From the NY Post:

THE death of Michael Jackson has given his older brother Jermaine Jackson an opportunity to resuscitate his career, which he’s trying to do with the help of an unlikely partner — Larry King’s wife, Shawn. But it’s not proving to be an easy task.

The two planned a “Happy Birthday Michael Jackson” televised tribute in front of a live audience of 250,000 in Vienna on Aug. 29, but couldn’t get it organized in time.

“We wanted to make sure that everyone [who] wanted to be there could be there,” Shawn explained the other night on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”

It’s also possible they couldn’t line up enough talent, sponsors and broadcasters.

I don’t blame Michael for secluding himself from his family in the later years of his life… well at least those who are acting like Jermaine and his father Joe. Jermaine, I had mad respect for because he always seemed to be the guy to stand up for the family whenever a crisis or scandal comes up. He always seemed to be the spokesperson on their behalf. Not only did I admire that, I also thought it was downright sexy to see a man taking on the stance of a leader. Now, since Michael’s passing, you got Jermaine and Joe, Joe and Jermaine. Everyday these two lead a news story about something. It’s beginning to be more than just addressing the public on the behalf of the family and giving updates on what happened to Michael. Yes, it is starting to seem like Jermaine is joining his father in “pimping a corpse” to make themselves famous again. Harsh words, but that is just what both of these dudes are doing and it’s ashame.

There was a lot of rivaling between Jermaine and Michael (and the other brothers) when they all performed as the Jacksons/Jackson 5 because fans were more crazy about Michael than the rest of them. That’s why they were broke up as a group. And let’s not even go there with the Victory album. On the videos, some performances, and promotional interviews either Jermaine was missing or Michael was missing or both. So I’m sure egos and jealousy played a major factor in their personal as well as professional relationships.

You got Jermaine using Michael’s name and tragic death to crank out another “Dynamite” hit while hoping in spirit his brother “Don’t take it personal”. Joe seems to be “Working day and night” trying to find new ways to use his son’s name, death, and private business to make a “Destiny” for his crappy record label, hoping that his career will be “Goin’ Places” behind it. The both of them are just “Off the Wall” and need to “Give it up”.

What can I say Michael, seems like “You can’t Win”. But where you are now, which I hope is with God, you still got the “Victory” over them all.
