Not that I condone them cuffing a kid to a chair..BUT, I would bet anything that lil boy is a MONSTER in behavior…

Never heard of handcuffs in elementary school

This is ashame and for them to handcuff or do anything else to a child is crazy and should be looked at as child abuse. If the parents can’t treat their children like this at home without facing charges…neither should the school. Why didn’t the school call his parents if it was such a big problem…to the point where the teacher felt she had to put handcuffs on him?(JMO)

wow this is a new thing… I am sure this kid is no angel, but HANDCUFFS? How about a call to the parents if you are unable to control the child’s behavior w/ conventional methods.

Back in the day, the stopped with the paddle(I was going to brain a bullying MF for picking on me and I had enough), but I think the handcuffs (and someBAshing of this boy here) is going to make that boy FEEL like a criminal long after he’s been punished, if you know what I mean…

this is what happen when you take paddling out of school i remember get my ass tore up in the princple office as a kid and sometimes by my teacher for pulling pranks and spit balls. now these teacher dont have nothing to put fear in these kids. hell one apple shouldnt stop the rest from learning hell half of these kids aint learning how to be half decent at home no way so what is the teachers to do they can’t be the kid parents and try to teach.

THESE TEACHERS ARE GOING TO THE EXTREME, CUTTING HAIR OFF, PUNCHING THEM, AND NOW HANDCUFFING THEM TO CHAIRS…LOL…THIS IS SOME CRAZY MESS…WHATS NEXT…

How about a call to the parents if you are unable to control the child’s behavior OR SENDING HIM TO THE PRINCIPLE OFFICE…or send him home period there are other Conventional Methods.

He would have to be a real bad ass kid to get handcuffed twice within a 72 hour period. Personally, some kids do just need to be disciplined, but back in the days when the teacher used to care about you, they would either be the one to beat you or tell your parents and they’d be the ones to beat your behind. These days there are many parents afraid of what DCFS, the police and/or the kids themselves might do so with their hands tied, some just don’t have a choice.

Ok, I’m with theresnonelikeme. If my kid gives you any problem I need to be called. You handcuff my kid, I’m coming to handcuff yo ass.

S**t, i would’ve loved to get handcuffed when i was going to school. I got BARE-ASSED WHUPPINS IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE CLASS!

In situations like this mom/dad need to make a quest appearance and stand and look thru the classroom window/door, and obvious and handle that behavior accordingly. I dont condone that behavior by the principle either, but the parents need to assist her to let that child know who’s the adult and who’s the child.

I remember a kid from one of my classes who got tied to a chair by a belt for taking gum off of someones’ birthday cake lol. It is getting harder these days for teachers because you pretty much can’t do anything anymore. I think parents need to be more involved in their childs classroom. I spent 15 mins in my daughters 1st grade class a few months back and i wanted to tie atleast 5 kids to their chairs, the classroom was out of control, kids sitting on their desk, 2 kids were fighting. One boy punched another girl. One girl demanded the teacher tied her shoe and she didn’t ask her she told her. That teacher was dragging her butt around, and kindly talking to the kids and trying to call parents to talk to their child. My daughter suffered a year of learning because of the kids behavior. I mean i don’t think a few of the parents EVER been the classroom to see how their child was. I will say one parent she stayed in the classroom with her alot and let me tell you when she spoke the kids listened. She had my attention. lol….I know for me my children’s teacher knows if my kids act up call me cause i will cuzz them out on the damn phone and if they don’t speak to me, they will see me up there. Being a teacher these days isn’t fun or easy when having to deal with unruly children. It starts at home first!

that is sad why would a teacher do that aand the pronciple agree to all that happening they should close the school down and lock the teacher and the principle up what happened to time outs and things like that what is this world coming to if that was my child I would have sued the school the principle and the teacher and locked their asses up for that

This is ridiculous ! Now since the parents don’t discipline this boy @ home they are going to get mad cause someone else did?? They smell LAWSUIT that’s all !! True, there are other ways to handle these kids .. But I agree IT STARTS AT HOME FIRST & FOREMOST!!! Staying involved in your child’s schooling is the key. If you can’t talk with your child’s teacher on a regular basis.. keep an email relationship going at least so you are in tune with the teacher on your child’s behavior !! Mine is only in pre-k and you BEST believe I started off strong.. I may have been the only parent sitting in on the classes and out of the 20 some kids in there.. MINE was one out of about 5 that actually listened and sat in her seat and obeyed the teacher.. NO BULLSH*T !! I don’t play that mess !!!

I do not condone what the teacher did, but sometimes these bad a$$ kids need more than a hand cuff. Parents do not teach their children respect & discipline any more. It’s a shame..

People lets not forgt the child in question is 6yrs old unless he is related to Damien from Omen no excuse to put a child in handcuffs, I cannot begin to truma that child has gone through…. I agree there is a discipline issue but this approach is extreme and if that was my child lord knows it will be very hard to not to want to exact some serious parental justice…..
