Yeah it was inappropriate, unprofessional, etc. for the teachers, but the student are acting like they’re so innocent and haven’t seen anything like that, or worse, before. It was not that bad as they are fully clothed and the intention was to be a bit of fun, but its DEFINITELY INAPPROPRIATE to do this in a high school! Of course kids may have seen and know about lap dances, but I doubt that they should be encouraged to seek out a professional dance which could be spured on by the antics of their teachers, a profession that used to enjoy a great deal of respect. It’s hard enough for teachers to engage with students without degrading the profession any further.

Its always easy to swing the hammer and have higher standards for other people than yourself. I’ve noticed several comments here that suggest this is acceptable behavior, and that these educators should not be punished for this mistake. I think that kind of clues us into how the media through television, video games, etc have degraded our sensitivity to protecting children from sex. Sex is for adults, the reason we have a problem with teen pregnancy and STDs is not because we’re not teaching the kids how to use condoms, its because we’ve allowed our media to sexualize the youth in the first place. There is already enough garbage on TV, we pay taxes to send out kids to school to learn something useful. We should all be concerned those tax dollars might be used to sexualize children which leads to many of the social costs we face: medicaid when they become pregnant, social welfare to take care of those kids because while their too young to properly provide the needs for those children, they’re not too young to have them. This is a social matter that should be taken seriously because we all have to pay – even if it was in Canada, this time.

This is not acceptable for teachers to behave like that in schools. Certainly these two teachers are definitely in the wrong job.
