John Gaeta received a letter of apology this week from the man who shot him point-blank in the neck at a Louisiana mall in 2002.
The shooter was Lee Boyd Malvo, the younger half of the so-called D.C. sniper team that terrorized the Southeast and the nation’s capital that year. Malvo is serving a life sentence. His mentor in crime, John Allen Muhammad, was executed in November.

Though Gaeta, 58, has heard since 2006 that Malvo admitted shooting a man in Hammond, Louisiana, it wasn’t until last month that he received confirmation from a pair of Hammond police officers.
Then came Malvo’s succinct letter, dated February 21, which arrived on Monday.
“Mr. Gaeta,” it read. “I am truly sorry for the pain I caused you and your loved ones. I was relieved to hear that you suffered no paralyzing injuries and that you are alive. Sincerely, Lee Boyd Malvo.”

I’m like alot of other black people and still shocked these were blackmen,blackmen don’t do stupid sh*t like this,they will rob a gas station and kill everyone in there except the person they are actually trying to shoot at(because they can’t shoot)but not just kill someone at a gas station for nothing,i mean what can he really say in a letter – I’m so sorry me and my man was morphed into monsters by the darkside,but i’m cool now,when i get out let’s go get some drinks & blaze up some trees and laugh at this whole incident smiles and hugs Lee Malvo aka hair trigger.

Is this dude kidding me? He is glad that the man he shot at point blank ran ge did not suffer any injuries. This young man is really slow, i see how he was convinced so easily to do the stupid s**t he did. First of all even though the man he shot was not paralyzed, this man still suffered injuries because he should not had to go through this anyway. People on their day to day life, shouldn’t have to worry if they are going to get shot by some nut. It’s like nowadays we cant go anywhere, our kids cant even go to school without the fear of somebody shooting them or at them. Young man (and i use the term man loosely) you injured this man physically, mentally, and emotionally. So dont try to clear your conscious by writing this letter. You will meet your Maker and I hope He will find it in His heart to forgive you just as you expect this victim to forgive you.

ncboi2004, You’re speaking of Eric harris and Dylan Klebold the two actual shooters. I am speaking of Morris Allistair and Kevin Scott, two of seven total white boys who gathered to plot and execute the act. My fault for not being more specific…

@CaliFemme the Columbine shooters are dead, they committed suicide they were never arrested or received help for anger issues in a mental facility.

Damn shame this kid is serving life for this..He really had some mental issues and he was brainwashed by the older person involved. He only wanted acceptance at all costs and the man used him for this. But I find it ‘funny’ that two of the Columbine (white boys) are now in a mental facility receiving ‘help’ for their ‘anger’ issues and this BLACK kid is in prison…
