I hope he’s preaching the true word of God and looking out for those people’s souls. If not, “Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”- Romans 12:9. and I’m not gonna put my mouth on the man of God, just hope he’s doing right by his congregation.

I could quote scriptures like some of the others but I won’t.However,he should be compensated for the work he does. But on top of a $250k salary, he receives $11k+ for housing? Sounds excessive to me.Who are the elders and how can they justify the pay?Let’s check out all the highly paid ministers and then we’ll have a true consensus of who is really over-paid. I say show your true faith rev, and forfiet some of the pay and give it to the poor. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, that a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.(Matthew 19:24) p.s.(Sorry I couldn’t resist the scripture quote)

With so many people needing help with food and shelter this is completely asinine.church members continue to treat their pastors as though they are gods.

Congratulations to Dr.Braxton. I wish him all the best as he works to minister to the people. He is truly “Called” to do the work of the Lord. He has proven himself as a superb biblical scholar, theologian and teacher. He has the gift of preaching. He is well respected in the ministerial ranks. You will find that he will emerge as a outstanding voice in our nation for such a time as this. His compensation package is a matter to be agreed upon by this specific church ,Riverside, and this minister.

The compensation package is a very good one, but it is not much different that the compensation that many pastors of “mega-churches” earn. We don’t mind corporate executives earning enormous wages. We too would like to earn six-figures or more. If this church wants to pay this, then let them do so.

I am often amused (yes amused) at people who use a portion of a passage of scripture to justify a point. Someone here quoted Matthew 19:24 which says that it is hard for a rich man to get into heaven. But if you read the entire passage verses 25 and 26 you will see that Jesus said the most important thing …v.26 – And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I hope that one day you and I will all be “rich” monetarily but moreso with the true love of the Lord in our hearts so we may love one another and not longer be envious. Let’s all be laborers in His vineyard and see what blessings may come our way.

Another scam artist bilking poor and middle class people out of money…most churches are get rich schemes that do very little to help anyone other than allow most to justify their abhorrent behaviour the other 6 days of the week.

thats way too much……churches like that and people like that make me so mad.churches where im from when ofering tray goes around there lookin ike how much is goin in.I thought when i was younger church was one place to go for free but as i get older i see other wise …its like they sayin to people the more you give the better you are! GOD doesnt want your money just a tenth as i remeber is all he ask but some chuches take atvantage of that…makes me think is that what people become pastors for I MEAN I KNOW THERES A GOD BUT SOMETIMES I THINK SOME PASTORS ARE JST IN IT FOR THE MONEY AND 600K IS WAY TOO MUCH IN THIS KINDA OF ECONOMY!

I’m not mad at the Pastor for what makes . He dealing with the souls of others. That in it self can be taxing. For all those people who say that Pastor’s are in it for the money . Don’t you go to work for money? Next why don’t you go Be a Pastor since it all about the Money. Wake up Black People.The real Issue is that we are train not to like it when others Blacks Make it. First of all,to mr “read who the rich ones were in the bible”, you need to take a closer look. Those men and women in the bible were blessed because they ministered and put the will of the Lord first, not because they wouldn’t take the job without a big paycheck. I hear what you saying, but make sure you make it clear. Secondly, Ihave no problems with a pastor making that much money if he’s ministering the truth, his church is affluent, and his people aren’t suffering to make his pockets fat. He (and every other minister of the gospel)just needs to remember his true purpose for being a pastor, to shepherd the flock – not make money.

But out of reverence for God I did not act like that. $600,000 a year salary preaching (if he’s even doing that) to people that’s probably making at least 17,000 a year. @enphinity_v2 My Dear Brother .I completely understand your point and I really Feel where you coming from about the Pastor. The most dangerous thing to do is to Judge the Pastor,Cedric09,and myself with personal statments. If we agree or disagree with the Pastor that’s ok. The real thing to do is pray for the Pastor and his church that he serve. People get upset with money in the Church and outside when Money is their God or they do have any. No realize that God is all our source.

If the congregation is paying him they should have known this before they hired him. If I was paying him I’d be leaving the church, IMMEDIATELY. I wouldn’t step in that church again. And not because I “worhip money”, because the truth is I…well anyway…Paying HIM $300,000 is one thing, but also paying his damn maid, rent, ENTERTAINMENT, and childrens tuition is something else entirely. If he can’t do all that with $300,000 than he needs to find another job. Ummm no, I’d never step in that church again.

If top Ceo’s can make this kind of money, why not him or anyone else? Just because he a minister doesn’t mean he shouldn’t make all he can. If a life of lack is so great why is there so much crime and hardship in the world? If God has blessed his situation why can’t everyone be happy. And let’s face the truth, none of us would turn it down!
