Something has to be done about the’s COP that brake the LAW and take the LAW way to far. And what this officer did was not only child abuse but also attemptmurder. There wasn’t any reson for the officer to abuse his athourity in any way at all. The police Officer should have the LAW BOOK Thrown at him and looked-up for the crime that he commited. If a MAN OR A WOMAN had commited this crime they would do 10 to 15 years or 15 to 25 years or more years thin that. So the LAW should not go easy on the officer and the LAW should not show any lieneincy to the Officer who had commited this crime.

I think all cops should be under two sets of laws like the military, matter of fact I think the local police organizations should be incorporated into the military and handled on a state level.

No matter if the boy was being disrespectful in words or not, it should not have resulted to that point if the cop was not attacked. The cop, like many, is just promoting violence as if it’s okay and act on it anytime you feel like it. i have to say, to be honest I could not be a police officer in these days. I am not taking up for the officer, but I did read a response on here where some kind of anger management or control programs should be mandatory for every cop, esp those in high crime areas. the political/criminal sector is quick to get involved when we as parents beat or discipline our kids and ready to put us under the jail for even smacking our kids hands in public… for us to now worry about child police beatings( and with speacial needs at that). So, they stopped us from discplining our kids so these man-thug-ragged cops can do it????

It’s great that the media chose to expose this cops wrong doings, but why was it necessary to share that the teenager was a special education student? The media can be hilarious with its strategic approaches used to make people feel a particular way.

The officer acted from his percieved view of wrong and right, from his point of refrence. His point is “He is not my son” “I run this hallway the way I see fit” “I can get awaya with it, he is a piece of s**t” Bottom line, if its his son, brother, there will be no beating and I wont be here commenting.People relate to you the way they percieve you, based on prejudice. Watching that footage makes me scared for these students, especially in particular my nephew who is two years younger than this young man and my nephew is also in a special education program at his school and makes me scared for him because to know that a grown a*s man or any adult period! whether of the law or not can attack a child like that!? J-siyah I can understand why you can dislike a cop for beating on that kid and those murders. Those were definitely wrong and all of those police officers should go to jail no questions asked. But not all police officers beat on people. Not all police officers are out to hurt people. And when people are doing wrong in your community for the safety of your community reporting these things is good. If the streets are safer isn’t that for the better. By your logic if someone kills a member of your family you shouldn’t say anything to the police. The sad commentary is that if the police officer was a minority, he would have been FIRED IMMEDIATELY NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! In North Carolina, the officer would have been suspended without pay, or on administrative leave until the case was over. Now, my question is this? Why would the officer not be charged with assault with the intent to kill or inflict serious injury, when if the officer was beaten, the suspect would be IMMEDIATELY PUT IN JAIL!!!! I don’t agree with any of the people posting comments stating that the officer was justified. If that was your child you wouldn’t feel that way. I don’t care if the young man said something disrespectful or not, he didn’t deserve to be taken down like a dog on the street. He is a child and the cop is supposed to be an adult! If he handles a child in this manner I feel sorry for any adult that crosses his path. I live in South Alabama and right now there’s a case in the news where a young man was run over by a police officer and killed. The child was 17 and on his way home when the officer thought he looked “suspicious” and attempted to stop him. When the child didn’t stop he used a taser gun on him. According to the officer, he then fell off his bike into the path of the cruiser. My God how many more children have to suffer at the hands of these dangerous cops!! If we continue to turn our heads or believe it won’t happen to us then we are allowing these cops to play God. The “Land of The Free” is starting to be a statement of lies. Police are being overworked and under paid and all their frustration is being directed at the citizens they are supposed to serve and protect!

What’s funny to me is the fact that the reporting on this story is so slanted (as the media is so great at being). In the video you see the officer and another adult addressing the boiy and him not responding in the manner he should. We don’t know what was said nor do we know what happened in the portion of the video they edited out (watch it again you’ll see the break). Let’s not get caught up in this trap where our emotions take over logical reasoning. While I agree that this kid’s nose shouldn’t have been broken and so on. It wasn’t because his shirt was untucked, it was because he was being uncooperative and disobedient. That’s the real root of the issue, but the reporters sharing this story choose to sensationalize it by making it about the untucked. shirt, which, by the way IS a safety issue contrary to the reporter’s idiocy as he stated in the video. How did this cop know that the reason this kid was refusing to tuck his shirt was because he had a gun in his waist? How was he to know that? All he knew was a teacher addressed the kid (watch the video) he addressed him and he refused and tried to walk away. Then the video comes back showing him coming in the other direction just before being pushed into the wall and grabbed. If this kid had a weapn, then no one would have anything to say, but this cop had no way to know that until he gtot him down. There was wrong on both sides of the law in this instance. Cops have a job to do, I don’t envy it at all…they’re criticized by the masses if they make the wrong judgement call and they have punk ass idiots who refuse to give them pertinent information to do their jobs on the other end. It’s just my opinion, but I ain’t wrong.

Life in America is jacked up, why, the law states you can’t hit your child a form of discipline if talking to them doesn’t work. If caught hitting them, they take away your parental rights and shove your child in a foster home where they can be raped and abused. So I guess as parents if our child acts up we should call the WHITE MAN to brake their nose, punch them in the face, body slam them in a wall and then put them in a choke hold that might kill them. “Just_Me” and the other people saying that the cop was trying to protect the school: You all are idiots. If the kid was in the cops face or something while he was “being disobedient”, that would be one thing…..but that is NOT the case. I wasn’t aware that in order to get a kid to tuck his shirt in and to make sure he didn’t have a weapon on him, that you had to push him really hard into lockers, hit him in the face, and put him on the ground to where he can barely breath.

Considering the fact that this is a SPECIAL NEEDS school, you all need to wake up and realize that there are no freaking criminals in that school. I only see one person showing criminal behavior, and he happens to have a blue uniform and a badge.

This goes to show that police brutality in not always motivated by race, but our outrage should still be the same. There is NO excuse for this kind of behavior. Again, I am convinced that some people just don’t care. Surely the officer knew that this was most likely being filmed by security cameras. Is this the “irresistible urge” (legal phrase commonly used in determining criminal responsibility for those who don’t know) or the IJDGAD (I Just Don’t Give A _______)? Either way, it’s disturbing.

For those you say, “oh, well he deserved it for what he did… OR he did something…”, then you are simply IGNORANT as the cop. I guess this would let us have a judge, jury, and excecutioner in a nice tidty one man package and save some money I guess. Let’s ignore that piece of paper called the Constitution, load our guns and take to the streets.

The commonly used motto of many police departments is “To serve and protect” (or vice versa). These words should serve two purposes, the first is to remind the public of duty to which the officers were sworn to do. The second, is the remind the officers of the limitations of their duties. I have failed to see ANY police departments with the following mottos: “Get Sum”; “Vigilante”; “Serving Justice”; or similar ones.

First Why was there a cop at a Special needs school? Was that really needed? Secoundly was it Racially motivated or handy caped discriminate motivated?
No one needs to be done like that cause there was no need for that type of physical assault.

Unfortunately this type of s**t is not new and continues no matter where you live. People in power abuse there power. I do wounder was there an issue between the cop and that kid for some time? Cause why would that cop through away his whole career and go to jail for what we saw in the video? Makes me think there is more there we do not know about.

I can say where I live the little f**king teens and young adults need there ass beat by the police and there parents need to be beat publicly for allowing there kids to do what they do.

So the only way to teach this kid a lesson was to resort to violence? No wonder our communities are filled with violent acts. Most of you here are saying that because the kid wasn’t doing as he was told, it was ok for the man to put his hands on him in the manner in wich he did. I guess there was no way that the phsically superior police officer could have grabbed a hold of the kid and restrained him without not only slamming him into the wall and on the ground but also punching him in the face. If I am not mistaken a punch is not a restraint it is an attack.

This is why most people do not have respect for the law, especially the police. You have MEN, in the sense of human beings, just like you and me, with their own personal beliefs, biases, prejudices, and issue, being made a master over other men with just a few years of training.

I’m sure that the officer was taught another way to handle this type of conflict and if he wasn’t, he should have been. Police officers are antagonist bullies. They attemt to get a rise out of you to justify barbaric behavior. There was no way that this kid should have been beat like this in school. Not unless he was being phsical or thretening the police officer.

WTF is wrong with these police officers taking unecessary force especially to a student who didn’t have his shirt tucked in. The yelling and screaming was unnecessary for one thing, two the pushing and the beating was too extreme for the nature of incident. All he had to do was tell the kid please tuck your shirt in or something else to that affect.. How can we trust the police if they are going to take these kinds of measure on somethings that are minor in nature. Glad he didn’t have a taser, maybe he did!

I believe that there should be a law made so that officers who use their positions to hurt and brutalize innocent people, be either put to death or sentenced life in prison! If their is no law against this, police will never stop hurting our people! This s**t is ridiculous, the white man just cant get over being on top! Us as African Americans have suffered enough! It’s selfish to keep kickn someone that’s already down!!!

I work at this school and let’s get this straight. Dewaun is know as an instigator. Not only does he constantly buck the system, he commonly tells teacher and hall montitors to quote, “f*ck off, motha’ f*cka”…. He’s not a ‘handicap’ teenager that doensn’t know how to function in society, rather a thug that pushes his boundaries and then some. If you watch the WHOLE video, not only was he asked to do as he was told (for the 20th time like most days), he was instigating the situation by telling the officer to “f*ck off”. This isn’t a black, white, brown, or red thing….it’s a thug teenager thing. And yes, I’m black in case you’re wonderin’…..

I am going to predict the outcome.
Officer may get suspension with pay. The kid will sue and win a couple million that our tax dollars will have to pay.(No one is marching in
Washington about those tax dollars.)
The department will never admit fault. The officer will retire a hero to all his friends, family and community. Us, we will have forgotten and be talking about the most recent case of police brutality. To many cases to keep up. Until officers are held accountable, it will continue to happen. When you have a situation like this where it’s caught on tape and its an open and shut case. The officers should be forced to deal with it himself. Legal fees, law suits etc.

nelsonpt22, I can appreciate the insight that you bring to this situation, however, Istill don’t condone or agree with the choice the officer made. The key to me is that HE’S STILL A CHILD!

We all agree that MANY teenagers are disrespectful and out of control, but there are other methods within ANY school to deal with discipline issues short of throwing a child to the ground. Suspension and explusion come to mind.

This situation (to me) is no different than a teacher having sex with a minor student and saying, “well, she came in my classroom and ‘suduced’ me”. Common in both situations is the fact that there is one adult and one child, and society does and should hold the adult to the higher standard.

Problem for me is that as a trained officer, you should know that disrespect of your authority comes with the job whether from a teen or a 40 y.o. man. It comes with the job title. You may encounter the high, the irrational, the insane, the violent, et al. It’s the use of appropriate choices that define you as a professional.

Unfortunately, bad days for officers lead to beatings, deaths, lawsuits, and usually the officer loses his job. Just not worth it for anyone.

100% agree with you that the officer absolutely abused his power and should be removed from his position (not to mention, legal action against him shouldn’t be out of the question for actions against an unarmed individual regardless of age/race/sex). Just identifying that this kid (and yes, I know him personally) is no saint as they’ve portrayed him in the video. He’s brash, rude, and thuggish, and wouldn’t think twice to talk sh*t to your wife right in front of your face just to see what you’d do about it….did a hell of a job though playin’ the innocent victim just out on a Sunday stroll for the cameras though…..

Unfortunately though, in the end he (the “vicim”) won. A grown man will probably lose his job and won’t be able to support his family. Just not a good economy for that to happen.

This kid more than likely has a big mouth. He probably walks around staring crap and talking a lot of crap too. He may have deserved to be popped in the face but not by the police officer but by his parents or guardian. No laws where broken by his shirt not being tucked in. If it was a school rule then the officer should have warned him them escorted the kid to the office. Even though this kid is or is not a menace to society he still has the basic rights of every human being by law. The officer was wrong. The kid will get paid and still more than likely end up in jail on dead.

This is crazy,the police job is suppose to protect and serve.And they are always killing someone, had this kid killed someone this would be justifiable. But people failed to realize that there are prejudice police on all police forces. they won’t admit that they are prejudice but they are.I think the police should have a policy where they ask all new hires if they are prejudice, which they would lie and say no. But sometimes they come to work with a attitude where as someone at home made them mad and they come to work and vent.And why in the hell would they give them a taser which is a perfect right to kill. I was told by a police officer that they only adminster like 4 to 5 volts to a person and that they have to tasered before they recieve a taser gun. the fact is that they only recieve 4 to 5 volts which is not enough to immobilize them ,but they transmit way more that 4 to 5 volts when they transmit to a suspect. I am very angry that every time you look up the police has killed someone. I feel as though they should be punished just like a civilian would be punished if we had killed someone and I promised that the killings would stop

I don’t know if this was a racial issue because the police who did it looks like he’s black himself. Second, I think in most cases cops are just over stepping their boundaries; not neccessary on race, but on power and that’s just plain unsat.

I cant believe that ( nelsonpt22) someone that work at the school can actually come out of their mouth and say that he is a thug and he uses verbal assaults on everyone. Likes he got what he deserved. If that was the case he should of been suspended for his actions not beaten. If this was my child I would sue everyone even the other individuals that was in the hall way allowing this assault to take place. The police officer:38-year-old Christopher Lloyd, is BLACK and according to Chicago Breaking News, The news agency reported that Lloyd is currently in jail after being charged with the rape of a woman he knew and is facing a 20-year sentence should he be convicted.

He also shot his wife’s ex-husband 24 times, in front of the children.

I think alot of cops actually go n2 that line of work because they absolutely love roughing people up like s&m! They get an adrenaline rush and sexual thrill from it…Keep it real!
