I believe that it is a great Idea, take the money utilize it to make a statement to the younger crowd and generation about the responsibility that comes with being a able bodied ADULT when it comes to being intoxicated. If you are going to DRINK, stay at home, do not DRIVE, and above all while at HOME, if you are going to get mad, just go sit in the POOL (if you got one), or the tub or cold WATER.
No there is nothing wrong with the Money a concern should be is how the money gets disseminated to all of these Colleges, and let them know (if they do not already know) that it is earmarked for EDUCATION not the FRAT HOUSE.

I feel that it’s nothing wrong with the beer company donating money. People complain about other places the money could have gone, but the bigger picture should be that money was donated to fund education PERIOD!!! At least someone donated. Those who disagree, what are you doing to support schools? Let alone your child’s PTA?!

I agree with blackdiamond184 on this issue. The money should have been donated to inner city schools as scholarship money for disadvantaged youth to be able to go to college. Yes, we have government grants and loans but just think of the boost in hope that you would be giving to teens who would have never thought they could go to college in the first place? We need more college educated black men and women in America, and by donating this money to the public schools in urban or poverty stricken communities, even the ones in rural areas that lack the resources that these kids need to feel secure in knowing they have a future, we could be helping thousands of minority children get that little nudge or push they need to build the self confidence to even attend college. I mean, it’s great they are giving the money to minority colleges, but what about America’s minority children who will never go to college in the first place? I go on forums all the tine where the Anglo Americans complain about black and latino kids having all, these resources available to them that the white kids don’t have and there is no reason for minority children to be unsuccessful in this country. But white children living in poverty are afforded the same resources as minority kids living in poverty and they use them. So they can’t say that they don’t use the resources as well. Our minority children are thrown into a one size fits all learning system in our public schools with white teachers who expect nothing from these kids anyways. So they score low on achievement tests which are setup by white people for white people and then they say minority children lack intelligence because of the achievement gap. You have to look at race as well as economics when educating our kids, not just economics. So pour some of this money into our children’s early education and show them they have a future before they are even faced with the decision to attend any college whether it’s an HBCU, Community College, or Major University. Just my thoughts on this. Not knocking Coors for what they did. Just am very passionate about our youth and the money would have been better invested in them. Hell, let’s just say that I’m not impressed. If they did it for recognition, they would have gotten more recognition giving it to urban public schools. America…we need to stop cutting funding for our young children’s education and giving it to everyone and everything else. WOW! The Capitalist Society!!!

I think they should have donated that to inner city schools. Any one race college in a country full of different races is doing nothing but separating students from the rest of the world. This is america so people have a right to do that but there are still hungry people in this country not privilaged enough to even go to school.

Regardless of their history and what they have done to our people in the past, the fact is there are a lot of fortune 500 companies doing NOTHING for our young black youth, and coors/miller decided to actually DO something, and the moment they do you all are going to sit here and criticize them over it? Because of some shyt that happened 60 years ago? You all are going to impeed the process of historically black colleges and universities over some false pride and ego? Using race as an excuse and that we are being oppressed is sad, we are oppressing ourselves with this mentality, we are the most gifted and naturally talented race on the face of the earth, but because historically white people have told us otherwise we believe it? Don’t you think there was a purpose behind that? We still have this hatred for what whites did to use when all this happened decades ago, if we keep looking in the past we will NEVER move forward. Point is i’m glad that companies are stepping up and doing their part for the african-american community, and i applaud them for it, i swear mankind is so eager to hate something……
