BHO has been a Centrist which in my view is impossible to actually pull off in this country. People seem to prefer a candidate to pick a side and stick to it rather than playing the middle or trying to balance on the fence. BHO would have been better to stick to his guns and lose on the Public option than capitulate for the sake of the “headline.” By doing so, he only disappointed his base, and lets be honest, didn’t gain any new allies from the other side of the aisle. Independents will probably look at that as weakness and either sit out or take their vote elsewhere..

Also, I’m sure you realize that a great deal of blacks who voted for Obama are not as committed to the political game as you are and probably won’t even be out this Nov. There entire plan was to vote a black man in for the sake of history. I firmly believe that you voted for him for the sake of ushering in a new system, but I think you are indeed a part of a small minority, if the supporters of BHO here on BP are any indication.

It has been stated clear and present that all Presidents have received their share of criticism at some point in their reign. The difference here is we live in a more hypersensitive and overexposed society. W/ multiple social networks and news outlets, no one can escape it. There just happens to be more right-wing mainstream outlets available that it feels like the light is brighter on this admin. Not mention like Tiger did for golf BHO has done for politic. He has brought the largely uninformed from the periphery to the front and that has increased the heat of the light just from the increased volume.

I have always been in question of this admin w/ its decision making process and have receive high criticism here for my takes. As for federal spending, the size of the annual federal deficit has been coming down since reaching a high of $413-Billion in 2004. The Administration forecasts a deficit this year of $205-Billion. The forecast from the Congressional Budget Office is lower still at $158-Billion.

But the size of the National Debt has soared. It now stands at $8.9-Trillion dollars – numerically in excess of the debt ceiling authorized by law. On the day Mr. Bush took office, it was $5.7-Trillion. That’s a 57% increase on Mr. Bush’s watch. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is already calling on Congress to hike the debt ceiling as soon as possible for the fifth time in six years.

The only other appointee I personally would accept is William Black who is the only person I have ever heard talk about the “prompt corrective Action Law” which should have put all those failing banks in receivership and not eligible for bailout money. As you stated Paulsen and Geithner should be in jail. Also, you say most Dems or Republicans didn’t believe Paulsen? I beg to differ. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have voted for it. Not sure where you got those numbers, but you are missing 3 zeros on the projected deficit for this year. It’s projected to be 1.5 TRILLION. Actually, that was before this new 500B, so I’m not sure if that will drive it up or is that money coming from cuts. Regardless, it will be near the 2nd highest in history. 2nd to last years deficit. See brother, what happens in every Presidency is they all pass along their bills. It’s like you living in a house running up the electric, water, phone and cable bills, then I move in and have to pay for it. This is how it always happens. Clinton passed on to Bush, Bush41 passed on to Clinton, and so on down the line. That’s how they all do. They just kick the can down the street. You are correct though, Bush increased the national debt tremendously. He cut taxes (revenue) at the same time increased spending. Don’t have to be a genius to know that’s not all that bright.

@Thedaythlordsaved. I asked you that question, trying to make a point about the amount of media coverage then vs. now and why the criticism appears Non stop now. Its a 24hour news cycle now compared to then when all you had was 3 major networks doing global news. You now have entire shows dedicated to politics on TV in prime time.

As far as politricks, you’re preaching to the choir. I don’t participate in any of it, because I’m already convinced it’s become a system to maintain status quo. Actually, myself and many others have been trying to get people on this site to see that as well, but they still put faith in this administration and future administrations to do the right thing.

It would shock people to learn that these bankers knew the economy would collapse the way it did. People want to believe this came out of nowhere but it’s not true. I believed that too until I saw people actually predicting it back in 2003. When you get down to the nuts and bolts of it, you can clearly see, that those involved knew it was going to happen and didn’t care. The ones who didn’t care are making record profits right now when they should be in jail. Think over that one.

I always say: “If you can do a better job, then do it”. It’s easy to criticize someone, unless your in their shoes, dealing with their daily issues and so forth. I think Barack O. stepped into a game that was screwed over waaaayyyy before he became President of the U.S.A. we have love 4 obama, but does he love us back? i dont have a SOLID answer, yet. i want to see what he does for those black farmers. i dont want to seem like a teabagger, but i want to see some proof that he gives a sh!t about us when white people are WATCHING. some issues HAVE to be more important than the next election cycle. but either way, hes got my vote in 2012 because there are NO other candidates that are as qualified.

Also, ONe is never too old for critical, analytical constructive thought and discussion. However I think it becomes a time when one is too old to suspend all those qualities and allow someone else to do it for them. I would put that age at about 6 or 7 years old. Some may say lower. Do you know how the Community Re-Investment act and the repealing of the Glass-Stegall Act factored into this mess? It’s 45 mins, but it’s really easy to understand, meaning there isn’t a whole lot of Wall Street Speak in it. It’s real basic and simple. I’m happy with both groups although, I can honestly say, I only respect one of them!

what has happened is what i always knew would happen…during the entire campaigning process people were happy and proud to be in a country that was i guess ‘willing’ to allow an African-America/Biracial man run for President and then there are always going to be those cynical people out there who think that people who voted and support President Obama are blind to the situations that they deal with everyday…not true. The problem is an unrealistic expectation that President Obama is more than who he is which is a man. There are a lot of Presidents who have been criticized and doubted but never to this extent but because President Obama is who is he definitely gets criticized more and no matter what anyone says the position he was put in with this economy he started his Presidency on a down slop. Digging this country out of a hole is definitely going to take a LONG TIME…and a year and half is not nearly long enough, of course times are hard for many but we need to give this President a fair go at this…i am not saying that everything he has done has been successful but what President hasn’t had its shares of successes and failures…i am going to be honest i don’t think everything that has been proposed by President Obama has panned out but i do think he is trying to come up with new ideas more than most of the gop who NEVER have an idea but like i said i am giving this president the same respect as i gave the previous one and treating him just as what he is a man…

Geithner, Summers, Rubin, Krugman, Roemer, Buffet and his entire economic advisory team knew. So that also means one of two things. Either they did indeed inform him and he lied anyway, or they kept that information from him and they made him lie about it. Again, with either situation, it’s still a net loss for the people.

Lastly, people have to realize this is NOT about fixing it overnight, this is about the fact that these policies are making it worse. Do you really think you can run 3-4 Trillion dollar deficits in 2 years with 2 more years to go and not have that come back at some point in the future and bite you in the azz? You’re simply ignoring pure logic if you do. And guess what? When BHO and family are making 20-50mil per year from speaking engagements, books, Board memberships etc. in 2012 and beyond, he won’t have to worry too much about all the inflation or deflation his administration would have subjected the rest of us to. This is so much deeper than fixing it over night and you people just refuse to want to see it.

@infinite_question..I don’t believe the term is subjective at all. I think what happens is the term gets interchanged incorrectly with bias. Yes everyone can be biased or even bigoted, but racism is the act of institutionalizing those biases and bigoted feelings to the peril of a group of people. That’s my personal definition anyway.

Ok, I have to come clean as well. There are some proposals I have agreed with BHO on as well. His work trying to get crack sentencing equitable with cocaine sentencing for one. There was an initiative to emphasize Science and Math in schools in order to get American children back on top in the world as well, that I would be a fool to not acknowledge. ONe caveat with that last one, if you’re not bringing black children along for the “ride” then that’s a deal breaker. However I think his admin has failed miserably with the issues that are of utmost importance. Jobs, the economy and war. I actually don’t blame him for the first two. The only thing that upsets me with his admin in that regard is he keeps stringing the masses along with this false hope and short change all in the name of political expediency. The war, we both agree on. Also don’t be shocked if you see some type of troop movement in and around Iran within the next 12 months. This will be the last “stimulus” program he puts into effect. Nothing like a war to take the people’s minds off the domestic problems, and to create jobs.

Lastly, I know for a fact I can find many laws GWB signed into effect that you would agree with, but I think when they are stacked up to what you disagreed with, they almost don’t even matter. I definitely feel and agree with you on that!!

The thing that I try to impress on most, especially Digg_it_Up is to do just that. DIGG IT UP. It was over 375,000 black people who fought in WW1 that was counted for and some was slaves and others was free who fought in the War. They came from the north and the south. This is not a research this is facts from my father who was part of it. What some people read on the net or have in their so called history books are part true.
