The Nigerian cities of Yola and Kano were rocked by two bomb blasts in 24 hours, killing dozens of people and wounding more than 120 others. One of the attacks involved an 11-year-old girl, the report says.

Boko Haram has surpassed the number of fatalities claimed by the Islamic State (formerly known as ISIS).

It is unknown if any of the young women are victims of the highly-publicized kidnapping of hundreds of schoolgirls from a secondary school last April. The mass kidnapping sparked the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.

According to reports, Nigerian military officials have rescued 178 people who were kidnapped by the Boko Haram Islamist militant group.
