Where are the standards? We are teaching acceptance, right? Teach these students how to ACCEPT rules and regulations, and that the world does not have to cater their every whim. Okay! Wait until a University President or someone in the upper echilon of a pretigious school tries this tomfoolery and see what happens. CNN, and the idiots like Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh, and the like will have a field day with this!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a matter of prestige. HBCU are like an oasis and why would I want to fill my oasis with that kind of behavior? Colleges and universities are preparing students for the real world and in real life, a person is free to be whoever they want to be... until they are on someone's time clock. As students, they are on the universities time clock. How you dress and behave is a reflection on the school. I am not homophobic, in the least. As a matter of fact, one of best friends is a lesbian. I can see the argument in tolerance, acceptance, social justice, freedom of expression, but in the workplace and depending on the job, rules like the dress code take precedence!

For instance, what if one of these students wore what he or she wanted and decided to become a teacher. Before doing that, the person must student teach. What school would allow a man dressed as a woman or woman dressed like a man to instruct those students? Teachers have an implied moral code of conduct that they adhere to. No one tells you that you CANNOT be a tranny stipper and do lap dances at night, and take half naked pics with people of the same sex and plaster them on social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, BlackPlanet, etc. You just don't do that. And to avoid projecting an image that is counterproductive to the kind of reputation and atmosphere they endeavor to maintain, I cannot find fault in them prohibiting this type of behavior.

People need to realize they can be whoever they chose to be on their own time and own dime. We, as African Americans, have all kinds of stereotypes, biases, stereotypes, and injustices that we fight on a daily basis despite the progress that has been made. Why tarnish the work that so many people have fought and died to create and uphold? There is nothing positive about RuPaul's Drag Race parading about the HBCU campuses. HEll! Even RuPaul knows when to put on a suit!!!!

Don't these people realize that whatever field they plan on going into when and if they graduate are going to require them to dress a certain way? I hate to assume but a degree most certainly will have you in a corporate setting and transgender dressing is not going to keep you there.

I understand his thought process on this. But the fact still remains if someone wants to dress like an a$$hole that's on them. Yes as men we should dress and act as though. But that's just how we feel, it's an opinion and shouldn't be imposed or forced on someone else. Besides the men that got scholarships, that tuition money has to be paid back. So with that said you should let adults be adults, bottomline!

Yes, because that's what being a Christian is all about, huh? Laughing at the "eternal damnation" of everyone that "got it wrong." Man, sometimes, I hate even identifying as a Christian because some of us are so quick to drop fire and brimstone on others without remembering that we've got our own issues that we deal with. If we spent half as much time working on ourselves as we do pointing the finger, Christians would be dangerous. But, instead we scoff and judge "big sin" (like homosexuality and murder) and turn a blind eye towards "small sin" (like gossip, lying, and giving people the finger in traffic). So, thanks msveevee1, for showing these heathens what true Christianity is.

On subject, though, Morehouse is not doing anything to promote diversity or tolerance or any of that other nonsense. They're image shaping, plain and simple. They wanna look a certain way to the public and they'll do whatever it takes to make that happen, including making gay people look less "gay", whatever that looks like...

I think the college's administrators are doing a wonderful and courageous thing about putting up this rules and abiding by them. That's wrong with this world and the ppl in it. They're so busy trying to fight for their rights to be them that they think there are no rules to follow in this world. Regardless if ppl break the rules or not still does not give ppl the right to break them. The gay right folks just are so disgustingly pathetic, I can't wait to see their faces especially on Judgement Day. By then it will be too late for them to realize that they've been making a fool out of themselves all this time. The look is going to be...priceless!
