Obama Congressional Black Caucus

From USA Today

President Obama said today it would be wrong for him to narrowly focus on the troubles blacks face in the recession, rejecting criticism from the Congressional Black Caucus that the government was ignoring the economic plight of minorities.

“I will tell you that I think the most important thing I can do for the African-American community is the same thing I can do for the American community, period, and that is get the economy going again and get people hiring again,” the president told Richard Wolf of USA TODAY and Justin Hyde of the Detroit Free Press in an exclusive joint interview.
On Wednesday, 10 members of the black caucus — of which Obama was a member when he was a U.S. senator from Illinois — boycotted a key House committee vote on financial reform. The group said it would push harder for Congress and the White House to tackle problems including an unemployment rate for blacks of 15.7%, higher than the national rate of 10.2%

I didn’t vote for Obama. He is just a figurehead. He hasn’t done anything but bail out the greedy capitalists. I am a black man, and I have to say that Obama is absolutely wrong on this one. The private sector is retaliating against black people because of Obama. I knew that this would come. There is no excuse for unemployment for blacks to be so far behind the national average. The private sector is laying off and firing more black people and when the economy recovers, black people will be the last to experience the recovery unless they wise up and become entrepreneurial. We can’t rely on the government for a goddamn thing, and we really shouldn’t ask Obama for s**t. The private sector must create jobs, but they won’t because they hate Obama and black people.

Obama is not a great leader. He is not Hillary Clinton. The black people and the hootie snoots who voted for Obama and supported him are going to be the same people crying when Nancy Pelosi is giving up that gavel to the Republicans and Sarah Palin becomes president in 2012. There will be nothing the hootie snoots and black people can do then. People only voted for Obama because he is black. If Hillary Clinton is not running in 2012, I will be voting for Sarah Palin just as I voted for John McCain in 2008.

Healthcare will not pass, NJ is red, so is Long Island. The Democrats can forget about 2010. When Sarah Palin starts campaigning for Independent voters she will get them easily and those same voters will close their ears to Obama. What kind of message will he come up with then? Nobody will be listening to egghead Chris Mathews an those idiots on CNN sucking up to Obama, or maybe this time around they won’t suck up to Obie.

The Democratic party and Obama better get ready to pucker up and kiss Hillary Clintons ass and beg that woman to run against Sarah Palin because Obama will not beat Palin in 2012. “Yes We Can” just won’t sell. Sorry. Obama has a bad play book and he doesn’t know how to execute well. Obama is just not Hillary Clinton. The Democrats would have been better off with Hillary. Now they are going to lose it all because they want to be a bunch of suck ups and cronies.

I agree with what Maxine Waters has suggested that the President MUST insist that a percentage of the stimulus monies be appropriated to urban financial centers such as Community Banks, Credit Unions, etc. in order to get more African Americans back to work or gainfully employed who have graduated from college. I was disappointed that President Obama disagreed and has such a strong belief that the White-dominated banking system will be fair along racial lines and monies will automatically trickle down to these urban institutions and small businesses. But, health care and other issues being addressed for all Americans will automatically help African Americans if instituted successfully.

@ Monte The black levels of unemployment have ALWAYS been much higher than white except during slavery when everybody had a job.
The solution is not for us to be asking for handouts the solution is to take the massive amount of wealth in our hands now and support black owned businesses and we can reduce black unemployment to ZERO PERCENT.
Since healthcare DID PASS I guess your plans for kissing or up to the Alaskan quitter have been derailed a bit. Good luck with that.
