From TMZ

We’ve learned Brandy has just reached a settlement with the kids whose mother died in the singer’s 2006 car crash.

Awatef Aboudihaj’s two children will receive a total of $600,000 — $300,000 each — according to court documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court moments ago.

Aboudihaj died in 2006 after her car was struck by Brandy’s Range Rover near the interchange of the 405 and 101 freeways in Los Angeles.

Her husband, Marouane Hdidou — who has yet to settle with Brandy — rejected his part of a $1.2 million settlement offer in February.

The fact that Brandi is actually owning up to her role in the mother’s death (instead of finding an attorney to somehow make it the mother’s fault) is commendable.

I pray that both families can heal over time…and goodness knows, this will take a lot of time.

Brandy looked pretty in that photo :). For those attacking Brandy you need to KNOW what actually happen (and not speculate). This was what you call a “freak” accident and one that could have happened to ANY of us. Brandy’s truck is not what killed the victim but another vehicle instead. This horrible accident was a “chain reaction” which initiated from a rear end hit from Brand and the small (compact) Corolla spinned sideways into an additional lane and was hit. In other words it was a domino effect. Scary thought of how it happened but when you are merging into a traffic jam in LA it can be a NIGHTMARE. If you haven’t driven in this type of traffic it is near impossible to understand. I pray for both families involved becsue this was such an unfortunate situation. It is pointless in rediculing or blaming Brandy…I am sure she has done enough of that on her own!!! We all make mistakes and I respect her for owning up to hers.
