Secondly, like many black Americans, she admits that she didn’t vote for the man because of his political views but because she thought he would be a good role model for young black men. But with BHO’s playing the fence at best, and absolute cowardice at worse with respect to race issues, many blacks are now seeing that even that aspect of his Presidency is lacking, never mind how much of a failure his ADMINISTRATION has been is trying to get the country back on solid footing, thus far. To me, the heart of most of Obama’s criticism lies in misrepresentation of facts and unrealistic expectations. It seems like those who have NO CLUE about what the government actually does and how long/what it takes, are screaming the loudest. Yet, when Obama DOES accomplish something huge, they widdle it down to: “Yea, but he didn’t do ‘such-and-such’” (enter whatever your personal pet peeve is).

YES, I think Obama could/can do more, but even when he does, some of you will still pick out the bad from the good (as if ANY piece of legislation has EVER been “perfect”..EVER..in all of history), or just be too blind to see it, so what does it matter?

Add to that, Obama has accomplished more in this Presidency (~20 months in, no less) than the previous three/four terms (not combined) in an environment full of rampant fiscal irresponsibility, national unemployment, fixing Bush’s mess(es), huge natural disaster, and a “by-the-second-OMG-Obama-just-ate-a-French-Fry-Reagan-wouldn’t-have-done-that-news-cycle.”

They just had a Million Mortgage March (That’s my term not the official) in DC this past weekend. Desperate people showing up for one last effort to modify their mortgage. The HAMP program is a farce. AS it turns out, the Administration stipulated participation in this program for banks to qualify for bailout money. Here is the thing though, banks get cash credit for merely LOOKING at a mortgage modification request, not for actually modifying it..lol…This is why only about 14% of all eligible mortgages have actually been restructured. Even when you think they are “helping” you, they are still only helping themselves. Only a fool would expect otherwise though, Tim Geithner is fighting for them (banks), NOT YOU!!!!!

I am reading the novel The Runaway Jury by John Grisham. In this novel one man is controlling 10 other jurors with the exception of one, the foreman. @bvince. You are playing a little revisionist history my friend. There was simultaneous coverage of the Tea Party from all networks. Network news doesn’t work that way. There isn’t one story of importance that a particular network isn’t covering. None of them lets the other beat them to a story for very long. Obviously, the perspective/slant/angle all oppose each other, where FOX is concerned. But keep in mind, it was the LIBERAL media who focused on the RACISM and didn’t deal with core issues of this movement. Because of that, blacks were turned off from the start, because we are still a very emotional, knee-jerk people, and because of that, it is EASY to get us to not think and just react.

This is just a mess…as far as Im concerned, I can’t call them racist because I havent been to a meeting..lol!

What I can say is that there are alot of racial undertones in their movementl; just look at those signs. They say it all right there. “monkey see, monkey spend”. Low blows.

During the Civil Rights movement when MLK Jr. said there would be peace within the marches, that is what he meant. As a head figure of the movement, he told the ppl who supported his cause non-violence was the common denominator, no matter what ppl do to you and those ppl suffered and many lost their lives. The ppl of the Tea Party arent going through any torture or mistreatment, they simply have an issue with the current President and his administration. So where is the leader of the Tea Party and why is he not denouncing these messages of hate, toward our President as uncalled for? That doesn’t help to further there cause any more.

It’s funny that the issue, this woman has is he is “coddling Blacks” and for his nomination of Sotomayor? Maybe she was the best person, in his eyes, for the position. The Court is predominantly full of males, White males at that. Then she has issue with him giving his opinion about the arrest of a man on suspicion of burgularly, who was outside his own home. Is she serious? He is the President but he is entitled to his own feelings about any issue, same as every other US citizen, hence the signs they parading around at their Tea Parties. She must not be watching any news or tuned into any media outlets to know racial profiling happens all the time, and more than a few White officers have abused the power of their badge. I hope she doesnt have any young Black men in her family who happen to be in the wrong place, wrong time and come across the wrong officer. I wonder if there a badge there’s a badge he can flash stating, Im a Tea Party member, that will help him out in a situation like that. She hasn’t ever sat down and talked with Obama, so as she pointed out about those who have never been to a Tea Party gathering, maybe she should take some of her own advice and not talk about and condemn the man. Obama doesn’t come off as favoring one race more than the other, if anything he is torn or somewhere in the middle. He has family within both races. Somehow I feel, no matter what he does one race will feel slighted, or that he’s leaning toward the other. I never seen so many ppl; Black, White and all colors come together, as when President Obama was running and elected, but I guess ppl were expecting overnight results from the mess Bush made over 8 yrs.

It doesnt work that way, think about in your individual households when you get in debt, you have to go in the whole sometimes deeper than you want. borrowing and trying to rob Paul to pay Peter, as they say, before you can begin to dig yourself back out. That’s what’s happening with the country and at every turn he is being blocked or catching flack for something, all while crises and disasters are still taking place regularly. He is one man. With a country of backbiters who want instant gratification and to see him fail as the first Black President. That’s a tough pill to swallow, when I hear Black ppl talk like this. Divide and Conquer. That’s how Blacks have managed to remain in subjection for so long. She’s entitled to her opinion, but her reasoning behind her decision is a bit absurd.

When I saw a few of the tea party-ers spitting on several reps in Congress on TV and spewing racial undertones, that sealed the deal with me that they were racist. Even if some of the members state they are not (they surely believe in White privilege) – Why align yourself with such a group that reaps so much hate? Where were they during Bush’s Administration? Heck, I would have joined! But they use the very small amount of African American as pawns which is not anything new nor surprising. That lady with the sign that state she’s Mixed, is right.. Mixed up in the Head!

I will put it this way. I, personally, have never been to a Tea Party meet-
ing, so I don’t know who is racist or who is not. The point is this all
throughout American history white folk have always used certain black folk as pawns in miscellaneous events throughout history. As far as political
parties goes, I have always been a Democrat, but I am leaning more in favor
of becoming an independent in future elections. People like Karen Cooper and Pastor Manning who are black are entitled to their own opinion of Obama
just like anyone else. There will always be a need for groups like the
NAACP, the Urban League, and other black related organization due to the
systematic and historical racism against black folks as well as other
groups that are considered as “minorities.” During the early days, a good
majority of black folk were republicans. Perhaps, a new day is forthcoming
in terms of black embracing the Republican Party and their ideology. There
are certain things Obama have done that I am not totally in favor of, but I
am not going to bash his head. Apparently becoming the first black president of the United States of America is not a big deal with some black
folk if he or she’s performance is not in step with the tune of its citizens. I understand the difference between the Democratic and Republican
Party very clearly. The Democrats have always been in favor of having
governmental control over the lives of its citizens while the Republicans
have always been in favor of self sufficiency for its citizens. In other
words, Republicans claim to allow its citizens to breathe a little bit bet-
ter by allowing them to take control of their own destiny with limited funds
from a government. Is this not the philosophy behind tbese two parties.
If the NAACP had not put in their two cents after this one white Tea Party
racist was discovered, it might have taken a little bit longer to dig this
first one out of the bunch. Racism have always been embedded in the United
States of America. This is not fiction. It is a fact as we all know. From
the earlier days of the white doctors using members of the Tuskegee air force as “guinea pigs,” for their own selfish ideology towards black folk,
we all know that racism exists. To tell you the truth, I am not impressed
with the current head of the Republican Party named Micheal Steele either.
Remember now, Micheal Steele is a black man at one time I did admire, but
not anymore. Yes. There is a need for more black Republicans in this party. However, using certain black folk as “pawns,” and “Uncle Toms,” is
never going to solve the real Negro problem that exists in America. To tell
you the truth, it aint going to solve the white man’s problem either.
Well, look back through the history of the United States. I will always
admire Barack Obama become this one man took a stand to want to become
president of the United States. Do I agree with everything he has done.
No. I do not. Do I agree with everything former president George Bush
done in his administration. No. I do not. Even if I decided to vote for
the McCain/Palin ticket at the time, would things have been any better
than they are now with this current administration. Obama took heat for
the passing of his health care bill. Yes. It is going to cost a little
bit more for taxpayers. Then again, what about people who have never had
health insurance even with a job.

I will be voting inthe mid-term election. The republicains ran this country into the ground and they can not be allowed back in power. Obama has made mistakes – he is a first term president. His biggest mistake was trying to work with a party who clearly want him to fail. The republicains are not interested in working with the president, they block him at every turn. Stop cudding them Mr. President and go around them or through them but get the job done.

These people are just stupid. Also most everything that former President Bush did was unethical or illegal. Now someone is in the Whitehouse with ethics and morals, a bunch of c**kroaches are coming out of the wood work. This is so sad to see that some Black folks are still willing to be the “token” in trashing of our nation’s first Black president. President Obama is capable of doing this job and I pray his strengh endures. The tea party is racist, now to see some Blacks folks are so blind that they would stand up in public and show support for this mess sickening. Apparently they have disconnected from the Negro Experience and Journey in America. If the south would have won the war, do they think slaver would have ended? A couple of weeks ago, I spoke with a well positioned African American state employee in South Carolina who told me that “racism in hiring does not happen with his agency because we have measure in place for that”. Yet, I personally know of 2 African American workers who were overlooked for unquailifed white workers. It’s sad that some African Americans can not see the forrest from the trees. We don’t have to be racist in return but you should be willing to stand up for fairness and equality. This nation is not giving President Obama a fair chance, some are waiting for him to fail. I wish President Obama would stop extending the right hand of fellowship to these narrow minded bigots and do what needs to be done. They are so afraid of equality for all and having to give back what some of them have stolen in many cases that they are terrorized within. Here in South Carolina a Black man lost his life to a white man shooting him in the back of his head, then dragging the body 11 miles tided behind a pickup truck. No one in law enforcement is willing to call this a hate crime. Some use the excuse that the victim and perpetrator were friends. Well don’t know of any friends dragging another behind a pickup truck. President Obama deserves respect just as any other President of the U.S. The crazy thing is that these tea party people are not even protesting the war or spending of the war. They are just protesting any tax increase that might lead to fairness and equality for those who have been denied. President Obama has not increased any taxes other then the proposed taxes for the wealthy, so what’s the problem?

It is sad, indeed, that people will get on a soap box, make thunderous pronouncements on as serious an issue as turning this country back from the abbyss where it had sank over the last eight years, yet don’t even bother to check their facts beforehand. Are there no libraries or other venues of simple reseach available to _A_, in the Bahamas? Where does he get the notion that the democrats controlled both houses of the Congress during president Bush’s two terms?
The “easiest” thing to do would be to ignore people of his ilk, however that is also the most ineffectual thing to do. The best antidote to ignorance is irrefutable factsl; in other words, education in the best medecine against misinformation.
If you survey the economic lanscape, it is mind boggling to note the dirth on destruction that has been heaved on this country in just eight years. Does no one remember the days of $ 1.50/gal price of gasoline, if nothing else?
