My boyfriend lived near an old white couple in a black neighborhood. We walked to the store from his moms house alot, they never spoke when they were spoken to, they would yell the “N” word to the kids if they got 2 close to their yard. My boyfriend saved the old ladies life, she was smoking with an oxygen take and her house was on fire oneday when he was going to the store. He ran into her house and carried her out bcoz she was trying to save picture and other items while her oxygen take was about to explode. 5 seconds after he got her out it blew up and she was almost apart of the explosion. Their hate was so strong they never said thank you, and when he passed by their home their continued to look at him with hate in their eyes. They are dead now, both died 2 yrs ago. They never said thank you. My boyfriend was so modest about it he didn’t even want to get on the news as a hero. The news man had to beg him for about an hour for an interview.

Second Example. Looking at me, you would not be able to tell that my moms side of the family is white, black and Indian, bcoz my skin tone is more of that of my father. My moms father is white and indian. So her side of the family is all light skin. I caught hell when I was about 8 yrs old and older. I was called jetty black, chocolate, darky by my youngest uncle. Then my cousins and him would all laugh at me like I was a joke becoz I was darker than them. My uncles(6 of them) are all light skinned and so are their kids. So it’s safe to say that I was the darkest cousin. My mom is dying of cancer rite now and I don’t give a f**k. She treated me like cinderella, and my two sisters like queens because they are light skin. My father also would give them what ever they wanted. He bought both of them cars, he didn’t even want to give me $300.00 on a car note. My sister’s got nice clothes, jewelry, the credit cards to shop, they played in the band, wat ever they wanted. I don’t speak to either of them becoz they are caught up on skin color like white people. My father had two strokes and broke his hip, can’t even write right now, but the last time I saw him, I let him know that when he dies, not to expect me at his funeral. Racism can make you hate your own family.
