California Gubernatorial Candidate Margaret Whitman Snubs Black Media [VIDEO]

Margaret Whitman, a Republican candidate running for governor of California, is making a habit of being a “no-show” at forums her camp has created for Blacks and Latinos.

The forum, which was scheduled to be held in the San Francisco Christian Center, was created for Blacks and Latino organizations to ask questions about issues affecting their communities. This forum was significant because the two remaining debates will not be held in urban communities.

To date, Whitman’s campaign has spent over 50 million dollars on TV, radio, and print, but has yet to spend a cent on African American media outlets. Not only has her camp not chosen to use African-American outlets, but they have refused invitations.

She possibly is assured that having Condoleezza Rice’s endorsement will be enough to assure the black community of California.

Hopefully, they have not fallen for this gimmick.

Her lack of concern for black people is reflected in her actions, as well as her statements. In 2009, she mentioned that she is a “big fan” of Van Jones and what he is doing in Oakland, and in the same breath called him “articulate”– a clear indication of her belief of the notion of black intellectual inferiority.

    Unfortunately, California’s black population isn’t going to make that big of difference in the up coming election. Especially if black folk don’t vote. Hopefully they will.

    I dunno about Hispanics, but Blacks vote Democratic about 85-90% of the time. Tell me Samuel, would you spend money on a demographic when only 1 out 10 of that group will vote for you? No, I wouldnt either.

    I dont really care for Meg but she did an outstanding job of running Ebay for years. Cali has a huge budget problem; they could use someone of her skills mananging it.

    @jayevans20: The reason that the black vote is so weak in most states that have black people in them, is because of the high rate of disenfranchisement of black people. Black people as a whole DO NOT commit more crimes than whites, we are just convicted at a higher rate and are subject to harsher sentences than any other ethnic group in this country. The disenfranchisement laws were put in place to keep down the black vote. 1 in 4 black men and 1 in 6 black women in any state in AmeriKKKa are unable to vote for this reason. Please my people,stay out of the criminal justice system if at all possible.

    This is nothing new to us why should we be shocked you guys have to understand something right now the Republican Party is on the move to regain thier status quo. Our President is on a mission to explot them for who they really are and what they have done to corrupt this country.

    This Government has lied and deceived us for so long and have gotten away with it. And our President knows what is going on remember he is from Chicago so who better to bet them at thier own game than him and that is ecxactly what it is a game and now thier hand has been exposed and they don’t like it.

    All I can say is the American People need to open thier eyes and see the BIGGER PICTURE as to what is goin on that is why we need our black leaders to rise to the occassion and step up more so now than ever to support our president and start educating our black community and prepareing them for what is to come and if this means voting in stronger leadership then let’s do so because we have to stand strong right now and push back.

    And as for those black republicans hey trust me they are paying the price right now to maintain thier positions because at the end of the day they will still be black.

I wonder if the author of this article felt that the world “articulate” was a clear indication of Joe Biden’s belief of the notion of black intellectual inferiority when he used the word to describe Barack Obama? Or about Obama calling all African-Americans ‘Mongrels’ on the View yesterday?

    Good or bad – at least Whitman is consistent…which is a lot more than the black media can say for its own reporting standards.
