does anyone remember VH1 in the early 90′s. You couldnt find a black person let alone a rap song on that channel and look at them now.
A little off topic but point being NASCAR needs our help! black is cool! Black sells! Notice how advertisers target younger demographics with a hip hop commercials or some “cool black guy/girl”.
Its all about the money!

I’m 41 yrs old a African American male and a life long Auto Racing,and NASCAR(National Association Stock Car Auto Racing)fan!…Yes traditionally Nascar,was what we all called a “Red-Neck” hick,Good ol’ boy sport.I as a long time fan and supporter,am glad to see that Nascar,itself has taken a big step in bringing Diversity to the sport.Their has been Black driver’s in the past.A very noted one being Wendell Scott.Some of you may or may not know this.Matter of fact Richard Pryor honored him by doing a movie called “Greased Lightening”where he played the character Wendell Scott.By these student’s doing what they did will now open a whole new demo-graphic,not only to Nascar but to the sport of Auto Racing on a whole.

Excellent point Jack Stephen1. I can’t stand NASCAR and it’s hillbilly image. I don’t support things that don’t support me. Racing is boring anyways.

even though NASCAR has come mainstream, it can never shake its redneck image. its fans don’t like the fact that it has gone mainstream; they feel it has been taken away from’em. nobody wants to attend an event with a sea of rebel flags in the parking lot.
