When he became an EMT he took an OATH to DO NO HARM! He did HARM to the young lady and her baby. Im sure no one here is condoning what happened. But how could he and the young lady that saw that woman in need just pass her by after taking that OATH? That was as inhumane as anyone could get. I applaud the mom for being strong and making the statement she did. No good was gonna come out of what they did to that young lady and her unborn fetus. NO GOOD!

All my people grew up with this man.. Jason was not an EMT… He was aNYC Dispatcher who was only trained to do CPR only … Again this is still under investigation…. But the women complained of pain and hard time breathing you cant do cpr in that instance she was awake and breathing.. Also they cant preform different procedures because of liabilty “key word” alleged he and his co worker returned to work so if they let that women die or ignored her they would have been fired and criminal charges off back..Either way its a sad situation for all involved.

As a close friend to this young mans family I am truly disgusted by some of these comments. A Young man has lost his life and his family is devastated. No one knows the TRUE story behind that young womans death except for those who was involved. He was not TRAINED to help this woman and they did infact call 911 themselves. But of course because of the media and the HIGHER ups and the pressure they needed scapegoats. Jason was a beautiful human being with a good heart and loved his family fiercely. No one deserves to lose their life like this no matter what you think he may have done. May God forgive you all for these comments because him losing his life didn’t bring hers back.

This is how I feel about the situation.Whether you agree with me, or not. First of all He and his partner were EMT workers. I could see if they were off duty,and no one knew they were EMS Workers. That was not the case. They could of call the dispatchers themselves,and at least try to help the Young pregnant woman. My God what was so hard about at least assitng in trying to help her. No good was coming to either one of them. No way. This was just a very horrible ways of doing things. And YES, it was very,very, wrong for what he did. and all this talk about black people not sticking to gehter. The young pregnnt woman was black,as well as them. did that matter to them NO. and this is the first time I am commenting on any topic on BP.

Sorry about my spelling. I am so upset about this situation. I am not condoning the young man’s murder. Sometimes,just sit back and think about what happen 9 months ago with this young woman’s life,and her unborn baby’s life. You hit it on the nail right there. Jobs and careers today are not what they use to be because so many people just don’t give a dayum. Many of us dislike our what we do for a living and it affects our performance.
First of all, I hate it when BP run articles that will stir up negative reactions in our community. Why does this have to be considered Karma for this young man? Maybe he was just at the wrong place, wrong time. Yeah, he should have been more noble in assisting the pregnant young woman last year, but him being killed does not mean this was his punishment or did he deserve for it to be. SMH…I am so gladdd, none of you people are God! It’s not like he deliberately killed that woman with his bare hands or something. Yes he was in a position to help her, which could have avoided her death, but how many times we were in a situation to help someone and chose not to even in the simplest of things?

I remeber the story of him ignoring the dying pregnant woman during his coffee break …. His lack of concern for her life seemed so cold, so selfish, and so inconsiderate for him to be involved in the field of saving lifes ….. I often wondered how can a person be in this line of work and be so cold toward the the poor and the African American community ….. It seems like the attitudes he displayed that day is the general attitude in the medical field toward poor and elderly African Americans ….. Of course there are going to be those who say that the poor receive excellent medical attention and those are the very ones not afftected by medical mistreatment and could care less about how the poor is ignored in times of medical emergencies ……

Your correct there are way to many people who dont either like their jobs or do, but are up t their wits ends with it = lacking performance and interests to carry out all the duties within their job title. As for Karma i`m a firm believer in it, not saying this is what he or anybody else gets, buts its so ironic that he offered not to help save a life then he ended up losing his own.

No matter how you feel espcially when your in a care giver position you must protect the weak, assist the sick and attend to the dying, much of the time people “think” they want those type of gigs, but are only there to collect paychecks. If you are an healthcare provider you are to render care until help arrives or someone with more credentials shows up. Like if you are a nurse, but now there’s a doctor on the scene. As an EMT, he’s the one who will be called for assistance and his a$$, while alive, was right there and did nothing. I want to say it was karma and he got what he deserved, but I won’t. But I’d like to believe that if we could change one thing in the past, it alters the future. So maybe if he did help her,his future would have changed. I think life is made up of choices and your choices ultimately leads to your death, it maybe now or ten years from now.
