40,000 Sex Workers Looking To Cash In On World Cup

Within this month hundreds upon thousands of soccer fans will fill the South African stadiums for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in hopes of watching their favorite teams score. But as the beer is poured, and inhibitions are lost, many of these same fans will be looking to score for themselves outside arena.

That’s why South Africa’s Drug Central Authority estimates 40,000 sex workers are on duty round-the-clock for the post game activities. Many of the workers are from all over the world, and have either traveled or have been trafficked to South Africa to tend to nearly 450,000 mostly-male visitors.

This isn’t the first time soccer attracted the sex trade, The World Cup has always been a magnet for sex tourism, but in a country where 1 in 5 people are living with HIV, international health experts believe sex workers will contribute greatly to the rise of newly contracted HIV infections that are certain to spread in other countries — this has led world-wide media and governments to look to FIFA for leadership.

    Yep, and most of the 40,000 sex providers are coming from Latin American and European countries. I wouldn’t want anybody reading this article to be confused. The percentage of black w***es will be miniscule. (Just because you read it on a website targeted to a black audience does not mean that the culprits are black).

    The saddest part is most of these sex workers are innocent women who were kidnapped from their homes or sold by family members/spouses. The sex trade is HUGE and is the 21st centuries form of slavery. It breaks my heart.

    This happens on a smaller scale in America too when there’s a major sporting event. I remember when the Super Bowl was here in Tampa recently, you had strippers and prostitutes coming from out of state just to cash in on the influx of people(men) that would flood the area during Super Bowl weekend.

    Nightowl358 hit the nail on the head. Hoes always go where the money is. In Korea we used to have this exercise every year called Team Spirit and the Marines, Navy and Air Force would join us. When they got there not only did the price of puzzy skyrocket but you had hoes coming from all over Korea to service them.
