OPINION: What’s Islam Got To Do With Ft. Hood?

From the D.C. sniper to Ft. Hood, it’s un-American to blame black people or Muslims for what crazy people do.

Long before bloggers were given front-row seats at Milan Fashion Week, or the president took questions from a blogger at the White House, two writers from the online Underground News Network scored press passes to cover the trial of the D.C. sniper John Allen Muhammad.

The Web site’s editors followed some teachings of Islam and were fervent supporters of Muhammad, whose murderous rampage they believed was riddled with divine meaning. They traveled there to monitor the mainstream media covering the 2003 trial—me included—who didn’t realize that that the shootings were actually “like a message from a high priest” intended to “take black people to a higher consciousness.”

Right…

After I published my interview with this kooky pair, I got an e-mail from a friend who is a journalist of Arabic descent who happens to be Muslim. She joked that it’s bad enough they presented themselves as journalists. They would have to be Muslim, too!

    what i dont understand is why so many blacks convert to islam with our history of being treated like dirt you put yourself in a religion that treats women like a peace of property i just dont get it.

    blkman6ft6_inla do your history before you say something stupid. Islam has only been recently put in the light. It was just recently that the christian run United States allowed blacks and women to vote. It was the christians…your slave owners that beat…killed us. It was the christians that waged every war in the 20th century…The holocaust was started by a so called Christian….The civil war…etc…and then you have the hangings and beatings of blacks/jews…etc by the KKK..guess what religion they are? Christians…Do your history and read the Qur’an first before you say anything stupid again. Peace be upon you. Ignorance is not bliss, it is oblivion

    Ummmmmmm would it be because a muslim who practiced Islam who contacted the Taliban that did the shooting while ahouting Allah Akbar?????

    I am a Christian, but I respect Islam and I hold it high in regards to the One True God. I wish that brothas would take more time in comparing the scriptures instead of dividing them, maybe the greatest plan has yet to be unveiled

    This is the military and the government.Do you really think they’re going to unveil every detail of the incident. . .NO! Therefore, they use this incident to bring up 9/11 hoax. Look at the pattern for the last decade, every time there’s some sort of incident. They always connect it to 9/11 and Islam. Truth is Islam, Christianity and Judaism all are Abrahamic religion. Therefore, they have more similarities than differences. My people, if you continue to believe the media conglomerates whom are owned by 4 large companies with their so called NEWS. Then I suggest its time to pick up a holy book and find our true GOD because the conditioning has taken hold of your logical thinking, critical thinking and common sense.
