But you have made my point better than I did: What does any of that matter today. It makes for great history books, but it does not educate anyone, it does not give anyone a job. I could not agree with you more with the points you make in the second paragraph. How much better off would our kids be if instead of handing out condoms in sex-ed class, we had high school parenting classes that include actually having to be responsible for one or more children for a short period of time?

For most Americans, the average life span is 78 years, and the most common cause of death is heart disease, then cancer. Did I read correctly that the leading cause of death for black men 15 to 24 is homicide. Why doesn’t News One focus on this in a pro-active, positive outcome approach to an important issue for blacks. (Because they have not yet figured out how to blame whites for black-on-black crime.) Instead, News One (and far too many of those who comment) seems to prefer to further the philosophy that “scratch a white man and you’ll find a racist.” Nearly every story that I have read on this site is an excuse to attack or highlight perceived racism of white against blacks. And many of those who comment use those stories to excuse and vent their own hatred and racism. That is why I started commenting on these stories.

As I have said before, News One has a readership here that offers them an opportunity to help the black community. Instead, they seem content on fueling hatred within it.

Instead of talking about what racist pictures are being put up by whoever it is, and I highly doubt the president even cares right now, we should be talking about more important things. FOR INSTANCE implementing mandatory parenting classes, working on ending violence among Blacks and Latino’s, the obvious lack of funding for urban city schools.

Whites did not invent slavery. Nor did they introduce it to Africa. Slavery existed in Africa thousands of years before whites ever arrived. And the silly notion that whites went into Africa and kidnapped blacks and sold them into slavery is also not true. (I saw that scene in “Roots.” It was horses**t. Twice, Portuguese sailors tried to do that, and both times they were captured and sold into slavery.) An intricate network of slave trading existed throughout Africa long before the whites got there. Those networks brought as many as 85 million blacks from Sub-Saharan Africa, mainly to the Muslin nations of the Mid-East, but also to Arab Plantations in East African, and as far as India and China -85 million to Islamic nations; 400 thousand to what became the United States.

Long before Christopher Columbus introduced Europeans to the New World, blacks had been enslaving other blacks and selling them all over their known world. It was because of this network that Europeans were able to go to West African ports and buy slaves. It is very unlikely that the Atlantic Slave Trade would have ever existed if African blacks were not ready, willing and able to enslave and sell their own.

Whites did not bring slavery to Africa, but they did put an end to it. Our Constitution ended the Atlantic Slave trade in 1808. Thanks to the work of William Wilberforce, England outlawed it in 1807, then banned slavery all together in 1832. Then the US and England put their navies along the African coast in order to enforce the end of the Atlantic slave trade. You can argue that they had ulterior motives, but England and France are the ones who put an end to slavery within Africa.

Furthermore, here in the United States, not all slaves were black -originally, white were brought here as slaves; Oliver Cromwell sent tens of thousands of Irish Catholic Royalist into slavery two generations before the first shipment of Africans was brought to North America. And -hold on to your seats- not all slave owners were white. At the time of the American Revolution, the largest slave owner in the Carolinas was a black man who owned over 300 slaves. Throughout the South, thousands of blacks owned slaves. Owning land and slaves was something many black aspired to in the Colonial US.

And just out of curiosity, you state that when ” melanated dark peoples” become the majority, the “white” will get what is coming to them. For someone to be mixed, that means they must have had a white parent and a black parent, or a white and black grandparent. The fact of the matter is, I don’t even believe that it is a legitimate story. First of all, I went online to the RNC website. I searched dozens of pages of photos on the site and noticed that everyone listed had the full name of the person who uploaded the photo. This photo of Barack Obama only lists “Gee Dub”, an obvious mocking of George Bush.

Secondly, look at the format of the Obama photo. It has “Added by Gee Dub to ‘ Republican National Committee” listed in the lower right hand corner of the photo. All of the photos on the RNC web site have the upload information along the upper left edge of the photo. For example: “Posted by: Thomas Kubica on October 29, 2009 at 9:27AM CST ”

This is obviously a setup to give racists, like many of those who have written comments below, an excuse to justify their own racism by pointing to that of others.

The Republican Party is not the enemy of black Americans. The worst enemy of black America are those who continue to misdirect the hatred and anger of blacks towards Republicans and whites, thereby dissapating the passions that could, and should otherwise be directed at the failings of black leadership to address the problems of crime, poverty, poor educational performance and lack of real opportunity in the African American community.

Even if that photo was real and posted on the RNC. That person, as Monte_Brown has perfectly stated, is a hater “with a thrid grade education” and does not warrant our passions. That person is beneath us. NewsOne is not providing anyone a service by concentrating on such negative stories.

Just as this country made history last November, it continues to make history. 1). Never before have the secret service had to dela with so many threate against a President that htey are dealing with today. 2). Over 9 million rounds of ammunition has been purchased from gunshops since President Obama has been in office. 3). We are seeing an excessive amount of contempt for the President by many white people.

Black people and others have to be vigilent against racism, becuase it has plagued our nation far too long. We can’t be guilty of racist acts or ocomments about whites. What kind of future do we want to leave to our children. Our ancestors debt with humiliation that we cannot not even phathom. It is because of their strength and endurance that we have risen to such heights as we are today.
