An Embrace Fit For a Queen: Michelle’s Hug Causes Controversy
By Casey Gane-McCalla, Assistant Editor April 2, 2009 9:53 am
I’m not one for Royal ettiquette and I don’t believe anyone is beyond reproach. Still people in the media are making a spat over Michelle Obama hugging the Queen. Here’s Jack and Jill Politics take on the matter. Apparently you are not supposed to touch the Queen but some are saying the Queen touched Michelle first. Time Magazine also wrote about the ettiquette issue so I don’t have to.

« Previous 1 2 3What did the F**KN queen say?????? “she gotta dunk”??? What da bloodclot!!
The queen hugged her first. Jeez, people come, on.
She’s not our queen. When last I checked we are a Democratic-Republic, not a monarchy. The queen of England is just another person to us. We threw that tea in Boston Harbor and kicked their butts out in 1776. I don’t know why the British are so hooty snooty about their monarchy anyway. If they would nix the queen they would save a lot of money. Michelle Obama should tastefully tell the queen to kiss her NBA.
HERE they go again making something out of nothing,if the queen embraces her also and didn,t have a problem with it,, WTH the damn stuck up brits getting bent out of shape about? They need to get a damn life and I,m sure Mz Obama understood the protocal, they brief her and the president, before arrival, they really don,t give them credit or think we have intelligence. they really need to fall back ,damn the britts.

In response to your comment: “…and Antsu-in-Japan you should be ashamed of treating your farther the way you did…my father is no longer here and i wish i could see him hug anyone right now…think about it!”
I am VERY sorry that your father is no longer here. The fact that mine is still on this earth certainly DOES NOT give him the right to hug whomever he wants whenever HE wants. My father was in Japan…not America… and he has to respect the rules (protocol) of this country when he is here. That was the point. And furthermore, it was my DUTY as his daughter to inform him that he was making people he hugged uncomfortable…so HECK NO… I am not ashamed of telling him what I told him.
Not to be nasty or anything, but maybe you should learn a little something about Japanese culture (if you haven’t already) before you attempt to judge me.
