There are at least eight-hundred million to a billion people of African descent around the world with approximately seven-hundred million living on the continent of Africa. Blacks reside in most European nations and in most of the little islands like Haiti/ Dominican Republic, Barbados and so on. If we gonna keep defining ourselves as “black,” instead of black american, negro, Nubians, African American (African Descent) or Hebrew (Hebrew slaves descents) than we need 2 define what black is. Is it our skin that makes us black, our features, our hair, our terminology, or our culture? Because Indians, spanish, and sum middle easterns have similar skin and hair like us. There’s ppl all over the world, with black skin, such as Blackanese, Afro-Latinos, Mulattos, Arabians, Armenians, Saudis, and even silcians. But does that mean, they’re black, because of there skin?

The point Im trying to make is, since the word “Black” is being used, we must realize, that Black skinned ppl will never be extinct, as long as they integrate with other races. Because our genes are stronger. If any thing, the white skin ppl, are being extinct, not the darker skinned

And I thought greens were healthy already, but she’s doing something different and they’re not quite as good. There is nothing wrong with Native Americans, Italians, Irish, Jews, Ethiopians, Nigerians, Liberians (Ex American and so forth) or any other race or ethnicity having extreme pride in their heritage. Racism is a different animal and the actions that follow racist thinking are monsterously evil.

Having said all that, I cannot see any of the “major” identified races going away for any reason anytime soon. I get what u r saying though about self-identifying with ones race(s) and ethnic hisotry and I know it is important for several reasons but look at the Native Americans. There might be 1 million left on the planet and most live on reservations and suffer from unbelievably high infant mortality, suicide, alcoholism and more yet they are not dying out physically or due to a lack of self-awareness. I’d have to say they are light years closer to such than Black people. Did u know that Native people have been so devastated that we have an act called ICWA (indian child welfare act) that prohibits adopting Native children by non-Native people without prior approval from the leadership of that “tribe” nation so as not to completely destroy them racially? Now that is f**king close but still not really close to happening any time soon. Black people r in no way even close to that kind of situation. Not here, Not in Brazil, not in most parts of Africa. My son is growing up knowing all his Black and White relatives. He spends time in everyone’s home, at all parties and get-togethers, yes, even though I can’t dance I go to the parties. I can, however, or should I say, i used to play a nasty game of basketball and have “surprised several of my relatives, but that is probably because they thought, when first meeting me, that I was an old White guy and underestimated my hops and quickness. U would have died to see the look on some of their faces…:) I digress. My son is not growing up like i did, knowing sports, he is growing up learning to read and write music, studying math, science, technology and he’ll read everything and be as prepared as possible for the distractors on all sides. He’ll know, as he knows now that he is mixed Black and White and he will be proud of both yet realistic about how he is seen by the rest of the world.

That is not thinning out anything. There is no better or worse in that situation. He would not be better off with a Black dad and mom or a White mom and dad than he is now. And it does not hurt either race that he is mixed. There will always be Black Blacks and White Whites and guess what, Red headed people are perhaps the most recessive of all, outside of albino genes, and they ain’t going anywhere. They make up about 4% or maybe less of all people yet they are still around. DNA shows that Ramses the Great from 1200 yrs before christ had red hair as did his father who worshiped the god of red hair or the red god in Egypt. Now that is a long time for that gene to dye out but look around and u will see a lot of naturally red headed White people and some Blacks too running around. Didn’t Malcolm say that Red Fox was known as Red because he had red hair? Shiit, Black people aren’t going anywhere.

This is a little off the subject, but the election of Obama did not expose the growth in America as it relates to racial issues as much as it exposed the divide and gave opportunity for the political Right to show their blood thirsty fangs like Dixiecrats of the 50′s. I may be a full fledged idiot but I am hopeful that all my conservavtive friends (yes, I’m a progressive Liberal with conservative friends and an atheist with christian, Jehovah Witness, Mormon etc, friends too) but I am hopeful that the moderate conservative and Libertarian friends I have break from the Republican Party. Funny thing, a Libertarian friend and I had lunch the other day and he denounced the Tea Party, as did a conservative Catholic friend. Both these men r good people, we just disagree on certain social and economic issues. Perhaps there is some hope for reason and logic and sanity to win out.

HEAD-HUNTER305- I lived in Reading PA which is one of the most racially diverse cities around. When I go through that city, as well as Lancaster and Allentown and see Whites and Puerto Rican’s and Blacks married and walking around with their kids I get high as a kite. I sat in a resturaunt the other day and there were about 30 Blacks, 15 Latino and 30 Whites. I sat there and laughed in a gitty kind of way at how god damned fortunate i am. the other day, just before the snow storm hit, i stood in line at a local Giant and grinned from ear to ear while looking around me and seeing what must have been 100 black men, women and children, about 50 Mexican and other Latino’s and about 80 Whites from workers to managers to patrons. I couldn’t hold in my smile. I feel as if I am the most fortunate man on earth that i can go inside my home, outside my door, 4 blocks to the local Giant and to work where I am surrounded by diversity. Maybe this is crazy but if so, so be it. It is beautiful to be where I am and to share in what I share in and to see what I see. No one feared anyone or hurt anyone or disrespected anyone because of race. What a f**king treat and blessing to be part of that every single day. But if I go a few miles east or several miles west or south or north it becomes very stale and conservative and less open, so my eyes remain open to that reality also.

She said exactly what I am saying. What is wrong with wanting to preserve yourself? If you start with a bucket of stark white paint and add orange to it, then red, then black, then yellow etc…guess what…that initial white paint is now gone..sure there MIGHT be a trace of it here and there through all of the other mixture, but when its splashed, it doesnt stand out…I personally prefer to stand out as opposed to being a mere trace…

FYI: Greens are not and have never been ‘healthy’. They were intitally seen as wild weeds that grew rampant, being one of the only viable sources of food, and consumable, people cooked them simply to have something on their stomachs. First of all, how can say that black children are endangered species, when accounting for only one city in one state? that’s false. second of all, if you know anything about sexual reproducing, you would know that as long as a species or race reproduce more than die off, then they are in no danger of being extinct. All races regardless of skin color, are having babies more than their not. And anyways, Blacks and Hispanics are having more babies than whites as of today. Look it up, 20 years from now blacks and Hispanics will be the majority of the population in the U.S. This is why the KKK are mad at the government for their poor responsibility of border control. Yes, you are right but from my education in Europe the black population is bigger than 1.8 billion. How that came about? Asians as people here like to call them are not one color just like Latinos. Apparently if you take all the light brown, brown, black, even red races into account the white truly are the minorities. To prove this about a year to two years ago I believed it was either Times or Newsweek magazine stated that white women are not having children like they used to. The few who do have them doing it very late in life most likely while single or married late in life. In those situation they either have one child and an adopted.There are the other group that just adopted and have no biological children. The days of birth control have seriously taken over which is why the church try to discouraged the white women from using birth controls. You all know which church I am talking about.

I see an entirely different picture. What i see & hear is quite different from ur comment. I see thousands of years of a very diverse population of Black people who reach from top to bottom from left to right and all things and points in between. I see Black people as diverse as any population and not so monolithic in any area as is stereotyped by some and when i apply that to ur comments i simply do not see what u see because my premise is that Black people have always been diverse.

I can’t talk about purity of race with any real authority other than to say that if it ever was, it will never be again. Culturally, once the small group divided into two small groups they developed different cultures. She ignores the fact that Egyptians Ethiopians, West Africans and Sub Saharan Africans were never united under one cultural umbrella and have been known to look different from one another for thousands of years. What traditions, what religions, what names, what norms, what values, what genetics, what hair styles, what dances, what laws, what rules, what hierarchy, female headed or male headed…U cannot expect me to believe that prior to European involvement Africans never went to war with each other over differences of some sort. Aren’t the orange and red and yellow gone too and the Black as well will no longer be black; however, paint is not a gene and genes can and do pop up in full bloom all the time, even the recessive ones. Look at how the gene for red hair still pops up in Black people. I explained in my first post that red heads are about 4% of the world population (could be a little less or more) and that’s a recessive gene yet it just ain’t going away.

Also, there are hundreds of millions of Blacks and Whites, Yellow’s and Reds who will never, ever, ever cross-pollinate.

Lastly, I came to know a man from West Philly who said to me that he had not met a White person until after he got out of high school. Never even met a White person until he got out of high school, so even in America there are populated, and isolated, sections of this country where the races don’t even cross paths except through television. And I know White people who grew up having never seen a Black person.
