He should held in the same esteem that we hold Mr. Obama. whether we agree with his politics or not. On the contrary. I feel we need to hold ourselves to an even higer standard. No we don’t have to agree but we have to expose the bs whenever and whoever is the source of it. We need to recognize achievements as much as know when we are being placated. If Mr.Steele were conducting himself with character and value I would be the first to acknowledge it. As it is he’s just a token on a grand stage. He was not elected to the position of RNC chairman in an major election he was selected as a strategy. A failed strategy at that.

seriously… The way we look at people in the public eye its as if we grew up with them when the reality is we dont know them at all. regaurdless of how we think of Mr. Steele He achieve a very high post. he is the 1st black man to head the RNC EVER! and even if he is their lap dog,he still deserves our respect because he did work hard to be in a position where he could be considered for that post.
and as far as the Limbaugh comments and Steele backing down from what he said… i will agree it was spineless but is job was on the line. put your self in his shoes

Micheal Steele is a figure head, a smoke screen. I applaud him for making it high in politics, thats a true statement, he’s done well in that aspect. But, Steele is not changing the GOP, he is catering to them. If he were a true leader, he would have much more ability and power. That he had to apologize to Rush Limbaugh of all people shows just how little pull he has within the party. He is not doing anything to revamp the Republican party, because he can’t. He’s only dancing and jiving for the camera’s, thats why he is not celebrated the same as Obama. Obama has the power to make actual change within his party, and he can publicly do as he likes without being chastised by the whole party, which Steele has had done to him. His appointment was nothing more than a marketing tool, the same as these Republicans using twitter during conferences. They’re trying to superficially pretend that they’re changing and coming into the 21st century, when their core values and beliefs are still the same: Elitist. Intolerance, Hatred, and Covert racism/sexism. I’ll agree he is to be admired for his struggle to gain his professional post [before he became RNC chairman.] but there’s nothing else truly remarkable about him, in regards to his appointment.

I can truly see the one-sided view of this article by Nazneen Patel. As a blcak republican, I get sick and tired of listening and reading crap from liberals like Patel always trying to down a black conservative because they are a member of the republican party. Give the man his props for being the 1st black to run the GOP and yes, it was a tight election for him. Instead of worrying about Steele, we need to focus on Obama and Congress for given out bonus to people who don’t deserve them. REPORT THAT PATEL!

Maybe it’s just me but why does all these article bash the republican part and why is it so hard to get a more fair view on both of these parties rather than making it appear that Obama is savior to black people on here.

For those of you complaining, is this your only source of news? If it is, then obviously you know how they report, you know they usually lean towards the Democratic party, that they are hard on Republicans, yet you complain. What is complaining going to do for you? Will it force them to alter their news stories? will it make them ashamed, and they will get a Republican blogger? More than likely not, so why not choose someone that supports your views? Someone that praises the Republican party that you like. I don’t merely use this site for my news stories, I read others that are non-biased, and that will offer me a bipartisan view that I can use to form my own ideas, so, if BP decided to attack Obama, and support Republican’s, more than likely I would not complain, its not that important to me. Do they really really need a page like this to “expose” the republicans. In which we all know how both parties operate. Now for the record I don’t claim to like either party because white people run both parties though the democrats give black people more of a presence. But this is simply a page to bash Michael Steele. Would’nt it be more productive to simply tell the man how he can help improve the non existent relationship between blacks and republicans. If Steele had any real power in his party, SubNegro, then that would definitely be a way to go. But, he Doesn’t. The Repubs saw an opening to jump on a bandwagon, and did so. He is not the leader of the party, he is merely the “face” of the party. Were he able to alter the parties thinking, he would not have been called on to apologize to a thug like Limbaugh. His party is feeding him lines, and telling him to smile pretty for the cameras. Period.

The republican party is all about puppeting tokens out front to try to gain favor as the flavor of the month. They obviously think women and African Americans are naive and gullible. First with unqualified bumpkin Sarah Palin to try to get Hilary voters, now with Michael Steele’s Steppin Fetchit ass and his “hip-hop” outreach. Seeing what the former Lt. Governor did here in the purple state of MD showed many that some, but not all republicans can come to agree on common interest. However the case, when he ran for the U.S. Senate seat a few years back with a huge backing from Dems in Baltimore & Prince Georges county he stil lost! Why, because the good ol boys were not going to let then good speaking negro leap frog his way to the top as long as the stars and still bars fly high in the hearts & minds of many the hills of western sector and along the southern & eastern shores of the Chesapeake bay. That should have been lesson alone to leave that party behind and perhaps help work on creating a third party with others disenchanted with both the republicans and democrats. But he stays with them as if he can bring balance… Well the longer he stays with them, all he does in draws out the ugly truths that are within the party. Perhaps he’s playing the “spook” sitting next to the door? Look at it this way, he’s getting paid all the while the party he represents humiliates itself. Again, hes getting paid! IS NEWSONE a liberal news source? I think NewsOne is in the tank for Obama.
