I’ve been telling people forever that the only way to protect your neighborhood and save the black community is to stand up against the thugs who try to intimidate with their threats instead of standing silent out of fear of retribution. It’s a shame that so many people have to live among thieves who they know have committed heinous crimes but are afraid to speak up about. Imagine the woman whose son was shot or daughter was attacked by the very same thugs who stand on her corner and she has to walk by them every day coming home from work, knowing full well these are the guilty punks but no one else will come forward and speak up against them. That only happens in the ‘hood. Whites have no problem informing the police what happened. They may be snitches but they don’t let thugs and drug dealers run their communities. Not saying they don’t have their own problems but they’re more willing to risk their lives to have a safe community than we are. I can say that because I used to live in the suburbs and townships around lots of whites. They tend to stick together more as far as welfare of their community because they worry about property value and family safety. Those who hide behind the “Stop Snitching” slogan are cowards who are either committing the crimes or are too afraid to admit they fear for their lives if they talk about what they saw. And that’s why they live in neighborhoods that are more like prisons than communities.

People NEED to snitch, especially when folks are commiting ridiculously heinous crimes, such as raping a 90 yr old woman. What did that lady do to deserve to be violated in such a way? Even if they chose to rob her, why did they have to rape her, to add insult to injury?

That is someone’s family member; mother, grandmother and if these guys did it to her, what is to stop them from doing it your family member. All that no snitching is what cowards encourage. They are bold enough to commit a crime but not willing to stand up like a man an accept the punishment, ridicule and shame that often comes along with it.

To not say something, is to give up your power to the criminals and thereby enabling them to continue to wreak havoc and do whatever they please to whomever because folks to scared to speak up, or think they will be labeled or judged for doing the right thing. To not say anything makes you just as guilty of the crime as the one commiting it. To not say anything makes you an accessory.

If we as ppl bonded together; took a stand and spoke up, criminals would not have free reign over neighborhoods. They would probably think twice before commiting a crime because they know there would be consequences. To get something you never had, sometimes you have to do something you haven’t done. In this case tell what you know. There would be less criminals off the street when ppl begin to cooperate with the authorities and provide information they know.

Criminals as small in number as they might be, tells the rest of the people not to snitch and the rest of the people been stupid or scared of this little numbered gangs don’t actually point out the cuprits even if though they know them (snitching) when their respective family, friends or innocent neighbours are killed, raped or robbed. I think we all choose to do what we feel is right. Some people think any form of snitching is wrong. I have my biases as to what I will and wont do. Most snitches snitch because they got caught breaking the law. The police aren’t stupid they know what they are doing. They are not pressing charges against those caught because they use them to get to the bigger fish. It’s all sick and a shame. If you did the time, you should do the crime. you and others like you are part of the problem. I live in Atlanta and witnessed a murder [it was a walk up shooting at a bus stop, and a black on black crime].
Did I try to get all hero and stop it? No! As soon as I saw the muzzle flash I turned and ran like everybody else, and the shooter got away. But I and a bunch of people came back phoning 911. As police and ambulance came, and while crime scene tape was going up, you could hear the chatter amongst others who were at the stop at the time of the shooting as to what they saw [most were SUPPOSEDLY young, strong black men].
When the police were trying to get statements, the responses were mostly “…this is what I saw….. but I ain’t givin’ my name or anything else because I don’t want to get involved.”
Disgusting! I and a sister [who had a child with her and was now late for work] were the only ones who would give detailed descriptions of what we saw.
While at the station, we heard that the shooting was probably drug or gang related and the victim was a known dealer.
Now, I hate black folks who make the rest of us look bad! And the brother probably got what he deserved! But coming forward as a witness was the right thing to do. If you don’t then you deserve to experience the chaos and madness around you.

As a woman who’s family has experienced ‘ethnic cleansing’ through means of mass rape as well as the rape of our elderly family members I understand the shame, pain.

Snitching as to my understanding…Is when a person involved in a criminal act tells or gives information about others also involved in order to gain favor or reduced punishment for their own participation in that act….Providing pertenent information or helping to solve a crime by concerned people or individuals…is as others have stated being a responsible upstanding person.

Not long ago there was a question possed “Where is there intelligent discussion on Black Planet?” I would like to say right here and everywhere. With the Black Planet family numbering into the millions
and maybe even the tens of millions, in a time when everyone is encouraged to know that they have an opinion, and furthermore are encouraged to voice such an opinion. Each of us should know there
is the greatest amount of possibility that there would be opinions that agree, disagree, and even present abstract ideas. If indeed the elusive intelligence is possessed by any of us, doesn’t that mean
that we have to at least accept the fact that others are entitled to have different opinions? That is unless we reach a point in time when the brave are able to prove beyond doubt, that opinion is indeed TRUE.

So do note that snitching is indeed the act of an individual, or group of people that indeed may have culpability in some act, or scheme that is wrong, bad, or even evil, that they find that they were involved in. This is true if this was; with intent or unintentional, knowingly or unwittingly, wether it is plain and open or hidden and disguised as evil often is when it is finally discovered.

This case seems to be easy robbing and raping a 90 yr old woman is indeed a crime in the eyes of any decent civilized person, and anyone who chooses to protect the identity of such an individual, needs to examine if they themselves are really “Civilized.” This is very true wether a person is culpable or, if they just somehow or another become aware.

So in conclusion understand that non criminals do not squeal or snitch, they are just puting in thier two cents to maintain that condition that “We All Call a Civilized Society.” Or at least the closest thing to it. Peace.

Here in Florida, we had a case of a little girl who was killed when some thugs open fired on the house she was sleeping in trying to send a message to some dude they were beefing with. The community came together THAT TIME and talked to the cops and the dudes were found and caught, but things are back to normal since it died down. . .back to not snitchin’.
