the friend or a relative notarized power of attorney…etc..for some odd reason..i think the “friend” was tired of watching the kid..or the mother didn’t contact the friend while she was gone or something…someone is not telling everything…or someone is just plain lying…either way..the kid is in the middle of this
It’s sad how single moms are mistreated by law enforcement, an child services. I pray for that mom…………..
If she had appointed her “friend” legal guardianship over her son, she would not be in the situation that she is in now.. A very hard lesson learned though..

I think the cops are trying to trump up charges against this woman…Helloo, she had just undergone a traumatic event?? She and her son were DISPLACED by a fire, and she had to be sure that this didn’t impact the normalcy of HIS life. That’s what mothers DO; I am so sure that it didn’t even go down the way the cops are trying to make it seem. Her so-called “friend” probably got money-hungry, then realized that all the rumors about welfare moms getting over bigtime is a fallacy. There’s no big government “payday” available to people caring for kids, and so they decided the kid was no longer welcome. The poor mom is trying to get a place together for her baby, and this is the thanks she gets…Sheesh!

See this is were SIGNED doc**entation comes in. She should have gotten her friend to sign a doc**ent saying she would care for her son until the end of the school year. But bless her heart, she probably didn’t even think this type of drama would come out of it. My heart goes out to her.
