Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray has written an op-ed for TheGrio where he talks about his recent arrests for protesting budget restrictions placed on his city.

The mayor, who said he “was pleased to be arrested” because it was for the right cause, was carrying a sign saying: “Congress – Don’t Tread On D.C” yesterday afternoon.

In the op-ed, Gray talks about the lack of voter representation the District of Columbia has when it comes to these matters.
