talk about vanity…tha pretties takin it too far now…LOLOLOLOL

I am saddened to see the name of my illustrious sorority tainted by a few women who clearly are misinformed. Granted, there is a statute of our current president, but it is for the purpose of recognizing who was leading our great sorority at the time of our 100th birthday; the amounts are greatly exaggerated & misstated. I feel it is imperative to comment, just so people don’t get a false or negative idea of what my sorority is really about: service to all mankind. I know I, like all of my sorors, will continue to advance the ideals upon which the sorority was founded & not give credence to the circulating rumors.

i am not surprised…at all…

these fraternities are not about uplifting their communities or supporting the very institutions that made it possible for them to amass that type of money…

$900,000 on a statue is probably just a drop in the bucket compared to what the collective bunch hands over to the asians on weave…

I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY…I AM A PROUD MEMBER OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC. I REALLY HOPE IT ISNT TRUE WHAT OUR PRESIDENT HAS DONE.
IF SHE DID IT…IT REALLY MAKES US AS A WHOLE LOOK REALLY BAD.

Although this is not my Sorority (Z-Phi) I want to said there are always a few who misrepresent our lovely organizations. We may not know if all the facts in this story is true or not. But please know those who are misinformed about fraternities and sororities our community involvement is huge.

this is prime example of what’s wrong with our community from the rooty to the tooty…

economic empowerment is one of the keys to our future. this reality is so fundamental. why are negros scared to be industrious…

you can spend $900,000 to build a statue, but you won’t make that type of investment to build businesses…

businesses that create jobs, that create wealth and a healthier enviornment in our communities. yes, i agree, as blacks we are the only ones holding us back…all across the board…

My prayers go out to the Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Sometimes the actions of a few can cloud the good works of many. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.and I know first hand all of the work that all of the Sororities and Fraternities contribute to their communities. Don’t be dismayed, this is just an obstacle that your organization will overcome. This experience will only make you stronger. You didn’t make it this far (100 years – wink) to be dismantled now. Keep up the good deeds that you continue to accomplish.

first i want to see her and then the million $$$remake of her,and she better be fine as hell.if not some big sistas in aka(AND I MEAN BIIIIGGG)sistas should send her azz through another hazing much worst than what she went through yrs ago.

First of all how can you be so vain as to listen to just one side of the story. Our president didn’t commit these hellacious acts and I for one will not sit here and allow you, the public criticize her or our sorority. None of that so called $900.000.00 was used on her as an individual. This money was spent to defray cost of the Boule’ which was held last year in D.C. Get a grip people. We are that stupid to do for one what hasn’t been done for others or will not continue in the future. Furthermore, when the board of directors speak (remember they are a voted in group of trusted people) that’s it. When they were voted in to take office, it was done with the belief that we can trust they will do the job adequately. Don’t complain now because they did something you didn’t like (probably b/c your vote didn’t win or you didn’t vote at all). Have a beautiful day!

wowwwwwwwww. I am not a member of AKA but know of members. This sorority has been said to be stuck up and stick upon themselves. I have heard that all my adult life, but I feel what’s make them stuck up because they want respect and everyone with no status to meet their expectations of someone or what and my answer to that is yes. Just by someone’s action which happens to be yall president just made it impossible to think of your sorority as just that. Everyone in a high position should be watched and apparently this woman wasn’t watched enough. Ok it is not uncommon to have a statue, but what’s her that important over anything else that needs immediate attention like helping out your community or your fellow man. Vanity, vanity, and more vanity.

They Call me it is not that serious

That is just so…extravagant and conceited. Who does that? How self absorbed does a person have to be to essentially steal money from a fund that isn’t for personal use just to get something personal…that’s like having a 24k bust of yourself in every room in your house. I have AKA’s in my family and I’ll pray for everyone..greek or non-greek. Because I’m sure the families of these ladies are just as mad. Those funds could have been used for something beneficial, like giving to a charity or something.

My organization doesn’t have these problems either. Because of the love for your sorority, I understand your defense. But C’mon, ya’ll voted her in and now the woman you trusted as a leader has pushed the vanity trigger to far. Don;t think for a second she was the only one, she is just the only one who got caught. Whether it’s true or not, serious or not, your sorority could not contain the story and now the press has put the AKA’s on blast. I hope for the organization, you can settle this quietly, but it just goes to show you have quantity and not quality women which has always been said about the AKA’s. Not to mention the the snobbishness and vanity. Ladies thank your President for confirming the sin of vanity and also confirming that there is no sisterly love if you are sueing each other. NOW THAT IS FUNNY AND A SHAME. Z~PHI!!!!!

By no means do i condone this madness displayed by our president, but I will uphold the integrity of my sorority. Please spare me with stories about your other sororities and how there is nothing like this happening in your community. Alpha Kappa Alpha is and always will be the classiest, most intelligent, and well-known and respected African-American sorority in the world, so please dont try to make this seem as if the world is coming to an end because one soror fell off. W
