If I were trying to put together a basketball team and I had all of history from which to chose, by the time I got around to picking my small forward, I’d go with Larry Bird. I’d do that, quite simply, because I wanted to win.

Dr. J is my favorite basketball player of all-time, but no small forward-led team ever won more championships than the three that Bird and his Celtics won during the 80s. Sorry Doc.

Similarly, now that Barack Obama has a choice between watching his party become weakened by an almost certain drudging in New York’s 2010 gubernatorial election, his camp chose to try to evoke some presidential gangster by asking current New York governor, current Black man David Paterson to step aside in 2010 and not run.

Obama’s team seems to believe that current state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has a much better chance of winning for the Dems, while they are also concerned that if Paterson were to chose to stay in the race, the Republicans would ratchet up a Rudy Giuliani candidacy that could only possibly mean the worst for all but the most masochistic New Yorkers.

Giuliani is a disaster. How that bozo managed, as New York mayor, to avoid 9/11 counting against his touted “crime statistics” is criminal in itself. But was the president right?

Well, my answer is yes and no. President Obama was certainly out of pocket by injecting himself into local party politics unless it’s to help. Then again, does President Obama consider himself “helping” here? Moreover, it’s not like there’s any love lost between President Obama and Governor Paterson.

When Obama gave a speech on Wall Street last Monday, Paterson wasn’t invited. Paterson also initially endorsed Hillary Clinton for President instead of Obama. And when Obama favored Ms. Clinton’s vacated Senate seat going to Caroline Kennedy, Paterson was like, “Whatever with that, Dude!” and picked Kirsten Gillibrand.

So should President Obama always stand up for a Black man in every circumstance no matter what? Not if he plans to keep on winning.

NO his loyalty should be to the people of America. Then you have to think loyal to who??? He is mixed. Just like most of the people in this wonderful, great nation.

    Good topic @ R.K.

First of all Bark is not Black… He is Ethiopian dont get those two confused. Dark skin does not make u a “Black Man” Second, he just as much Caucasian as he is Ethiopian so he need to do like Tiger Woods and call himself a “Cauthopian”

Only thing we really know about Bark is “PHOTO’s” So other then what they say, we have no history what so ever on this dude. He liked popped up out of nowhere and just like that he the President, he didn’t have no parents so who was the spoon that was feeding him all these years for this “Harvard Education” I know it wasn’t scholarships and grants. The only history we have on this dude is photos so I guess if a picture is worth a thousand words we need to put them all together, and see what it spells out cause I know we will never be told the truth

    Da_J_Rock…go get some schooling bruh!

Answer: Nope…This country and its people should be where his loyalty lies. Sick of the small portion of the black community, that demand a black President to have their personal interests as his first priority…while governing a country. Its obvious they don’t know the job of a President if they think that is what it entails.

It is our job as citizens to be activists for our own interests

lord, im am so tired of BLACKS acting like they know all about another persons history. If hes ethiopian or whatever u choose, what is your point? If a person is egyptian, kenyan, nigerian, tanzanian, etc..–what is your point? We all share similar ancestors then u think.

Back to the point–his loyalty should be to the american people…

A strong No. Believe it or not but America is a very diverse country mainstream. Unless you are living in a box, the world is ever so changing on a daily basis. Most of us on this site are black and we choose to frequent this site. However, when it comes to our livlihood, we have to put on the “face”. Is it wrong? I think not. Right now, the president should be focusing on fixing the problems that the last administration screwed up. So whoever it is, Latino, African, or Russian, may the best person get the job done. Ask yourselves this BP, when it comes to your money and you had to choose your own who graduated 59th out of 60 or a white person who graduated top of their class out of 100. Who would you choose to be your accountant?

why would he his momma was a white woman, and you know how you niggahs are when it comes to claiming first and foremost(UR FAT AZZ MOMMA)tiger did it mj did it and so did a host of others.and then you cant figure out why black men dont hang around that much when it comes to family matters.the pres.will make that same claim that he cant chose between the two but he has a black wife some black babies and a bunch of mirrors in the white house(OR WHAT I LIKE TO CALL THE WORLDS LARGEST PLANTATION).he dont think fixing our problems is all that important, unless we start burning this bytch to the ground and all these crackers with it at that point he’ll have to make a choice.

    LMAO @ kennyd4……….

WHAT THE FVCK DID YOU JUST SAY? “you know how you niggahs are”…can u write in a way that doesn’t make u look retarded?

hell no his loyalties should not be to race first… hes tryin to save the whole damn country. how selfish is this shyt?

if patterson runs, he will lose… guiliani does not have the black man in mind at all… so how is that a win for us? sticking by this fool is not the correct path to choose.

black people… god knows i love each and every one of you… did we vote for obama JUST because hes black? most of us would say no… we gotta get beyond this race thing and its a two way street. we shouldnt get special treatment… only equal treatment

    @ TanyaInSac

Call me what u will, but I know that my intelligence exceeds your comprehension, I challenge u to an IQ test any day u name the time and place, that being said, the clown is Ethiopian

And DaintyJen… I dated a model from Suriname that is blacker then me and u combined, so no we dont all know where our ancestry come from because it was black people already here in America but the history books dont tell u that. I clearly said that I “DIDN’T” know his history but I would like to know it. I earned my living studying “POLITICAL SCIENCE” so I have always been inclined to get a grasp of concepts and theories concerning the well being of all Americans as a whole not just black & white. I empathize with people who dont have the means to educate themselves and for those who may have tried and because of life situations couldn’t adjust their schedule to fit into what they set out to pursue.

I am a country boy, but I have been blessed to travel the world and not only see things, but educate myself on cultures and societies who pursue completeness for everyone and not just a certain class or race of people. I dont give out accolades for free black/white/smurfcolor. Nor will I put down or disrespect anyone for something that I dont know about them. I do know that “Barks” political agenda is vague and misleading, it sounds good to the ears, but the paperwork dont match up… Read some of his policies, the reason why that paperwork is so “thick” is because they think people will skip over and not only that, be intimidated by the thought of a challenging concept. I am happy to have a “Black” face as our leader however, I am not happy at the job that he is doing, because I know that it wont benefit America collectively.

Answer me one question… Why are we in Afghanistan & Pakistan? To say there is a “WAR” going on who are we fighting? Terrorist? If thats the case then why dont we bring the troops home and secure our homefront first. And then, if we notice a problem globally look into a$$isting “Whomever” needs it. I witnessed first hand a surplus of over 6 figures go to waste because of lack of maintence, it dont sound like alot but it happened on more then one occa$$ion, temperture that reached 140 degrees and no drainage system when it rained flooding a village in less then 30 minutes… People in this country need to wake up, I dont want to hear another “SPEECH” show me in writing everything matter of fact sign off on it then show me and I want to be there the day that it gets passed. Cut off the tv’s, radio & internet too, and “READ”

    lol @ kennyd… I concur

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Sub-Negro/ Sub-Negro

Wow at kennyd4 that was pretty amusing. And people need to wakeup cause most of these white folks either don’t give a damn about us or they hate us. They don’t really give a damn about us minorities. And Bark err I mean Barack should’ve bailed us out instead of the banks. Hell I still want my 40 acres and a mule. But them white folks aint got let this n!gga do that type of sh!t.
