That was cold and crazy. Why is it that some police officers feels as if they can do whatever they want? I watch Cops and sometimes I thin that the force use upon unarmed people is unnecessary. Why would it take 8 fat ass police men to subdue one petite 150lbs man?

I saw that video. It was horrible. About time this cop goes to jail. We need to look back at other cases like that and prosecute those officers too.

I saw the horrid video courtesy of BET News brief…and there is nothing on that video that can justify the outcome. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. And even my nephews were like, “why did he shoot him, he wasn’t doing nothing, he couldn’t move.” Out of the mouth of babes…

For the higher ups to try to disillusion the public into thinking, “wow, maybe he made a mistake and meant to use the taser” is to assume that we are indeed ….brainless and blind. You have an officer knee in his back…more than a few officers were around him, where was the threat? And nothing ever surfaced about the supposed fight that cause the officers to be there to begin with?

It’s New Year’s Eve/Day, of course they would be loud.2009 not even three hours old ….umm-umm-ummph. It’s the Bell case all over again…

Now we can hope for justice that the officer will be punished to the fullest extent of the law as would any of us if the situation were reversed, but we can count on, as history has constantly shown us, that he will be acquitted and asked to resign his resignation. WoW…is all I can say??? Let’s just hope that he don’t get off on some bogus technicality…

I believe that the anger we ALL feel is justified but we must also make sure that we give justice a try as well. This situation occured because Mehserle dished out his own justice. He has to be tried according to the law. I don’t like it as much as the rest of you but that is the way things have to go down. The prosecution has a STRONG case and if Mehserle gets a halfway decent attorney he can plead to either negligent homicide or manslaughter and may serve about 5 yrs if that. But all the talk of Murder charges just isn’t rational. You have to remember that this is a aw enforcement officer. The only reason he’s even being questioned is because he got caught. If no one videotaped the incident then he would be facing no charges, still be employed as a BART officer, and more than likely Oscar Grant woudl have been portrayed as a violent gang memeber who resisted arrest with force and had to be taken down. That’s just the way the system works people. It’s been that way for a very long tiem and it won’t change any time soon if it changes at all. I knwo it sounds sad and unfair but it is what it is and we should be used to it.

As much as i understand what your saying Magikk you are talking like a defeated negro. Thats our biggest problem as black people we have a defeatist attitude or we have a violent attitude no room for thought or change. We eact at both end of the spectrum hence the reason why nothing gets done or no change occure we need to fuu and lobby and do not let it rest till justice is served. But instead what we do is get angry for a few minutes then tuck our tail between our legs and sulk off in our own little corner somewhere. Change only happens when you do all that is possible to bring it about b***hing and complaining about the system isnt even a solution but an additional problem.
