Here we are, another week of news consumed and we want to hear your voice! Tell us your opinion about Joe Lieberman and the health care debate, Obama’s falling approval rating, climate change and the shockingly high rate of unemployment in Detroit (nearly 50%!).

Also, Obama’s latest poll numbers show his approval rating is down below 50% but he gave himself a B+. We polled Blackplanet members to find that most of you believe he should get a B.

SUBMIT YOUR VIDEOS HERE telling us what you would grade Obama so far and why. What are the most important issues to you? Is Obama addressing them satisfactorily? How is he handling issues like health care, Afghanistan and climate change?

You could end up on television! Washington Watch is a show hosted by CNN’s Roland Martin. It is a place for Black America to have its voice heard, to ask the hard questions to the lawmakers & politicians that represent us and to speak up!

So what are YOUR thoughts?

Nobody could have predicted we go from losing 700,000 jobs a month last November to losing 11,000 jobs a year later. He deserves credit for that. He also gets credit for not going to war with Russia over Georgia like McCain and the republicans were pushing, as well as not over-reacting to them having nuclear subs in in the Atlantic off our coast earlier this year. Had McCain been in office we would have gone to war with Iran over their undisclosed nuclear sites. Other than that, I think democrats are pretty silly if they think the federal government’s domestic agenda will solve all their problems. The fact is local and state policies have more bearing on your everyday life than anything the president can do from the oval office. That means you got to wake up and pay attention to what your governor, mayor, D.A., school board, commissioners, and what have you are doing because the national government just funnels money to these folks. They don’t make the laws or policies that affect your everyday life directly. So all this stuff with health care, climate change, and the deficit are irrelevant at least for the next couple years. So he has his first term to get that stuff done before I count it against him.

    Solid B

Is there anything lower that “F”? Other than demonstrate that he’s a egotistical, self-centered, uninformed, unqualified man-child who can’t even keep his OWN crib secure, WHAT HAS HE DONE????

I’m not sure he’s done anything other than help in re-branding America, and lowering our expectations of ourselves.

But unless he actually does anything except continue Bush administration policies (like the troop surge and bank bailout), that superstardom he enjoys will soon fade.
