He got mad because a black man had the audacity to ask for his badge number and his name.

All he had to do was first, not go in. Second, when Mr. Gates brought back his id and explained the situation, leave. He made it worse than it needed to be.

He may be a ‘good man’ or whatever, but maybe he need needs to retake his own sensitivity course and understand where he went wrong in this matter.

Also, if he is all this good of a man everyone claims he is, why can’t he meet with Mr. Gates privately and discuss the matter?

This goes to show us that racism is alive and its getting worse. The lesson that need to be learned until the mirror can see itself there will always be a fracture that never can heal…

what makes me so mad is the old white woman who made the call. has she ever went an introduced her self before this incident if she wouldve taken tha time to go over and meet him we would not b in situation; and so what if pres obama took sides it wouldnt b a big deal if our pres was white. until a white person is born again black they wont understand it takes me back to pres obama’s inauguration when a week before. Former v.p. dick cheney so call hurt his back so he had to go to the inauguration in a wheel chair thats was the slickest thing a white man could do to disrespect our pres by not standing when he was sworn in now here’s a man that has had multiple heart surgery’s but after every one of them you’ve never seen him in a wheel chair pretty damm slick if u ask me!!!

AND WHAT I WANNA KNOW IS HOW CAN A WHITE MAN TEACH A RAICAL PROFILING CLASS WHEN HE HAS NEVER BEEN DISCRIMANATED AGAINST HE WILL NEVER KNOW HOW IT FEELS SIMPLY BECAUSE HES NOT BLACK!!!!

where he thinks because he works i Harvard and he is a prominenet figure on that campus community that he thinks hes above the law by talking back to the police.We all know white people are the only one have that oddacity to talk smack to the police.

Ever thought that Gates is a BOULE? thats why hes getting so much publicity because you and I know if it was you or I, no media coverage and the community could careless about you.

whether gates has an ego or not, does not make it right for a man to harassed at his own home…its still ridculous…people are finding reasons to legitimize the actions of the neighbors who saw “two black men trying to break in”….and a racial profiling course, NOW they say they have one….if so they all need a retake it because it hasn’t quite sunk in.

Peep this though people. From listening to the “released tapes” the white women doesn’t really mention race. But in the police report, Crowley says the “witness saw two black men …..” I wonder how that happened? If he would add something that wasn’t stated by the “witness” why should I/we believe that he would leave out things that might make him/the police look bad??????

Just because I flip burgers at McDonald’s does not make me a ground beef expert. And on the same note, just because a few black officers stand up in my behalf does not mean I would have anything to do with them otherwise. I know plenty of people who will speak, smile, chat and pat you on the back, but would never invite you into their homes. Neither would they agree to even meet for a job related picnic during non work hours. I HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN, over and over again. I have seen people who do not even want you walking into the building with them, or would not even escort a young woman to her car after dark. Now I can’t say I see no reason why whites are hostile toward blacks because SOME blacks are criminal. (Just as SOME whites are racist) But if whites don’t want to be all lumped in together as racists, don’t lump us all in together as criminals.

WOW!!! This is ridiculous and absurd, and definitely an abuse of power. Yeah ok he teaches a course in racial profiling, but the only reason he probably teaches the course is so he can find loopholes in the system to take the profiling he does to the next level and get away with it.What he need to do is take a course in COURTESY, PROFFESIONALISM & RESPECT.Cause if im correct, by him being a officer whose job is to serve and protect, after finding out Mr. Gates was not involved in no type of criminal activity and was in fact the owner/resident as well as a tax paying citizen who contributes to his salary the officers’ only job thereon was to assist Mr. Gates, but i guess the fact that Mr. Gates (a black scholar) owned such a house in such a community without being a sports or entertainment figure really intimidated Mr. Crowley and crushed his ego. WOW WHAT ARROGANCE!!!

why does it seem that white america is happy that a well educated black man was treated wrongly.I know we are hated by much of white america because we are physically superior and we age far better than any other race on the planet.now it seems that if where smart that makes thing worse.this white cop is almost openly being praised for what he has done and thats a shame.had mr.gate been white the officer probably would have been suspended or fired ,but because mr.gates is black it seems like he is being rewarded for what he has done.for some young black people this hit us hard cause it seems that no matter how far we advance in society there will still be racist redneck cops readdy to harras you.we have organizations like the naacp who are supposed to help,but they havent been any help for awhile.We as black people need to come together and start another organization,one that will work harder to make a change and not just sit down because we have a black president now.we can do that people because we are strong and we need to come together so we can save us.
