No offense but a Sexual contract isn’t on the mind of these people as they are tearing someone’s clothes off! There needs to be more Security rounds especially during parties, games & other social events. Its sad to think, guilty until proven innocent but this is a serious matter that demands serious action!!

As a man of Morehouse feel like all the things that I thought of Spelmen has gone out the window. I feel as if they are not giving us the right to stand up for our selfs it not our deal when guy that do even go to the school come and some of these women fall for this stupid s**t why should we blamed

To be honest, I am sick and tired of black women having to stand by “our” men and they stand back and do nothing when we our under attack for our defense. That’s preposterous. Don’t be silent ladies but at the same time do not let your emotions get the best of you

Okay, let’s face facts: all college campuses have problems with sexual assault. a women’s campus could be, and most likely is, more heavily targeted, but that is not to say that that it the attackers are other students. campuses are targetd for all kinds of crime from people outside of the college community. Not even to mention the typical flow of high quantities of alcohol.

However, as a victim of sexual assault of acquaintance rape, I must disagree with the woman in the video talking about drunk women still giving consent whether or not they are in their right mind. in such instances, a woman must take into her account her own actions in which she allowed herself to placed in that situation. if you allow yourself to relase all inhibitions, then you can blame no one else, because chances are the man wasn’t in his right mind either. most women have a lower level of tolerance for alcohol, so the important thing is to be smart by going out in groups or taking certain precautions that will provent such an experience. If you are not taking those precatuions, its really no different than driving drunk and killing someone…you still allowed yourself to be put in a compramsing position. not to mention it belittles the traumatic experience of such victims who are completely aware, concious, and sober during their attacks. I remember specific details, to this day…

as a woman, i feel it is important to nurture victims of all times of assault…but as a victim, i do not have pity for those who willingly allow themsevles to be wind up in this situation. No one would ask for this… but you’re not doing anything to stop it from happening to you, either.

women: please be smart about this….you DO NOT want this for you life. a few shots isn’t worth it.

i feel dat spelman shouldnt jus say dat morehouse raped me…when rape could hav come from ANY man…but need to understand that hey some women do lie and say they are raped becuz they dnt want to b called a w***e becuz the whole football team(an example) slept wit the female..so i dnt blame morehouse men for bein upset

    Well let’s see here
You definately can’t blame just the woman on this case. The man has just as much guilt and atrocity as the woman does. I hate to say it but these young men aren’t being taught how to handle the growers on the next generation. No disrepect ladies at all but men are just the planters that’s all. We sweat as if we were out in the sun planting watermelon seeds
but that’s how most young men think of any race. A woman can dress as slouchy or professional as she wants too but it only takes on moment for a man to come along and do something against her will.
Ladies I say if your going to go to a party protect yourself
brings friends mace extra tampons whatever it takes. Because reverse psychology is sometimes the best psychology. And remember ladies and gentleman this type of reactions happens everyday in every race not just ours. I actually liked how those woman banded together and marched together now let’s see you get together and band again and tell men no sex until you graduate. From College that is! Remember ladies you run the cities, counties, and most importantly the world.

More important, why are black folks worrying about this promoting stereotypes?

If people didn’t do the crimes there wouldn’t be anything to worry about.

Stereo types are stereo types for a reason. Because they are usually true, if you don’t belong to an all black or all white school here in america then you don’t have to be part of a specific stereotype. This country has all races that is one of the things wrong with this site.

I AM CURRENTLY ATTENDING IN HBCU AND WOMEN THAT I TALK TO ON THE DAILY BASICS HAD SUFFER SEXUAL TERRORISM BEFORE AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT…IF U CONTINUE TO IGNORE IT .IT WILL ONLY GET WORST..BUT THOSE WHO LIKE TO BLAME WOMEN FOR THE WAY THEY ACT AND DRESS IS WHY THEY BEING HARASS SHOULD NOT..BECAUSE NO ONE DESERVE THAT.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/hprince4/ hprince4

I received my degree from an HBCU. I am a male. I want to say that there is no reason why a man should take sex from a woman forcefully or under the influence knowing she wouldn’t consent otherwise. It make you less of a man. But women are beautiful, especially black women, however acting out on our testosterone does not justify anything. All this does is make a women feel horrible and vulnerable. A real man wouldn’t do that no matter what a woman looks like or what state of mind she is in.

This goes on everywhere! Not just HBCUs. On every college campus, black, white, mixed, everywhere every few seconds a woman is being assaulted or raped. Unfortunately it’s just a part of our country, not just our culture. White women face the same thing. Black men aren’t the only ones who rape, and statistically white men are more likely to rape a woman…how bout that?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/sweet_hospitality/ sweet_hospitality

I went to a non HBCU b/c of this very thing. Statistically the rate is higher because violence is higher there. But like I stated I went to a non HBCU and was assaulted and almost raped. My best friend went to another college and it happened to her as well, so it can happen anywhere. Your no safer at an HBCU or a prestigous university or Ivy League school. The risk is there and VERY REAL!! Just make sure you don’t put yourself in situations where your vunerable.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Pimptress12/ Pimptress12

I, too, graduated from a HBCU and have never experienced this or known of this. Im sure its happened, and it can happen everywhere.

I recall being “invited” to take part in an assault, back when I attended SLU. Recently, my roomie reminded me of another occasion that we were invited to take part on a “train”, but we opted not to be involved.

Despite not wanting to be involved, for some reason, I (we) didn’t see them as rapes at the time. Why? I don’t know.

oh lord everytime I come on BP its another negative article about blacks wtf!!! anybody can be raped by anyone and anywhere! This is not a race issue we as blacks have to defend our brand for no matter what!! My sister was raped on a white campus and they tried to cover it up! but we got a good lawyer then did the damn thing in regular and civil court! Defend our people at any cost!!

Sexual violence or terrorism in the black community has always been under the radar. It’s time both black men and women who respect their mothers and sisters to stand up against it.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/ThangThang/ ThangThang

I came from a HBCU, and I have heard about it, but this go on at big colleges also. I had a friend her roomie got sexual assaulted at University of Florida and it didnt make news or made it on campus what she told me

Well rape is something that has no color line, but if we as people meaning all race needs to know that rape is a serious issue. I’m saying that just because its morehouse does not mean that, they can do what they want to do to females. I’m a black male who has one older sister and one younger sister and a mother and grandmother. So I say to males out would you be ok if someone attack and rape your mother or grandmother or even sister. I think not and I do understand we these ladys are talking about. I say this NO MEANS NO man, think about it if shes drunk that wack on a man behalf to try and have sex with a woman that means you lame….lol lol naw foreal I believe that it happens all over hbcu campus but no one talks about it..Well thats my thought on this issue.God bless.

wow, this story was about 2 years ago my senior year at morehouse…. interesting enough the rape incident everyone was so upset about turns out that she was embarrassed about giving a bunch of guys head at a kappa party and decided to yell rape….. true story.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/ya_ladi/ ya_ladi

f**k the stereotypes just get the issue takin care off its stupid to try to be politically correct with a situation that is completely wrong.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/tashasexi24/ tashasexi24

if the chick gave the guys head or not wanting to ir not in a way she had to have said no…she felt violated and she frlt wat was right weather its tru or ot is a differnt story

This is an interesting discussion. in the mid nineties, two of my friends were charged with sexual assault at Morehouse and had to do some jail time…

They were two of the most positive good brothers I know. Eventually the girl recanted her story and they were let back in school but there reputations were smeared and had to be in the ATL peniule system which was no joke.

Sexual assault is a very serious issue and when women cry rape it hurts other women who claim it.

Still I think that all claims of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Neks1/ Neks1

no no she willingly did it. after rumors got out about what she did, she became extremely embarrassed and decided that claiming that they raped her was the best way to save her reputation. After that a group of women from spelman decided to do a protest on morehouse’s maybe a day or two after the incident, without knowing all of the facts and thats how all that stuff that you saw on the clips there got started. I was at the protest it was a mess.

BTW I think rape, sexual assault, etc. is completely wrong and i dont condone it any any way. But i think crying wolf so to speak is far worse. It makes it hard for the police to look at these cases seriously it can ruin a lot of lives… there are enough brothers in jail no need to put more in because she doesnt want anyone thinking poorly of her.

    sad

Sadly, Sexual violence takes place on most of our college campuses. Young folks drink, get high and many university administrations ignore it. It is pass time for all university administrators to deal with these problems… Morehouse and Spellman use to be above all of this foolishness. Time for both to get serious about these problems and it starts with a thing called SUSPENSION, EXPULSION AND CRIMINAL PROSECUTION IF NECESSARY… These are our schools of Higher Education?
