Very very positive story and should be encouraging for others. The one thing that stuck out though, was her parents saying no. I still think too often in this day and age its outr on family/people that holds us back from our potential. Luckily, she was hardheaded, but most kids would just be shut down and not want to even try.

This is a profoundly positive development for a young, African american lady, and we all rejoice with the family. However, someone still managed to spew stupidity about the story. How could anyone deduce that the father is mean and not morally upstanding, just by reading this short article. For God’s sake, the man, initially, declined because he knew he could not afford to foot the bill.

We were forced over here. We shuld be keeping a reference to our homeland, otherwise we r a ppl with no homeland, no language, no culture. Blacks were forced with no choice over here on big boats. Whites came to America on big boats too. boat people too.

Whites speak their language, asians, hispanics speaks theirs and came here by choice not as slaves. What do blacks speak?

Blacks speak english with no knowledge of beautiful African language whatsoever.

Black women were raped by slavemasters and conceived children.

Still have the white slave masters last names to this day, instead of beautiful proud African names.
What were your original African family names?

Blacks are more white washed than care to admit.
