nobody seems to understand that the state is not doing their job to moniter who is paying child support or how its being spent. im a father of 2 and i pay child support for both of my kids. my sons mom lives off of the state and gets everything she wants, she has no job of plains on getting one. i dont make enough money to feed myself, all my money goes to my kids. their mothers spend the money on themselfs before they buy anything for out kids. but always always always when my kids need something their mom calls and says OUR kids need this or OUr kids need that. when i want to spend time with Our kids their moms dont want me to. Its always MY child needs to stay home or My child dont need to be around your girlfriend. but its 100% firn for them to be around your boyfriend? my point is males are treated less than fair in this country. just because males are supposed to be the bread makesrs for the family thats not always true, i would love to sit at home and get checks from thst state every 2 weeks and every month. how many people wouldnt like that? but i work hard enough to still be broke. and i do buy things for my kids outside of the support, but to their moms its not good enough. cant see how anything isnt good enough for someone who doesint work. so wat im saying is the system really needs to be changed to make life for everyone fair. whatever parent is receving the support should have a full time job like the person paying the support. or people will eather be going to jail left and right over money, and killing people. so if all the people who pay support are in jail or dont have jobs, will end up in jail. where is the money gone to come from them??? dont make since to lock someone up for some years thats not paying child support, that puts them more behind and the other parent has a lesser chance of getting any kind of support. good luck to thous who struggle to pay i know its a good thing you do pay it no matter how much and to thoes who dont pay just get a low paying job and make the state take from that, and get a better job and dont tell the other parent. and for thoes who are thinking of other ways its not even an option.

I feel we as women should becareful who we sleep with if you see things before you engage in more with this man then he ain’t the one for you or the future of any children with him. Nobody is perfect but i think if alot of women think more with our heads than our hearts and sexual parts we may be better off. Don’t get me wrong sometimes it is hard to tell who is who or what they may do in the future but i feel if you seek someone that is stable in God and his money things could be different for us. This is sad but my sons father had this attitude and to be honest still does. That since we are not together he should not have to pay. To make matters worse he has been married twice since then. But if he catches wind that I am dating he stops paying. The only reason he is doing the right thing now is because his current wife keeps on him about paying. I think the world of his wife and when he goes for his weekend visits I know he is safe and well cared for because of her. It’s like she is my sons other parent and what really makes me appreciate her is that she is white and my son is black.

To comment on Mousey1685 and this case: first of all there is no way on God’s green earth I would ever harm my children because of what someone say I owe. I’ve been locked up for child support due to previous circ**stances due to my background. We as fathers have to find and use other LEGAL OPTIONS that are available to us! We can’t blame the system because it was because mothers had to lean of the system to make sure children have their needs met. So then the system lean on the fathers to repay the money. There would be no need for the child support law if ALL MEN of all races and background take responsibility for their own situations man up and find that opportunity no matter how much it pays to take care of your child/children and get a second job to take care of you until you can do better. I’m not say that there aren’t any women out there taking advantage of the system because they are out there. If we as father can make peace with the mothers (without trying to screw them every chance we get) come up with and agreed amount to them or buy what our children need when they need it then there is no need for the system to be involved in your life. I seen people do some crazy things under pressure but this made me sick to my stomach. I have a son around that age, I could’nt imagne doing something like that to him.

I knew a man who son got hit by a bus and was comatose, the father wanted custody so bad until he got it, when he found out that the child wasn’t going to get a dime he made the child suffer until he died. Bed sores big as a 8×10 picture child died from posioning due to bed sore, he had stop the nurses from coming over and when cps came in the child was dead for about 3 weeks. Its sad what money and having to pay money can do.

I had a real bad Day at work one day one of the worst days of my carreer and I went to go pick up my son from day care. He was so happy to see his Father (me) he ran around the room to tell all the children This (he shouted) is my Dad!He was so proud to call me Daddy.The joy in his voice brought me to tears and I cant imagine ever putting my hands on him to hurt him like that! It is sad that a young man like him self would believe that he had to erase a life to erase a debt. Many times panic comes with a lack of information. Did he have a job? Did he live with someone else? Many times the media will come up with extras to make the killer more of an example than an ass. Murder is wrong as wrong is the word. Im picking up my Bible tonight to find some verse to help me heal my pain emotionally. That is one of the saddest stories I have ever heard in my life. When I read this story, I nearly broke out in tears. How dare this man take the life of his child, who didn’t ask to be brought into this world in the first place. Instead of killing this baby, if he didnt want to have the responsbility he could have just moved on with his life just like all of the other dead beat ni99as out there. So now instead of serving a sentence for not his paying child support, he will be in jail for the rest of his life for killing his own child, how backwards is that? Sorry to sound harsh but there is no excuse for killing a child. Of course the man could of been stressed (by bills, life and baby mothers) but do we all go around killing things that make our life stressful I think not. This was a poor excuse to live a free life. As a lover of children (God’s gift to the world); I am applaud at the death, destruction our world reaps upon children of the world. This is the sickest form of “Man’s inhumanity to man”. I agree with whomever made the post before me. The system is not the only reason why Black men and women are divided. It is the man that makes the decisions not to handle himself as such and sometimes women enable this behavior.
If a child is made, he/she needs to be taken care of accordingly. This does not include welfare, section 8 etc.
When a man does not assist in taking care of the child he made, child support may be necessary.
What happened between the 60s and now, that it became acceptable for men to not be men? When did it become acceptable to father multiple children and not take care of them? When did it become acceptable for women to support able bodied men who refuse to work, take careb of home and be the head that GOD called them to be? Yet they want all these priveleges that real men deserve.
How do we repair this?

Thats really sad to hear that he came to that just because he didnt want to pay child support. Its real men out there paying more than that and they are making it. I would never kill my child but I will kill for her. I dont understand how someone can be so mean and have so much hate to actually do something like that. You know what… I feel sorry for and will pray for that whole family including the father who committed the murder. The 2yr old boy is in a safe place now. Whats interesting is the father was so caught up on the money he owed he couldnt get past it. Not in his own mind at least. I am a father and had a rough experience with child support in the past. Crazy things go thru your mind when you feel your being treated unfairly. This guys seemed to be one of those fathers, commonly reffered to as dead beat dads. In his case, he could have been a father who could not afford an attorney, ad subsequently was taken to the laundrymat by his ex AND the judge presiding over his case. The most disturbing part about this whole ordeal is we are lashing out at and screaming for vengeance against him. The moment he made it up in his mind to murder is own child, his mind entered into insanity. No matter what his demeanor was when he picked up his son, he was already insane. Whatever is done to him will not effect him whatsoever because of his mental state. We should be upset with, and lashing out at the child support system that has orchestrated these type of situations,as well as the separation of families, especially minority families for some time now. It’s easy to say “get a job”, or “he could have done something”, and I am by no means advocating what he did. His actions reverberate through our whole community nationwide, but as long as baby daddy is struggling, mama is getting her check or making him suffer, and baby dont know this difference, you will have instances like this. The child support’s silent message is “we dont care how you get the money just get it”. So a lot of the crime (i.e. drug dealing, armed robbery, etc)thats going on is probably attributed to desperate,struggling fathers trying to avoid jail due to non-payment of child support; by doing something that may get them locked up anyway. Who ultimately benefits by the child support system. I’ll tell you who. It’s the very people that are sitting at their desk in the child support office shaking their heads at this very event. The very people we should be blaming.

Child support system is designed to enforce what so many men try to avoid if this young black man was doing what he needed to do he wouldn’t have a back pay of 4000 and I don’t need to say they go by your income. There’s nothing wrong with killing a child over child support. These judges out there refuse to understand that when you revoke a father’s driver’s license, you basically making it way harder to find or even keep a damn job.

1) some fathers are truck drivers and therefore need their licenses to make a living

2) some dads work at places where public transportations do not reach

3) grave yard shift workers can’t always be relying on getting a friend to drop them off at work
