Just a little over half way through the video, I simply could not bear to listen to anymore. It is sickening to listen to so called famous black leaders, artists, speakers, etc. that fall into the old age trap of “divide and conquer,” that our white slave masters and counterparts have implemented and forced upon us from days old. The only difference about present day society is the fact they are no longer in a position to force it upon us. Have we become so smart, famous and liberated that we subject ourselves to becoming enslaved by this same principle to utilize it against ourselves and The First Black President of the United States under the guise of seeking racial equality for African Americans? Quite the contrary. What I see is people such as Mr. Dyson and others who are suddenly quite vocal about the “President’s treatment of race and Blacks now that Obama is in office, versus during the Bush and other white presidential offices. Their quest seems for them to gain equal spotlight, but their credentials, passion and effort to help blacks and any other americans does not come close to comparing with President Obama’s. In seeking self gratification and support of people for their own personal vain glory, they continue to support the white people who are against Blacks and support the division versus unity. Last point, but not the least significant is the question of how Mr Dyson and others would feel and what would be their comments if Previous White Presidents addressed the White Race per se over the American government and society, because they were white first and supported my white people? I don’t know and I’m not getting it. I guess I just figured that a lot of these so called renowned people such as Mr. Dyson, to name one, were brighter than they are displaying, should have a more intuitive understanding of the role diplomacy and careful thinking and strategy plays and also should know by now that some of the best manifestations are for a period of time the best kept secrets! As usual, there is a lot of substance to what Dr. Dyson is saying, essentially that we need to hold President Obama accountable. The analogy that was used regarding the hospital patient who has cancer was brilliant. President Obama does need a prescription for each community, in particular the community that is suffering the most, the Black community. The honeymoon is over. And I say that acknowledging all that is on President Obama’s plate. Black folks have to be willing to say unapologetically now is the time for deliberate action with the intent of realizing Dr. King’s dream of economic equality and President Obama needs to put forth some policy that will enable some victories for Blacks who are ultimately, as Dr. Dyson commented are responsible for him being in office.

I agree with Dyson to a certain extent but as the case for many people he is not very educated in the history of America. If he was, then he would have known from the jump that goverment diplomacy dont reach the poor. Not now anyway. What do i mean? He critisized lincoln but in atuality lincoln was the last true president in terms of control and power (pre-federal reserve)and if he had a predecessor who was equally courages to buck against the system it would be JFK, but Obama? Please. People must understand that obama like every president before him is a politian first, with the exception of MCKINLEY, HARDING, LINCOLN, KENNEDY, ALL THESE PRESIDENTS WERE ASSASINATED. Obama avoided black people and black issues like the plague during his presidential run. I didn’t support him because of that and his inexperience
