So many others are being threatened by law enforcement officers and these officers are continuously getting away with it.

I understand that police may be fearful of their lives based on threating music, but other artists have written and sang songs about the police that may be considered threating without an arrest to them. I think that the police had too much time on their hands and needed to make an arrest. An officer can get killed or harmed anywhere. Hell, most of them end up injuried or dying because of regular traffic stops with people who fear to go back or go to jail. At the end of the day, I think that Mr. Johnson should be released and the police need to find a better way to deal with the war on gangs.

(1) Whoever unlawfully harms or threatens unlawful harm to any public servant, to his or her immediate family, or to any other person with whose welfare the public servant is interested, with the intent or purpose:

(a) To influence the performance of any act or omission which the person believes to be, or the public servant represents as being, within the official discretion of the public servant, in violation of a public duty, or in performance of a public duty.

(b) To cause or induce the public servant to use or exert, or procure the use or exertion of, any influence upon or with any other public servant regarding any act or omission which the person believes to be, or the public servant represents as being, within the official discretion of the public servant, in violation of a public duty, or in performance of a public duty.

To truthserumX, take that case if you want to, and you’d lose it within 5 minutes. First of all, we don’t have rights just because we are human. We have certain rights because we are American. Go to Cuba or Korea and yell out that we can have rights cause we’re human…and then duck.

Yeah I was thinking about all the F**k the police songs over the years, and thinking its f**ked up he got 2 years for this. But none of the songs point out an officers name. I don’t I still think it’s retarded to sentence somebody over a song. Especially when it was done when he was a teen.

People write blogs to kill the President and entertainers everyday. Those are real people. They couldn’t arrest the man with the gun a Presidents healthcare reform rally but they can arrest this man for something he said. The minute he added those names to that song, it became a threat on their life, not some nonchalant, everyday rap song. At that moment, his freedom of speech doesnt apply to this matter. When was the last time anybody (Black, White, Indian, etc) could go around this country specifically targeting people with their act of violence and not get punished for it?

Lets face it, race is a very important factor when it comes to police harrassment. It seems like he didn’t actualy violate said law, the “threat” issued was not done so to stop the duty of the public servant (part 1a) or make them change any choice the public servant was making (part 1b).

But what’s intesesting about this statue is nowhere does it state there has to be any intent to follow out the threat. While it’s extremely broad, I wonder if being that it was made/released years prior still constitutes it as a threat, because an imminent threat and any random “threat” or so vastly different, and being that dude could have easily found the cops whose names he knew I would think the “threat” loses traction over time. Oh, that reminds me of when my boyfriend paper cut his finger becoz I told him to get out, but he was bleeding real bad, so I called the ambulance and the 5 cars of police showed up and arrested me for cutting him. I hadn’t touched the man at all nor were we fighting. Since I had never been arrested, I have a B.S. in Management and Accounting with a minor in Marketing and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance, the white lady prosecutor they tried to give me a 3rd degree felony to make sure I could never get work, which I have been discriminated against for the past 20 something years anyway without work, but all that education would be for nothing. She was in the county on a bench warrant for writing a threating letter to the judge that sentenced her. The letter named the judge and his family members and how she would hurt each of them. Some people are comparing his lyrics to Ice T’s “f**k the police”, but it’s not the same. We do have freedom of speech, but this guy’s lyrics seem more like a threat to me. He didn’t make it general. He mentioned the cops by name. That’s a personal threat. He probably would’ve get away with it had he said I’m a kill me a cop one day. That would’ve been a general statement. He said I’m gonna kill so and so. That makes it a personal threat. Since it was 2 years ago, they should have taken that into consideration before sentencing him for 2 years behind bars. I don’t see how that will rehabilitate him. If anything he’ll be more frustrated towards law enforcement and even carry out his threat when he gets out. That’s just my opinion. You have yours and I have mind. Don’t forget freedom of speech before you tear my head off. lol
