Steele On Sotomayor: God Help White Men

RNC Chairman Michael Steele isn’t shying away from highlighting race as a signifying issue of the Sonia Sotomayor Supreme Court nomination hearings.
In an interview with CNN’s Campbell Brown on Tuesday, the Republican Party leader insisted that white males would not be granted even-handed jurisprudence under a Court with Obama’s nominee.
“God help you if you’re a white male,” said Steele. “If you’re seeking justice, this may not be the bench you want to go before.”

From what i heard he raises a valid point. The media is trying to take his comments out of context. Just like what happened w/judge Sotomayor. My concern, as a citizen of a southern state (but this is not a problem confined just to southern states), is That that question and his comments should be asked/made on a district judge level, on a justice of the peace level, on a county judge level, on a state judge level, where ’til this day many Hispanics and blacks can’t get a fair verdict/trial. He shouldn’t just talk when it concerns a nomination at the Supreme court level. And just for the record all the Supreme court judges aren’t saints either, She’d probably be the person to shift the balance back to the middle.

no steele misquoted the judge, i wish they would READ what she said before && what she said after that remark..he doesnt say anything when people are threating to kill Obama or take out the white house..she said her outlook would be different then a white man sitting on the bench..and she’s right..i mean, she’s a woman, a miniority, coming from the projects..she had every reason to give up but she didnt.
how dare he talk. he doesnt pay attention to all the racism going on currently. The beginning of this week reports were all over bp news about white and spanish officers beating black men and killing them while they were unarmed. I wonder how he feels about jeff sessions leading republicans on civil right and justice when he is a racist!
