My heart goes out to this mother, this family if anyone saw something they need to come forth. We need to start taking back our communities and the only way we are going to do that is by sticking together and getting involved. For whatever the cause was that this young man was shot it is another bright light out in our black community.

I have prayed for Chicago and I hope comfort is brought to all the victims of this endless stream of violence. Some of the Chicagoans most affected by such violence will likely not be reading this article online, so it is inc**bent on those Chicago residents who read these comments to do random acts of kindness in the hood. You don’t have to launch an organization to make a change. Become an army of one and make a difference to a young life. It’s going to be tough to change the life of grown up criminals, but the younger ones are still vulnerable little children, so you’d be surprised at what a little act of kindness will do in their lives. This is pointless, all of it. Why make known a tragic story when nothing will be done about it ever. What in the hell is going on in Chicago. Who are we to blame? Where are the drugs coming from? The weapons? Where are the parents? Please black men and women we are doing exactly what is required of us. We are killing one another. We are not worried at all for our children, especially the ones that are taking care of house and home, with what else drug money. It seems like TV. and video games are the only things parenting these children. There are no recreation centers. No way could these young kids find other means to occupy their time. Black people are doomed to hell. We really truly are. We talk about one another; young black kids rather fight to settle disputes. There’s no self respect. I was told yesterday that the reason black people act in the way that we do is because we are inherently emotional people. I can agree but to hear another black woman just put us down with no apology. She said that black individuals don’t know how to handle responsibility. She said we go to work only to stand around and gossip while our white counterparts who look at the world as objects are the only ones that will arrive to work on time, around the same time go to lunch and then right back to their desk. What is happening? I’m from Baltimore, so I know what it is like to live in a city that’s riddled with crime, but never have I ever witnessed anything like what’s happening in chicago. Ever; we will never learn. I agree with Toni_Anthony, let them all kill themselves. I truly feel devastated for these babies who are losing their lives to all this violence. The sister who said that Blacks are over emotional hit it head on. We are over emotional and over religious. This is the root of ALL of our problems. This is the mentality that the slave masters of our ancestors designed for us; RELIGIOUS AND EMOTIONALLY BASED DECISION MAKING.

Why? What is the strategy behind implanting this type of thinking into your soon to be “freed” slaves?

The purpose is WHITE SUPREMACY (not to be confused with prejudice or mainstream racism).

They knew that emotionally/religious based decision making, could and would never allow us to be a threat to their dominance of the earth.

Let’s think about this. What is the purpose of emotion? Emotions are obviously necessary or we’d be robots. But what is their purpose? Does the heart (the metaphorical source of emotions) have the ability to think? Of course not. Then how are we supposed to use them?

Emotions are given to us by God to move us into ACTION. Hence the root word MOTION. It derives from the same french word as motivation which is émouvoir, the e means ex and mouvoir means move; emotion means to move out. Emotions are the FUELS for human beings, not the navigational systems.

Why am I posting this, you may ask.

It is because I want to point out the flaw in our approach to life, family, community, business, economics, politics, religion, education and justice.

You see family, emotions were never created by God for the purpose of human navigation. The phrase “listen to your heart” is a fallacy. Our emotions are given to us to push the God fearing/God conscious person into INTELLECTUALLY guided action.

REASON/LOGIC is the asset that God gave to humanity for the purpose of decision making. Reason is mathematical/scientific thinking it comes from the french word raison; which means using problem solving techniques and tactics to achieve any and all goals.

Of course a logical thinker can be just as deadly/destructive or even more so than an emotionally based thinker, that’s the balancing power of religion and emotions. However, the fact remains that reason/logic is the appropriate tool for decision making.

The bottom line is, when you make decisions with your emotions, you are bound to make many little mistakes or several big ones.

It’s time that we all start pushing and seeking mathematical and scientific thinking patterns to compliment our religious and cultural powers.

This is truly a senseless tragedy..once upon a time blacks were getting lynched and feared by whites, now its blacks living in fear and getting killed by other blacks on a daily basis. I mean, why? Why no marches or protests when it comes to black on black crime?! What has the world come to. Keep it up, because pretty soon black man will soon become extinct.

Well, I hope this cowardly POS rots in hell, and they need to hurry up and catch the sc**. My condolences and sympathies to the family of this young man..

It’s going to take those with organizational skills to galvanize people together and capitalize on many individual skill-sets to start non-profit organizations that:

1.)Create after-school mentoring and growth and development for the very young who haven’t been indoctrinated in the urban mentality of drugs and gangs and violence yet.

2.) Individual or small group mentors for the teens to keep them out of or get them out of the gangs and give them positive things to do and moral role models.

3.) Parenting classes for the young parents so that they can/will assist in helping raise a better generation.

4.) vocational classes teaching trades to those without trades or degrees.

5.) Television and radio and internet messages on how to change, why change is necessary, what we all can do to help facilitate a change etc.

I realize there are many more aspects that need to be addressed and that there are fragmented organizations doing all or some of the things listed but they are at odds with one another because of divergent agendas, religious affiliations, ideology, etc…we need one or many non-partisan groups with the same agenda and a willingness to work hand in hand with one another. They must also be proactive. Not waiting on phone calls or people to come in and “apply” we have to actually go out and save ourselves.

That’s really f**king terrible. Getting shot is bad all by itself, but 22 times repeatedly?? Come on.. and we both know nothing’s going to happen. Fear is a great motivator. If someone gets shot that many times, do you really think someone’s going to snitch on whoever did it? Like the saying goes.. Snitches get stitches.. or a body bag in this case. I am really scared for my children and other children in this world…it seems that some of us have lost our minds and forgot what we were taught…love, respect and cherish was suppose to be instilled in all of us… we as people are suppose to preserve out children not harm them or kill them…they are suppose to grow and go on so we can go on…

I have worked with the kids in the streets, military and community and these kids follow who ever cares about them, PERIOD! Hey parent(s)…don’t wait until that court date or funeral arrangements to get involved!!! Stop blaming folks, cause you are the ones gettin the IRS checks, welfare checks, assistance for your kids, or whatever assistance and then forgettin that the child is a criminal when you see them everyday sleepin wit guns, drugs etc. Now that’s ASHAME!!
