WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama and his family are heading to church this Easter.

The Obamas plan to visit a church on Sunday. White House aides are mum on where the first family is going, citing security and privacy.

Obama hasn’t attended public church services in Washington since taking office. He left his Chicago church last year after his pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, caused a controversy with his incendiary rhetoric.

Obama has sent aides to scout more than a dozen churches, but the first family hasn’t yet made a decision. Advisers say Obama is going to be careful with the pick because reporters will dig into the church’s and pastor’s history.
