Police Kill Knife-Wielding Man In Chicago

Police have shot and killed a knife-wielding man who threatened an elderly bystander in Chicago’s downtown theater district.

Police say an officer also was hit by a shot fired by his own partner, but wasn’t seriously injured.

Officers responded about 1 p.m. to a report of a man “menacing people with a knife.”

They tried to subdue him with pepper spray but he fled and grabbed an elderly man, holding the knife to him on a crowded corner of Chicago’s storied State Street.

One officer tried to disarm the suspect. When he wasn’t successful, his partner fired his gun, hitting both the suspect and the other officer. The bystander wasn’t injured.

Police say the suspect could have been an aggressive panhandler who turned violent.

    Law Enforcement is supposed to work for the people but in reality, it is a brute fascist organization which is the last stronghold for the good old boy system. Most are afraid of police not just for there actions but also the backlash of some consequences. Simply put, the police can and will do anything they want and not fear anyone or anything but their own.

    The Chicago Police Dept is full of dumb thugs. Number one, I have yet to see this knife. Number two, the open fire on a crowded street – striking one of their own officers. I’m glad the old man is ok, but this sounds like sloppy, over-reactive police work to me.
