Fisher’s comments, which start at minute 7:22, include:

• “that white dude that killed that faggot black dude in Florida. I’m going to go out and try to search for this [inaudible].”
• “If you all see that George Zimmerman bitch, tell him I’m looking for him.”
• “That bitch superintendent wouldn’t give me a fucking district car, and I told that bitch that I was going to get her.”
• “The daughter is like, doing bad in the class, and she’s trying to get back at the teacher… The father comes to the board meeting, crying and shit to the board, talking about his daughter’s been raped and all kind of bullshit. All of a sudden, this motherfucker has six attorneys.”
• “Wow, so instead of you guys stealing the money, someone else is stealing the money from the district,” says one host. Fisher’s response: “Yeah! Yeah!”
• “We’re meeting this Tuesday at 7 o’clock. Oh! You’ve got to definitely come. There’s solidarity with this Trayvon Martin bitch, and I’m trying to get on news so I’m wearing the hoodies at the whole board meeting… It’s the perfect publicity stunt. I’m going to wear a hoodie, the news is going to come out, and I’m going to announce my candidacy for City Council, goddammit.”

A concerned parent called L.A. Weekly with the tip.

In an update to this story, the Weekly reports that because the school board is technically the superintendent’s boss, Fisher can not be fired. Enough signatures would have to be collected by the public for a recall election.

In the wake of controversy, the school board has accepted Fishers request for a three-month leave of absence so that he can focus on his “health and personal well-being.”

I know the term ghetto isn’t politically correct, but I couldn’t think of a better term. These news clips shouldn’t make Black people look bad, but they sure make Black people interesting. These clips do not represent African Americans as a whole, but a hilarious slice of life that we can all be amused by.

10. Reporter Turns Ghetto. Black people have to be bi-lingual. This newscaster turns from proper newsman to angry “ghetto” newsman after a bug flies in his mouth.

9. Cam’ron Debates Bill O’Reilly. Who does Fox News get to represent Hip Hop in a debate about the influence of Hip Hop on the youth? KRS-1, Chuck D? Nope Cam’ron, the king of ignorant crack rap. This debate quickly turns into an infantile argument between two big kids. Maybe Cam’ron should introduce his idea of more parent teacher conferences to Obama’s education team.

8.Whistle Tip Mufflers. In Oakland they were making special mufflers that made loud screeching noises. They decided to interview Bub Rubb and Lil Sis about them. Wooooop Wooooop.

7. Thuggin It And Loving It. A group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana made a DVD that highlighted the city’s criminal element. The local news quickly picked up on all the guns and negativity that the DVD promoted.

6. Leprechaun In The Hood. No this isn’t a movie starring Ice-T. Some people in Mobile, Alabama thought they saw a leprechaun, but in all honesty, it could’ve been a crackhead.

5. Gucci Mane Home Invasion. Gucci Mane’s manager tries to take advantage of the fact that Gucci killed someone to promote his single “Icey,” while Gucci tries to show his innocence with a Martin Luther King t-shirt. I sincerely doubt that Gucci Mane was part of MLK’s dream.

4. Beauty School Beat Down. When a man tried to rob a beauty school he gets beat down with curling irons in Shrevesport, Louisiana.

3. Spike Lee Like Dick (Pause). When Spike Lee said he liked a Knick player named Dick, Gus Johnson used the Dipset influenced slang term, “pause,” which is meant to make sure a statement that could be perceived as homosexual, in fact doesn’t mean anything homosexual at all.

2. 29-Year-Old Has 21 Kids By 11 Women. The headline is self explanatory.

1. 7-Year-Old Steals Grandma’s Car. Latarian Milton stole his grandma’s car, because he was mad at his mom. He told reporters that “it was fun to do bad things” and that he enjoyed “doing hoodrat stuff with my friends.

The sitcom was a window into a certain, often enviable kind of black familial and romantic love, a showcase for amazing talent, and a place where the situations or “problems” of a black family were mostly just the same as any other family’s. The No. 1 hit celebrates its 25th anniversary this Sunday.

In this first installation of Cosby’s exclusive interview with The Root, the show’s star and creator shares never-before-told stories about the show and explores the political legacy of the Huxtables: Did Cliff and Clair Huxtable make Barack and Michelle Obama possible?

The Root: Why did you start The Cosby Show?

Bill Cosby: I didn’t like what was on TV in terms of sitcoms—it had nothing to do with the color of them—I just didn’t like any of them. I saw little kids, let’s say 6 or 7 years old, white kids, black kids. And the way they were addressing the father or the mother, the writers had turned things around, so the little children were smarter than the parent or the caregiver. They were just not funny to me. I felt that it was manipulative and the audience was looking at something that had no responsibility to the family.

TR: You and your TV wife, Phylicia Rashad, raised five children on that show who were pretty well-behaved. What accounts for that?

“Raised” is right … Episode One might very well be one of the strongest episodes of any sitcom. Because it is the beginning of the boy, Theo, announcing that he does not want to become a person who has to study, to get a career, that he wants no particular responsibility toward studying or school. He sees somebody with a job, and he calls them ‘regular people.’

What I didn’t plan for was that the audience started to applaud … The applause floored me because it really made me feel that these people are saying, ‘Well, he’s right! He should be allowed to be a regular person.’ And I thought to myself, Hey, man, I’m in trouble.

But I knew and believed that what Cliff was about to say was the right thing … So I said, “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.” Then the people started clapping for what I said. So now I said to myself: Are they back on track? How can they applaud for him and then applaud for what I’m saying? Is the audience split on what is going on?

How long were you in the military?

Seven years.

Then in the cartel, what was your job? What did you do?

Basically, I was a hitman.

Your job was to do what?

Bodyguard and things like that. Kill people, kidnap, all kind of stuff like that.

That’s an interesting change from the military.

Yeah. It’s almost the same, but without permission.

What does it pay? How much did you make?

About $500 per week.

You would be an expert from your military training. Were you ever involved in the procurement of weapons?

Not directly, but I saw little things of how they introduced the weapons in the country, into Mexico.

How did it work?

The same person that works for the organization here in the United States, they get the weapons and they carry them to Mexico … They never had any problems to cross them into Mexico at the border. Sometimes they use secret compartments to hide the weapons, but not all the time. The principal way was crossing the river or by the international bridges.

Who would buy the weapons?

I’m not sure about that because I never was there. But the same people that work for the organization here in the U.S., I don’t know how to explain in English, they have to be U.S. citizens to buy the weapons. They get some people to buy the weapons, every kind of them, and then pay them for it…. The people who was working here in U.S. selling the drugs, they were the same that get the weapons. It was people who was working directly for my boss, so he said “don’t bring me money, bring me weapons.”

What kinds of weapons did you have, did you carry?

When I was in the organization, we asked for them to bring weapons like Heckler and Koch, MP5, and M-16 or something like that, AR-15, but the most we wanted Heckler and Koch and Colt AR-15 ‘cuz they were the better weapons. We knew about weapons, so we ask them for the best weapons we could use for that work.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday chose an Arabic satellite TV network for his first formal television interview as president, delivering a message to the Muslim world that “Americans are not your enemy.”

The interview underscored Obama’s commitment to repair relations with the Muslim world that have suffered under the previous administration.

The president expressed an intention to engage the Middle East immediately and his new envoy to the region, former Sen. George J. Mitchell, was expected to arrived in Egypt on Tuesday for a visit that will also take him to Israel, the West Bank, Jordan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

“My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy,” Obama told the Saudi-owned, Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel.

Obama said the U.S. had made mistakes in the past but “that the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there’s no reason why we can’t restore that.”

During his presidency, former President George W. Bush gave several interviews to Al-Arabiya but the wars he launched in Iraq and Afghanistan prompted a massive backlash against the U.S. in the Muslim world.

Al-Arabiya has scored interviews with top U.S. officials in the past, including Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

The Saudi-owned channel is seen by some in Washington as more balanced in its coverage than its Qatar-funded rival Al-Jazeera, which the previous White House administration complained had an anti-American bias.

Obama called for a new partnership with the Muslim world “based on mutual respect and mutual interest.” He talked about growing up in Indonesia, the Muslim world’s most populous nation, and noted that he has Muslim relatives.

The new president said he felt it was important to “get engaged right away” in the Middle East and had directed Mitchell to talk to “all the major parties involved.” His administration would craft an approach after that, he said in the interview.

“What I told him is start by listening, because all too often the United States starts by dictating,” Obama told the interviewer.

The president reiterated the U.S. commitment to Israel as an ally and to its right to defend itself. But he suggested that both Israel and the Palestinians have hard choices to make.

“I do believe that the moment is ripe for both sides to realize that the path that they are on is one that is not going to result in prosperity and security for their people,” he said, calling for a Palestinian state that is contiguous with internal freedom of movement and can trade with neighboring countries.

Obama also said that recent statements and messages issued by the al-Qaida terror network suggest they do not know how to deal with his new approach.

“They seem nervous,” he told the interviewer. “What that tells me is that their ideas are bankrupt.”

In his latest message on Jan. 14, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden said Obama had been left with a “heavy inheritance” of Bush’s wars.

Shortly after the election, the network’s number two, Ayman al-Zawahri used a demeaning racial term for a black American who does the bidding of whites to describe Obama.

The message suggested the terror network was worried Obama could undermine its rallying cry that the U.S. is an enemy oppressor.

Sarah Palin appeared on ABC for the first face-to-face interview since delivering her speech at the Republic National Convention. The McCain-Palin camp purposely shielded her from reporters as scandals about her record brewed. Speculation about her experience has been rampant in the wake of her being chosen to serve as Vice President, effectively one John McCain health issue from being the nation’s leader.

Charlie Gibson of ABC made it a point to press her on foreign policy, a supposed point of weakness for Gov. Palin. As her running mate, John McCain, appeared at a forum on issues with Senator Barack Obama, Palin was facing the flurry of thorough questions Mr. Gibson had to offer. At times, Mrs. Palin appeared nervous or flustered at the prospect of mitigating her answers to fit the party lines. Charlie Gibson made it an issue to ask Gov. Palin about: 

• The Bush Doctrine on war, pre-emptive strikes
• The conflict between Georgia and Russia and,
• Whether or not she had visited foreign countries or met with foreign leaders

Although she remained composed as she talked about her record, she was less sure-footed when asked about her plans to handle complex international relations. Understanding the NATO alliance, which has been a critical piece in handling Israeli-Palestine affairs, conflicts in the Balkans, and the Somalian and Sudanese skirmishes, presented difficulties for the VP nominee. She also changed course on a statement she made about son Palin going to the Iraq war, in which she stated that it was “God’s will” to place American troops at the heart of the fracas.
