Is it a wonder? I mean in my experience when these brothers try to turn their life around the streets become deaf and blind in their ability to relate. When I was young my mother always would say “Nobody put a gun to your head and made you do this or that!” Lately I have started to question that statement. It appears that when these guys get famous and try to interact with the “people” they are treated like they owe them something. I knew from the get that he wasn’t serious (in applying them to his own life) about the messages in a lot of his recent songs. Most of them (plus his BET show) seemed like attempts to get more lenient treatment from the system before he went in. I don’t think this makes him a bad person, he’s just one of the many black men who are conflicted by the place they came from and the place they want to go.

We’ve seen this before in artists like Tupac and DMX; one minute they’ll be praying and the next minute brandishing guns and disrespecting women. I think T.I. has learned and knows better than this, but is burdened with the expectations of people who are stuck in that old mindset (like Tiny).

What people need to stop saying is role model you should be the role model for your own child. As parents that is our responsibility. We don’t know these people only for the music that they put out here. T.I. has contradicted himself so many times let’s get serious. Before he went to jail he came with redemption crap only to try and get his sentenced reduced. Before then he was talking about shooting up cars and leaving slow leaks. He made himself look like a clown and it has no reflection on me. That is what is wrong with the world today so many kids are lost they look at these artist as though they are Gods and then when they f**k up it is like they let the whole world down. You are on probation, driving a luxury vehicle in Hollywood,CA with items in your vehicle which should not be there. You just had a movie released and are trying to clean up your image for the public. Come on.

What trips me out is that women actually sit in the passengers side seat and say NOTHING about what’s going on. As his wife you should have pulled the plug on whatever he was bringing in the vehicle. Put your foot down. Sometimes we need to be the voice of reason for our men – we are as women designed to be help mates you know.

Their actions make no sense what-so-ever.

Role models, I think not. This is a great opportunity to “process and analyze behavior” with your kids when things like this show up on the t.v. Ask them what they think? What they think would happen? Ask them if they think regular people like you and I would be able to bail out so quickly? What toll do you think this will have on his career considering he’s on probation? *here is the opportunity to defuse the situation, tackle thought processes, and guide your sons/daughter thinking.

Something has bothered me about this from the moment I heard of the arrest. I have heard quite a few people speaking about the L. A. Sherriffs Dept and LAPD pulling people getting pulled over under the guise of smelling the odor of marijuana. I have to call bulls**t on this one. If there was an odor of marijuana why did they not find weed, signs of smoking it in the car or charge them with any marijuana related offense? Its the probable cause excuse they can use when pulling black folks over and say they were not profiling. If they find nothing its no big deal to them because they still stopped another black man to let us know who is still running things. Meanwhile 5 cars passed by on Sunset Blvd full of rich White kids high as Giraffe Balls with enough Cocaine,X Pills and Weed on them to get charged for dealing. They saw a black man driving a 300K car and that was enough for them to do their normal routine. T.I. being a black man on probabation made it easy for some Sherriff to brag that he got him a Rich N***** and his woman because he was driving with X pills. T.I. should have known to keep the drugs at home especially driving that car to avoid the most connected and organized gang in LA…the Police.

I wouldn’t dare call any rapper a role model, but that’s just me. Neither one is thinking too much this is just like the 46 year old who was driving with a stem on him. You know that your car is targeted why give the police any ammunition? Well a black persons’ misfortune is a white man fortune. Go on and pay the whiteman to get you out of this one!

I know TI had a hard ordeal the first go around and when he got off easily he then had to deal with the snitch rumors, but all I know is if he gets off on this drug charge then I’m really going to believe the snitching is true. I just don’t see how he’s going to get pass this without doing some time for violating his probabtion. I don’t care about money or celebrity or status…and I wish others weren’t so bedazzled by these brain-dead stars that they lose all common sense and mindlessly ‘cheerlead’ around and make excuses for blatant stupidity.

Tiny? I don’t know.
I don’t place much judgement on her. I sympathize but, actually, I don’t know what to say because I, personally, would’ve never settled with a man like TI.

Now, I speak from experience.
Way back when, I dealt with someone who was very much like TI. Very flashy. Driving ‘big-body’ with 24′s – fresh from the chop shop. Wallet always filled with money. Flossing.
Typical ‘hustler’.
He lied to me about his true line of work. We fought. Broke up. I forgave (b/c I was emotionally invested, he was tall, had a big d*ck and he was gorgeous!!! I was crazy about him).
Always had a problem with his lifestyle, though.

I didn’t pester him about it but was hoping that he’d follow through with his promises and stop his activities. Otherwise it wouldn’t work.
This wasn’t a small-time operation. He was the biggest dopeboy in the city…and I live in a major city. He actually had an entourage. Dealt with Cubans and Columbians. Had folks on the street selling things for him.
I didn’t want to be worried about strange men following us or the Feds doing something to him…or being the victims of a home-breakin because he pissed of a group of men or whatever…y’know?
Beyond this, I was in college. Had a burgeoning career to think about. I couldn’t bring someone like him home to meet my family. Imagine me trying to explain what he does for a living? This, ‘I’m an entreprenuer’ crap wouldn’t cut it.

You can’t pull the wool over my daddy’s eyes. My father would’ve looked him over and known what he was.
In the end, we parted ways. He was in too deep. I was tired of playing the ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ Mafia Wife. Tired of my seeming silent acquiesce to the whole thing. Tired of turning a blind-eye to everything.

Men who live that fast life…? The husters and ‘dopeboys’?
They need ‘fast’ women. The loud, ghetto ones who are up in the middle of his business?
Or the flashy ‘pretty girls’ who’d rather rec’v his money and sit pretty in his Benz than actually consider the man behind it all and the inpact of his activities.
Regardless of how much these men claim to desire a ‘good girl’ – a ‘street woman’ will always be more suitable.

So…TINY? ‘Street Men’ don’t stop until they want to. They like that life and the fast money. You, as their woman, can’t coerce them into doing a thing.
Unless you like that life, you don’t settle with that type of man until he gets his run out.

TINY? She knew what was up. She picked him, ANYWAY. She chose him to be her lifemate.
So….hey – what else CAN be said? What can she say now?
She’s comfortable playing this ‘role’.
ACTIONS –> CONSEQUENCES
It is what is it.
That was her choice…what has transpired, are the consequences.
