first of all, tatchell’s time line is way off. he says there was a “ten year period” when malcolm was involved in working in the sex industry–malcolm in the autobiography says that when he was convicted of burglary and sent to prison,”I wasn’t quite 21, I hadn’t even started shaving yet.”

so we are to believe that malcolm was a sex worker at age 11– in fifth grade, living on a farm in the outskirts of country-azz lansing, michigan in 1936?

malcolm dropped out of school after ninth grade. he was about 14 or 15 years old. a white teacher he highly respected crushed malcolm’s aspirations when he told malcolm– who was a straight A student and the elected class president in a school full of white kids–that he needed to “be serious about being a n****r” and stop dreaming of being a lawyer. this was the portion of his autobiography titled “mascot”–because this was how the whites treated him then– like the team’s pet animal.

shortly after that, malcolm left lansing, michigan for boston to stay with his half-sister ella and as far as i know, he never lived in michigan again.

in boston he worked odd jobs ,shined shoes, waited tables etc and fell into the zoot suit hipster life. that’s the “homeboy” time period where he met his friend ‘shorty’ who among other ‘hustles’, was trying to make it as a jazz musician.

among malcolm’s many hustles, he worked as a procurer of customers for sex workers, but never mentions working as a ‘sex worker’ himself and said that he couldn’t–even if he had wanted to because of his light complexion– as the white customers always stated preferences for dark skinned blacks.

though he did say that at one time he lived in a rooming house full of hookers who were employed by a madam who specialized in servicing white male as well as white female clientele, malcolm says in the autobiography that the madam often teased him about his light reddish skin and told him that he could never fill in for any of her gigaloes because the white clients always stated they wanted dark flesh and malcolm was “too light”.

the story about the old white man and the “talc** powder” was a story told by malcom in the autobiography to alex haley. malcolm never said that he was involved in the story–he was relating some of the stories that he had heard from other black hustlers he knew, who would get together, get high, listen to jazz and talk about ways to get over on whites and trade jokes about how disgusting some white people were.

the story was that a wealthy old white man would regularly pay black men to sprinkle him with talc** powder, then lift him up like a baby and place him into bed.

the old white man would climax sexually simply from that. that was the whole point of the story –the absurdity of someone finding something like that in anyway sexually satisfying.

malcolm and the other black hustlers shook their heads and laughed at the ridiculousness of it because the old white man was regularly paying for sex, but no sex took place at all.

but peter tatchell twists the story to where it supposed to be malcolm sprinkling an old white man with talc** powder AND THEN SEXUALLY SATISFYING HIM– which is NOT the way the story was told at all. tatchell twists this story of absurdity in order to paint malcolm as a bi-sexual sex worker !!!

malcolm never said anything about being involved in this story–he was merely relating to alex haley some of the stories he heard from the circle of hustlers he hung around with in his youth.

but possibly the worst thing tatchell does is slander malcolm’s poor mother as “tyrannical” and speculate that her being “tyrannical” left him sexually ambivalent about women in general. this is again tatchell’s efforts to stretch and distort the image of malcolm x away from the truth in an attempt to then wrap his own gay self in malcolm’s activist mantle.

malcolm’s mother was a heroic figure trying her best , after the brutal murder of her husband by white klansmen to raise 6 children and hold her family together in the midst of the great depression where white unemployment rates were 25 percent. sometimes she cooked and fed her children dandilions because there was nothing else to eat. in the autobiography malcolm mentions times when he and his siblings “were so hungry, we were dizzy”.

this heroic black mother and widow of earl little –a marcus garvey organizer– was robbed of her husband’s vitally needed life insurance money when the company refused to pay off on the policy saying malcolm’s father committed “suicide” by bashing in the entire side of his own skull and then threw himself onto rail tracks so that he would be cut in half.

malcolm’s mother was hounded and driven to the point of mental collapse by white social workers and a hostile white world that would not even allow a black woman to clean their houses to earn money to feed her children–and peter tatchell has the nerve to call this heroic mother, “tyrannical” –he needs a black foot up his azz just for that disrespect to our women.

but later tatchell reveals another side of his revisionist agenda–just accept it folks–accept that malcolm was bi-sexual AND ACCEPT THAT THE NATION OF ISLAM KILLED HIM.

forget the FBI memo from the chicago office to headquarters bragging that FBI agents provoked and intensified the riff between malcolm and elijah that ended in the murder of malcolm.

forget about malcolm being banned from france by the french government because of rumors the cia would kill him there and france didn’t want the bad publicity from the murder on their soil.

forget about malcolm on one of his trips to africa being served a meal on an airline plane and then that night having to have his stomach pumped to save his life from a believed slow acting poison.

forget about the firebombing of malcolm’s home a week before his murder that the ny times and ny police REPEATEDLY reported as being caused by a molotov c**ktail simply thrown from a passing car– when malcolm personally told the police and newspapers several times that after getting his family to safety with neighbors, he quietly slipped back to the burning house with a pistol to ambush and kill the attackers –and from the backyard saw them running from room to room of the burning house looking to murder the sleeping family.

malcolm told police and newspapers that he attempted several times to fire at the attackers, but his pistol had malfunctioned and would not work.

he told them one of the attackers left an un-ignited molotov c**ktail in his daughters’ room on top of the dresser in plain view as a warning.

there was also a large burned spot in the backyard grass found beneath a bedroom window from another poorly thrown molotov that must have fallen back down toward the attacker–all this reported by malcolm to news reporters and the ny police –he delierately repeated the part about his PISTOL malfunctioning to ny police DETECTIVES–yet MALCOLM, A CONVICTED FELON, was not arrested for having a PISTOL in violation of ny’s sullivan law PROHIBITING convicted felons from having pistols ???

and despite all this,curiously,the ny times continued to report the story of the firebombs that destroyed malcolm’s house as being simply thrown from a passing car –because perhaps, that’s what the white public would perceive simple feuding negroes to do to kill someone– rather than sending in a hit team of assassins to do the job?

the white public might not believe the official story AND THE NEGROES MIGHT NOT FIGHT AND KILL EACH OTHER AS HOPED,if the official story does not look and sound like negroes are behind this murder attempt.

poor brother malcolm, in his last days couldn’t get arrested if he tried–and it seems he did–or rather, he astutely tried to discern if the ny police were cooperating with his assassins–when he admitted several times to ny police detectives that he, malcolm x, a widely known convicted felon had and attempted to use an ilegal pistol–no arrest –no warning–NO REACTION on their part AT ALL.

malcolm knew by then that the ny police were going to let his murder happen.

and LET IT HAPPEN they did.

on the last afternoon of malcolm’s life, at the start of the rally at the audobon ballroom, observers noticed THERE WAS NO VISIBLE POLICE PRESENCE WHEN USUALLY THEY WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE WHENEVER MALCOLM SPOKE.

after the shooting was over and malcolm was breathing his last–observers said the police showed up as casually as if they were strolling in the park.

this was after as many as five assassins and some of malcolm’s bodyguards had exchanged gunfire ,emptying their weapons in a large ballroom in harlem. both barrels of a sawed off shotgun had been emptied at close range into an already fallen malcolm’s chest and the enraged crowd had chased one assassin outside the building and were stomping him to death, when the police finally arrived–witness complained the police were in as casuala mood as if strolling in the park.

And NO, I don’t believe the story. It simply never occurred to me and I don’t find it in the least way interesting.

Although I do find the gay conspiracy thing too funny. And probably more true than the stories they come up with.
