It’s funny how he the police office pointed out that a “Pipe used to smoke drugs” fell to the ground. How do we know it was not the officers pipe if the ever was a pipe. The police love to shoot people and sprinkle crack on them similar to the way Dave Chappelle joked about in his shows which was a serious issue. I don’t know the police but this could be another example, I have a gut feeling. I hope his family investigates and demands an autopsy to make sure it was even the taser that killed him and not a bullet or something else. God Bless!

You commentors have to be kidding? All the guy had to do is show a ticket. Or, explain to the officer he did not have a ticket and why he was there, in that case.

Now, what’s so difficult about that, besides the fact he and apparently you people have emotional and mental problems and have no concept of simple civility.

I realize life is hard and particularly for blacks. However, you need to understand that when it begins to twist your mind to the point you can’t answer simple questions and handle simple situations appropriately, you need to seek help.

Because if you don’t, it’s going to cost you your life because a cop doesn’t know how far off the track you are and isn’t willing to take any risks with you and will treat you as though you are a maximum risk.

Anyone with common sense knows this and it’s simple.

It’s equally simple to refuse to acknowledge it and deal with the reality of it.

To xl_611 im glad you acknowledge how hard it is for African Americans i hope that’s sincere but i don’t know if you could truly ever understand just how hard it is I’ll give you an example i ride the lirr in NY at the time im on which is late at night the majority of people are white they are loud, vomiting, fighting, drinking beers,etc… no one ever bothers them yet i get off the train i see officers pull young black men to the back of the station to check them for no apparent reason and then there’s that word suspicious ya know the word they use to check people pull them over i really don’t know what the police definition of suspicious is it seems to be pants sagging du rags and brown skin and nice cars and im not just speaking from the top of my head this is what I’ve seen with my own eyes where as i define suspicious as a trench leather coat in 100 degree weather but hey that’s just me there are instances where i understand the police and understand the use of force which is not that often but just as you said the cops don’t know how far off track a person is the same can be said for them can’t remember the exact year either the late 70′s or early 80′s a black man was walking in the park a police officer shot him for absolutely no reason even his partner didn’t’ know what was going thru his mind the police officer got off said he had a seizure which he never in his life had before or after the incident he went to psychiatric hospital for a short time the man died so it’s not paranoia it’s life experiences that make us weary

The police have too much power. It’s good when policing works. However, there far too many atrocities that happen in our neighborshoods and with our people. The police IS run and owned by secret societies. There are many ‘serial killers’ on the force who do their dirty work under the cover of “midnight” & swing shifts. They have it pre-planned to kill a N****r and THEY DO IT! The KKK used to kill ‘brothers’ during rituallistic gatherings now it the Police! I just learned a scarey thing: In the “black arts” (white people belonging to secret societies who worship Satan), they practice Alchemy, demonology, and conduct rituals in attempt to make ‘gold’ and other precious metels. Here’s the shocker: One of the items in the recipe calls for a 1)black head, 2)black bird, or 3) A BLACK MAN! “IT’S CALL FIRST MATTER” Which they say is the base for everything. I lost sleep over this. Remember when the south had to pass an anti-lyncing law to stop these murderers. But all they did was transfer the killing to the police force. It’s disgusting and I’m feeling depressed.

Lemme say this.. Back home (New Orleans) I knew of a Homeless Guy that used to sit in front of a certain Gas station everyday. He was a threat to NO ONE. I (as well as many others) passed him going in and out of the Gas Station on MANY occasions. I spoke to him each time. He spoke back with a smile. He bothered NO ONE. One day, I hear on the news that a Police Officer Shot and killed that guy ‘in self defense’. He (the Officer) claimed that the Homeless Guy ‘savagely attacked’ him although the Officer had to admit that the Guy had NO WEAPON (obviously, because there was NO MENTION of one). This event took place in the WEE hours of the night also, when there are MINIMAL Witnesses (if any) around. I tell you.. That guy was NOT a threat to anyone. He was HOMELESS, HARMLESS & UNARMED!! I don’t know much about THIS situation except for what this article covered, but.. It sounds fishy to me. ;-)

Holes in this deal man; Man charging deputy several times? Then he was tasered (one time) Then the man got up and was tasered twice more. But don’t you also see this thing about having another man to whom you don’t know trying to hold your hand in public? sounds like a case of rejection? and the deputy just couldn’t handle it. sounds like one of those toilet incidents without the toilet. this time a gay deputy?

Now if thats not bad enough, a story has broken out of Ft. Worth Texas involving the police use of a taser. On April 18 of this year a man named Michael Jacobs was tasered by Ft. Worth police when he became combative. The man died. He had no drugs in his system. Yesterday the county medical examiner has ruled his death as a homicide. With no drugs in his system nor the prior use of any controlled substances, the Ft. Worth police are clearly on their heels and on the defensive because the use of the taser caused the death of an individual.

And the pigs have the audacity to say to serve and protect??

Policemen are having a ball using tasers on people even grandmothers and small children,that are not suppose to be deadly force.law enforcement should classify tasers as deadly force now,because they are killing people.

IT’S A LOT OF P***Y ASS COPS OUT HERE…FOR REAL!

Lottahips, I’m quite sincere and I should balance my comments with the fact there are indeed many psycho cops out there. Or,some who might appear to be psycho, but are merely poorly trained. Here’s how you can tell a good cop from a bad one.

A good cop is always fluid and relaxed. Personable, but business like and professional. He or she knows this does not mean they are not prepared to use force. It ONLY means they do not want to trigger any anxiety or hostility in the person they are contacting. Period.

A poorly trained or psycho cop is ALWAYS overly authorative. They want to cause anxiety or fear in the contact and thus set themselves up for the contact to over react. Which is probably what happened in this case and any variety of other cases. Such officers will always claim self defense, when actually they started it with the bullying.

Take for example where King County Washington deputy slammed a 15 year old girl for kicking her shoe off and it slid into his foot. Well,obviously he over reacted to the “threat”, where a non-psycho cop would have chuckled at her. And of course the news is full of far worse and so is this comment area.

The trick to dealing with cops is to treat the psycho with as much caution as you would a robber or kidnapper. Because that’s what they are.

As far as racism goes, I don’t know. I never get any slack from cops and they are as contemptuous of me as anyone I’ve seen.

However, my retaliation is while on the spot, I don’t deliever until they’re gone and I’m safe and sound.

Then I get on the ‘puter and send volumes of tersely worded complaints to everyone from his station commander to the state’s attorney general.

After a conflict with an off duty officer who threatened to show up at my home because he now had my plate number, I informed the state that he could well expect me to defend myself completely should he make that erroneous decision. And they’d better think twice about sending him in an offical capacity because of this incident.

Well, I heard absolutely nothing from them for obvious reasons. I expected however a bunch of cops to show up at my door for threatening a police officer…..

One more thing. I used the word cautious when dealing with psychos for a specific reason. Everyone is sensitive to the reactions of others, psychos are no different. You can tell when someone is being cautious with you, so can they.

It’s a matter of tuning them into the fact you are watching them carefully and thus likely to be prepared for any sudden moves. This alone can scare them off. They don’t like drawing attention to themselves and generally won’t start acting up until they are where there are no witnesses, etc.. They also don’t like having any signs of having been in a struggle.

Thus, if they do attack you it’s important to leave your mark on them. Don’t be afraid to hurt them out of a concern it might make them more angry. It really doesn’t matter at that point and it’s your only hope they’ll be apprehended later.

If you show fear however, that’s a clear sign you can be manipulated and that becomes a tool. Remaining calm, simply keeps them guessing. Being over confident or arrogant or what, now that might worsen things very quickly. Regardless of who you’re dealing with……LOL.

In short, keep your dealings with any strangers, polite and brief as possible…….

And let me not forget the comment by filmtress about serial killer cops. I prefer the term, homicidal maniac. Which is far from some crazed bug eyed lunatic suffering paranoiac delusions. These people are quite normal looking and quite personable.

I spent two hours identifying and describing the methods of such people in Seattle in ’04. I gave them names ranks and activities.

These people are not only on various police forces, but work in consulting and academia and business.

All of them are familiar, obviously, with profiling and personality analysis and obviously, have no trouble responding to situations which reflect what would be considered an ideal rating on such scoring systems.

Their methods are not always or necessarily to frame likely suspects under these scoring systems. They mix those who actually participate as well.

The thing to remember here is, if you’re innocent, you’re innocent and never ever give them an inch in their accusations.

In fact, the best thing to do is start in on accusing them.

It’s not a difficult case to make, once you’ve met them in person……

Doesn’t make sense to me, on top of that, if you’re getting charged(several times) do you really have time to tase that person and not get someone else in the process???
