Wow, good for his sister for calling them out. No excuse for a 14 year old child to be whupped like that, not with two grown “law abiding” citizens in charge and who are supposed to represent the law. Sad

Ok. Now you know something is wrong with this picture. I don’t know the full story behind this but cops are getting killed and our kids are getting beat. Parents need to keep their kids in the house or in activities, there is a direct correlation. These cops are afraid and don’t know if they are going to be killed by some of these hostile children. Yet the use of force is too great to deter….I’m just speechless, this system is broken. This is happening to often….. very saddened by this video and what happened to this little boy!!

Why is it that whenever a citizen is brutally beaten by these pig ass rogue cops, they’re always blacks??? Whenever a pig ass cop looses his or her life in the line of duty, my heart feels no saddness for these murderers. They’re a bunch of cowards who hide behind a gun, a billy club and a badge. I saw this on the news tonight and I could not believe what I was watching. These cops need to be charged to the full maximum. He was “loitering” outside a house and was told to leave, then all Hell broke loose and they started beating on him. I believe in justice but these black cops need a good beating themselves!

I don’t understand why those two big ole dudes couldn’t subdue that lil boy without beating the hell out of him. I’m not saying he didn’t deserve to be arrested, they said he assaulted them, which is grounds for arrest. HOWEVER, he is still a 14 yr old child and wasn’t armed and dangerous. I can’t stand cops myself but I respect them. I know that people try to get away with murder by using the I got beat by the police excuse. Half the time everyone do not see the whole story. The reason why they have loitering laws is because some spots are dangerous. You have gang bangers, drug dealers, and drug users sitting around causing trouble and you don’t know what that 14 year old was doing. teenagers are stronger than you think. That little man should have been in a youth center or at home studying…that spot could have been a hotspot for crime and he either was at the wrong place at the wrong time or he WAS doing something. I find it hard to believe that he was just loitering…not causing trouble. Now speaking of police brutality….in some cases it is necessary to USE FORCE. If you were out there acting on a split second decision, everything you do would be questioned. It isn’t like all criminals just give up and say hey, go ahead and arrest me, I broke the law, I won’t resist, I won’t run. No…people try to fight, run, and try to kill the police to keep from going to jail. All aren’t like that but there are alot of cases where the accused made the situation worse. Now that being said, I still hate police, but I do respect them. You won’t catch me out there trying to catch criminals and I am thankful someone is out there at least trying to keep the streets safe..even if there are some crooked cops..if there were none and they just let the crooks do whatever when they tried to arrest them then there would be alot more dead cops and criminals wouldn’t be afraid to commit crime and kill a police officer.

It’s hard to say what’s right and what’s wrong with the way youth are in this society today. I know that where I’m from the youth are 100% out of control, and the reason for that being, we are no longer allowed to control them…They can do what they want, when they want, and how they want. The end result of this being that they have no respect whatsoever for adults or authority in general. This has not helped them in the long run, as you can see this occurs more and more often. Why? Because discipline and respect should start at home, but if parents are no longer allowed to do this, it carries out into the streets, where the authorities have to deal with these unruly, out of control children. If you really look into the backrounds of these victims, you will most likely see the cause and effects of parents who can not control these children and are probably afraid of them as well. Name one police academy that authorizes a choke hold as a necessary method of restraint…against a combative, yet completely unarmed child. Officer Daniels purposely choked Trevor until he literally lost consciousness… The moment that officer chose to react off emotion and deviate from standard procedure is the very moment that police officer became just as much of a threat to society as the so called criminal.

I remember when I was 17yrs old, my boys and I were riding along Broad St. in Newark NJ, and saw a hooker get out of a squad car, the cop saw us looking, hooked a U-turn and pulled us over. It was our 1st time ever being pulled over, so we didnt know any better, we kept asking “what did we do?” they(black & white cop) yanked us, of course the black cop was the illest. he and i got into it, and he hit me with a right hook. lol.. I am from Cincinnati. The Police were famous for shooting people when I was a kid in the 1970′s and 80′s and 90′s. Even before our riots.

Plus The “Sister” was looking right in the camera when she talked. She her concerned seemed faked. Which makes me believe her brother is prone to getting himself jammed up like this. So it was not new to her.

Now I am not fan of cops. I have had more issues with them than I can count.

Just because I do like cops does not mean every time they use force it is wrong.

It doesn’t matter what size you are. If anyone who apart of law enforcement ask you to stop! Then you STOP!!!! There’s no sense in trying to act tough. What happened was unfortunate but I’m sure he was doing something he wasn’t suppose to be doing. That’s what happens when you deal with struggling communities with not a strong family background to keep alot of these kids out of trouble and into something positive.

It looks like it is unclear who attacked who first. But it doesn’t sounds like the teen was commiting a violent act or damaging property, for him to be attack to the point where he was bleeding. IF he was commiting a felony offense, then I would say that this type of violence was nessecary for the police to do that,

BUT in this case it looks like the police overly used their force to subdue a teenager who was standing around probally trying to get his new rap cd off the ground. I always try to give the police a far advantage when I look at crimes because I am criminal investigator, but I have found many cases where the police have targeted teens who DO committ the most crimes, tendecy to over use their force.

If we are going to say that wrong has been done by thepolice and have video to prove that point. Then be willing to show everything in full. No edits to make your point the truth. I’m tired of seeing and hearing people pointing fingers when they are caught doing wrong. I am not big on police, they can be as corrupt as anyone else, but we must make sure we do what is right if we want to hopefully have the law on our side.

This is ashame! These police officers both weigh a good 500 lbs. together. This kid was being choked(shown in the video) is evidence of police brutality. Damn! Normally I am against a criminal, but if I saw a cop choking my brother like this dude would have taken an ass whopping! I´m against crime, but this cop says this kid, who probably weighs under a buck o five soaking wet hit him, PLEASE!

My message to parents is, raise your child to respect the law, so they´ll STOP beating on our children. Whether this kid committed a crime or not, these police men should be suspended without pay and put on leave for an unlimited amount of time.

Crime is out of control, 14 years old hanging on a corner, he wasnt playing hop-scotch or jacks. The cops already knew this young man. I have a 14 year old and it wont take the police to keep him off the streets, cause thats my job. Sure abuse is wrong, and people need to be held accountable, but thats what happens what the streets take care of your kids.

Look we need to quit making excuse… I saw the video when it first broke on CNN earlier today and they gave the full report. The young man had done some kind of crazy dance in fron of their cop cars. The cops drove around the area to find the same young man with 3 other young men sitting on someone property. Cop got out of the car, asked all four young men did either of them A) live at that residence and B) did they know the person that lived at the residence….. All of the young men stated NO!!!! So the cops asked them to leave the property….. the other three young men left the property as asked and this 14 year old decided to stay and provoke the cops yet again.. At this point i don’t feel sorry for hit at all… Why? Disrespect…. It also went to say the young man assaulted one of the officers by swinging one cuff at one of the officers… This isn’t police brutality at all.. This is what happened in our inner cities today period.. Its not a racial issue its a youth issue that needs to be addressed on many levels beginning with R E S P E C T!!!!!! another question that i ask if this young man is 14…. Why isnt he in no ones school at this time of the day??? Out hanging in the streets smoking????? It was very sick to see his sister complain to the cops about what allegedly happen opposed to having the same fight in her heart about being on that young man and him getting a education somewhere!!!!! Wake up!!!! People!!! This was not police brutality… and we all no it regardless of how small he is compared to the officers…. Attacks this issue at the root of the problem and it begins with— why this young man is in the streets this earlier in the day doing nothing,,,,lack of respect,,,, and why isnt he in school..

First and foremost I want to the the family of Trevor Casey know that they are in my prayers and thoughts. Regardless of what the police state that Trevor did is no excuse for the beating of this young man. If two grown men cannot secure someone properly then they need to be retrained. There are alot of law enforcement officers that abuse their power and it makes me sick. As a mother of two children I would not let these police officers walk away from this with no penalties or action taken.

Police that don’t protect the community are verbally attacked AND if they do protect the community they are verbally attacked. As stated before no one knows the WHOLE story but we have to take a stand in our communities. We need to protect our children by providing them with safe environments, rules, and discipline in addition to “policing” our communities. We must make government officials responsible to us, their constituents. All that can be said BUT it can also be done, however people in general talk a good talk and refuse to walk at all.

I am a criminal justice major and I believe that Criminals have rights and deserve justice. I am tired of the Damn police abusing their authority. There will never be unity between the community and the police because they are ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!! and deserved to be beaten just as they beat suspects!!! When is this madness going to end? That is why I don’t feel sorry when I hear that a cop has been killed in the line of duty because chances are, it is just Karma coming back to take their lives because they are not worthy of living!!!

I don’t think we should immediately assume that the police were at fault. A lot of these kids these days are quick to start a fight or look for trouble..hell I was one of them. But I don’t think a 14 year old boy could have caused such a commotion that two grown ass men couldn’t have handled it without having to beat him to that point. I don’t think that makes sense and I think the fact that their black police officers has no standing in this discussion. That’s basically implying that because they are black they should let other black people do whatever they want?

As far as I can tell it was not brutality. Howvever, without seeing the video in its in entirty it is hard to tell.
THe one thing I noticed is that we always pass judgement on the aftermath we never see what led up to the event. And what are police officers to do. If you tase someone its police brutlity, if the officers lay hands on them its brutality.
So what are they to do? “Please Citizen, cease and desist” yeah right. I think if everybody did a ride along with thier police dept in the roughtest area of the city for one night alot of the police bruatality crowd tone will change.

I EXPERIENCED THE SAME POLICE BRUTALLITY with my 2nd cousin, Michael Stallworth. He was shot to death multiple time by police officers.But do you know, if he didn’t draw attention and wouldn’t have been acting a fool, do you think the cops would have been out to get him? NO!

If you DO what you’re SUPPOSE to do vs. doing you don’t have NO business doing, then you won’t have to pay the consequences or suffer a beating or shooting for being HARD HEADED and back talking like you do your parents, trying to be hard and tough.

It’s called Reaping what you sowed all those many years you was acting up and never got in trouble for it. If you WANT respect, you have to GIVE respect. I have 10 family members and freiends who work for the law (police and attornies) All the inmates love my family and friends have no dislikes or negativity on them.

To the innocent victims, my love and prayers go out to you and you families. But to all you hard headed, back talking, disrectful, no good, ignorant, wanna be bad ass people, youre just asking for it. Maybe i saw the wrong video. The officers appear to be restraining him until they get the cuffs on. Casey had a bloody nose, but the one officer appeared to have his hand over Casey’s lower face. Casey didn’t appear to be struggling or have difficulty breathy, though the one officer was out of breath. There simply isn’t enough to discern what took place.

It always kills me when I see so much outrage over a video that wasnt filming the whole time! People always want to talk about the police but when the s**t hits the fan who are u calling! I don’t condone brutality in any way but sometimes force is needed to subdue an offender! And yes regardless of size it is smarter for more than one officer to restrain a person so that you don’t have to fight them or have to pepper spray/taser them. The actions of the Toledo Police Dept. does not surprise me. The same type of activities go on here in B-more. The child (he is a child) did not need handcuffs, he needed medical treatment regardless of his actions. After seeing that he was subdued and handcuffed they should have been giving him what medical treatment they good. The time is going to come when these types of incidents need to be protested against. As a community organizer i get harrassed on a regular basis as I try to do some good for my community. Will actions like this ever come to an end, I pray they will!!!!!

We don’t even know what EXACTLY happened to get to that point. Once the decision is made to arrest someone they have to go in handcuffs. What was the officer saying? “Put your hands behind your back.” Some people say it doesn’t take that much. Have you tried putting cuffs on someone who wasn’t going to give up? It is not easy! Size doesn’t matter. I’ve seen females smaller than him put up a fight with officers. You can go from the wall to the ground trying to put on cuffs.That’s probably how he started bleeding. Why didn’t he just do what he was told?

I have a brother who’s in the streets trying to be a hustler/drug pusher. I tell him all the time, whatever he gets he deserves. Grandma told us that you don’t have to be doing wrong to get hurt, just be in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong people and it can go down. Would I feel bad about him getting beat up by a police or another drug dealer. I ask myself this, how does that family feel who he’s selling drugs to? That young girl who decided to date him and now is in jail, how does that family feel? How many lives is his wrong decision effecting? So again, I can’t jump to conclusion because the only reason my brother is the way he is results from people making every excuse in the world for him instead of dealing with the real issues when they arose. The older kids tend to get dealt with and the baby cruises by untouched and turns out totally different. If police just randomly pick people and beat them up (which I know goes on), yeah they are wrong. If someone who’s really a criminal tries to fight them, it’s probably karma from all the wrong they have done previously. If they weren’t a criminal they wouldn’t be in the situation so in effect they brought it on themselves.

I have several friends who are police officers and I know what they go through on a daily basis. If they asked him to move all he had to do was move. I’m sure its not the first time people have been told about loitering in that area. And with the way kids are today he was probably mouthing off. So IF he was where he wasnt supposed to be and he wanted to be smart mouth about it he got what he deserved. People want to say hes a kid but kids are like when I was growing up, children knew their place when it came to dealing with adults. If we felt an adult was wrong we went to our parents and let our parents handle it instead of being disrespectful. Now a days kids dont have respect, they want to go toe to toe with adults, and I think if you want to act like youre grown you need to be treated like youre grown. This is really F**KED UP. A 14 yr old at that. i understand if the guy had a weapon and this was the police officers use of none deadly force to choke this teen out. As you can see by the video when the girl began to tape the officer had his hand apparently over the teens nose, kneck and possibly mouth. When the officer notice the girl taping he released the teen who then fell to the ground for suffocation. Please tell me if the officers response was “he was trying to control the bleeding” when and what makes them a licensed Dr. or Nurse? I would seek a large lawsuit and protest the Police Department, along with contact my Govenor, Mayor, and Senator. Especially if this happens on a regular. As you can see the sister knew the officer by name, so that means either these officers where known for this type behavior and should be made example of.
