I use to live in Alaska for about 3 years when I was in the Army. There are a bunch of black folks from all over. Black folks love it so much up there that they retire and have kids and the cycle keeps going.
im from va..and i been in anchorage for about 10 months. he needs to got to Anchorage the largest city in alaska. we have drug dealers homeless folks…blacks,club shootings ect..he went to wasilla..come on now.

Its always nice 2 see black people in other parts of world, but i still can’t get over that old white guy saying “negroes”….shows how much the white population thinks of the blacks there, smh

I have been in Alaska for the past six or so years. I came up here because of military (as the reason most balcks come here) and alot decide to settle because of the economy payts great money. P. Diddy is an idiot for saying what he did about “no blacks in Alaska”. Granted, the population is nothing compared to some of the lower 48 states. You wouldnt believe the hip hop community up here. The Northwest movement is gooing to rock the world real soon. I will admit that i thought alaska would be all igloos (which are here but in remote parts) and cold as all kinds of sin. Where i grew up was alot of crime and so forth so i personall dont think the crime rate here is all that bad but it exists. So i find it wierd that it took the notice of a WHIT WOMAN to bring attention to the BLACK community of Alaska. So come on Smokey, let me introduce to Alaska.

I’ve actually thought of relocating to AK – Wasilla as a matter of fact. A few months prior to Sarah Palin’s Republican VP nomination, I completed a bit of online research of the city. The African-American population is extremely small, but from the positive statements of those interviewed, Wasilla doesn’t seem so bad.

I would have never thought to go to Alaska to find out about the Blacks in Palin’s town, but how interesting. It’s nice to see that there are sensible, black people living within her town. Although its obviously no where I would want to live–I prefer the diversity of New Jersey (thank God I live in this state!), it’s nice to see that they are cool with their lives. It was an interesting piece. Okay, as my page says, and this video stated, we need to vote on Tuesday, because there’s NOT enough Barack supporters in some places (like Alaska), to win this election, but in battleground states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico..you guys MUST vote, in order to look out for the people who live in those red states, and miss out on the lifestyle we are privileged to live in NY, NJ, and other blue states. God Bless this country and Barack Obama.
