First we have the abortion story that is always guaranteed to get a huge response. We have a gay marriage story that will get opponents going back forth all weekend, of course we have the “white people insulting Obama” story that will DEFINITELY get people riled up and just in case people get hip to that, can’t forget the misleading headline story to stir shyt up. Tyler Perry has a formula of shame, but it wins for him, and to do anything otherwise, you just don’t know what most blacks will respond to, largely, so you’re going to lose money. No one wants to put in to help Spike Lee develop anything, anymore, for fears of tarnishing their images, and they’re also scared to make it ‘a black thing’ for this reason too. A buddy of mind is a producer (who isn’t in CA), and said people seem to indicate this, because then you’re locked into a niche of only black stuff and no one will touch you.

Well now his statement was Garvey-esk–I wonder what black actor will come along and be his W.e..b. Dubois…House Negro is in full effect on this one. No one wants to come outside and create their own reality–much more comfortable to let (jews) define who you are in Hollywood for you. Exhibit A:—Look @ BET line up, and notice that they show Menace to Society/Colors/Baby Boy–etc..etc..over and over againn–But not once this year have they shown–Strictly Business–which is a ‘warm’ film w/stars–Halle Berry and Tommy Davidson and othe black people playing strong black characters, in which they take life/destiny by the horns and create something for self through legitimate business practices. Now I understand that it’s just acting and characters, but to far too many of our youth it’s(hollywood) real so they should see some characters doing business in film so they believe it can be done in real life. Makes you appreciate Tyler Perry’s efforts even more. I am not overly moved by every character that he has introduced to the big screen–but I refuse to be overly critical of his works when he is virtually the only guy out there who is truely independent in his field. Big-Ups to Mr. Mackie, for speaking open & honestly. Yes it may cost him a film or two–but sacrifice is part of progress.

No doubt. We don’t want to be the BOSS, we want to be the worker, who just gets a check so big, we don’t care as long as we can eat from day to day. That sh1t is shameful!

And just like rappers, or other entertainers, we can’t get together and make a huge GROUP and distribute/sell our own stuff. With the knowledge that blacks have, being in these industries, you would think that they could get something major going, but again, the points I made highlight the lack of progress.

There is 1 more factor, blacks don’t like looking at a BLACK BOSS. Blacks can’t respect another black person, who they think should be an equal, but who they must answer to. If it’s a white man, they’re perfectly happy! Someone has to be a boss, in this scenario of putting something BLACK together, and most likely it will be a black, in the ideal scenario, but blacks don’t know how to listen to other blacks, even if we have no idea wtf we’re doing, but that 1 excellent black leader does- we still disrespect his authority. I’ve seen that rip apart 3 businesses, personally, and I just shake my head, pick up the pieces with that black leader, and we try to push forward- unfortunately have to sub out black people for other races, who will stay loyal. Right On!! Black Actors continue to take N*ggerish roles, but they do very little to produce and portray positive Black images and characters of their Race. Madea, Big Mama, and the Stepin Fetchit roles are insults to Blackx as a People.

The only actor that I know thats making quality films is Denzel Washington. Also Black people need to stop supporting these BS coonery movies.

I have to agree with him, most of these black movies right now are kinda coonish unlike the black movies form the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s and the 90′s. The last black movie I ever took seriously was Precious. We need Spike Lee and John Singleton to step up their game again, those brothas directed decent black movies.
